Nesapakkam is a locality in the K.K.Nagar which is part of the city of Chennai, India. It is situated between Virugambakkam and Ramapuram.

M.G.R. Nagar (shortened from M. G. Ramachandran Nagar) is a neighbourhood located in Chennai, India. The area is known for its busy vegetable market and fish market.

The 2005 December Chennai stampede incident happened on 18 December 2005 in a school at MGR Nagar in Chennai, the capital of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where the relief supplies were distributed by the state government for the people affected by severe flooding. There were 42 deaths in the accident, which left another 37 injured. The state government appointed a one-man commission under retired justice A. Raman to look into the enquiry. The state government also announced a compensation of ₹100,000 for all the victims and ₹15,000 for the injured. During 2005, there were heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and its coastal areas were flooded. Many people were rendered homeless by flooding during November and December. Relief measures were announced by the government that necessitated collecting tokens from authorities in different centres across the city.

Saligramam (சாலிகிராமம்) is a residential locality situated in the western part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Saligramam is surrounded by Vadapalani in the east, Virugambakkam in the west, KK Nagar in the south and Koyambedu in the north. Saligramam was part of Saidapet Taluk in Chengalpattu district before it was merged with Chennai City and district in 1977.

St. Anne's Church which was the substation of Ashok Nagar was established as a parish in 1999, with Rev Fr Philip Manathra as the first parish priest. The church and the parochial house were constructed in 2000 and 2002 respectively by Rev Fr Philip Manathra.

Ashok Nagar is a residential locality situated at the southern part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1964. At the heart of this colony, stands the Ashok Pillar. This four lion head stump, resembles the one erected by king Ashoka during the 3rd century BCE at Sanchi. To promote this suburban locality, the Tamil Nadu Housing Board constructed flats during the 1970s for middle-income group, covering an area of 7 sq km including the neighbourhood of K. K. Nagar. The next major infrastructure was shopping complex constructed near Pillar in 1974. Banks, Ration shop, Grocery stores, urban development office were started functioning here. Followed by it was inauguration of Anna Community hall and sports club. In the early 1980s, Udhayam Theatre complex and ESI hospital emerged. Later more government schools and additional facilities were added.

Ashok Nagar Metro station is a Metro railway station on the Line 2 of the Chennai Metro, which is currently under operation. The station is among the elevated stations coming up along corridor II of the Chennai Metro, Chennai Central–St. Thomas Mount stretch. The station will serve the neighbourhoods of Ashok Nagar and Mambalam.

Wavoo Wajeeha Women's College of Arts & Science, is a women's premium self-finance degree college located in Kayalpatnam, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 2006. The college is affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. This college offers different courses in Arts, Commerce and Science in both Under Graduate and Post Graduate. The college was established by the Wavoo SAR Educational Trust. The primary objective of the institution is to provide higher education to the girls in the rural area without any discrimination of caste, creed and religion, bringing out their inherent abilities to make them highly qualified, morally sound, socially disciplined and technically competent individuals. The college was started with 124 students and 12 staff members in the academic year 2006-2007, has grown steadily. At present it has 1,500 students enrolled in various disciplines of Arts and Sciences, both in undergraduate and post-graduate levels, with more than 75 teaching faculty, and more than 45 members of non-teaching and supporting staff.

St John's Matriculation Higher Secondary School is a school in Alwarthirunagar which had its beginnings in the early 1980s. The school was founded by D John Ponnudurai. This school is part of IYAP consortium. The school follows Matriculation Syllabus for students between Grade 1 to Grade 10 and Tamil Nadu State Board for grades Eleven and Twelve. It has branches in Porur, Triplicane and a sister school in the name of the Good Shepherd in Alwarthirunagar. The medium of education is English with Tamil, Hindi and French as second languages. Alwarthirunagar is an urban locality in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, India. Alwarthirunagar Pin code is 600087 and postal head office is Valasaravakkam. It falls under Valasaravakkam municipality, in Maduravoyal (State Assembly Constituency) constituency in Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The word nagar refers to a settlement in sanskrit. The neighbourhood was developed by the City Lando Corporation in the late 1960s. With the opening of schools and shopping centres, Alwarthirunagar emerged as a service centre in Chennai's west. Twenty acres of forestation in the area acts against pollution. Ekkattuthangal, also known as Ekkaduthangal or Ekkatuthangal, is a neighborhood in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu, India. It is surrounded by Jafferkhanpet, Guindy and Ramapuram. Area pincode is 600032, and previously it was 600097. The neighborhood is known for factories involved in lathes, milling, and welding. The neighborhood is located close to Kathipara Junction, which is the center point of the city, connecting to Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Chennai International Airport, Chennai Central railway station and Sriperumbudur. This area is also known for having two big Media houses Jaya TV and Pudiyathala Murai. Abutting the Guindy Industrial Estate, the region is experiencing rapid growth including technology parks like Olympia Tech Park, Thamarai Tech Park and Virtusa and five-star luxury hotels such as the Hilton Chennai. The Chennai Metro railway station at Ekkattuthangal became operational on 29 June 2015.
