West Mambalam

West Mambalam is a residential and commercial area in Chennai, India. It is known for its shops, bazaars and Hindu temples. It is bounded by Kodambakkam to the north and Saidapet to the south. T. Nagar and Nandanam stretch all along its eastern frontiers while Ashok Nagar lies to its west. The Ayodhya Mandapam is an important landmark.

Ayodhya Mandapam is a common meeting hall type of building-structure specifically made for the purpose of sath-sangamam (association of like-minded or common interest on religious development/discourses) at West Mambalam, Chennai, India. The mandapam is managed by Sri Ram Samaj. who also operate Mithilapuri Kalyana Mandapam - a marriage hall, Sri Sitaram Vidyalaya school and Gnanavapi - a place for conducting funeral rites. The Mandapam was constructed in 1964 and initially it was open to the Iyers of Mambalam (a set of Brahmin Community). Later it was made available for all the other communities. Till now it is known for the association/meeting point for Brahmin community. Periodic discourses on Vedas and Upanishads as well as several cultural meet-outs are handled throughout the year. In the month of March–April of every year, programmes in connection to Rama Navami Maha-utsav is very special at Ayodhya Mandapam. In January 2014, this society was taken over by HR & CE department of Tamil Nadu Government. After protest by the general public/ the Chief Justice of Madras High Court stayed the proceedings of the Tamil Nadu Government. As usual Sri Ram Samaj is managed by the committee appointed by General Body of Sri Ram Samaj. Sri Ram Samaj is a registered society, managed by the elected body of 15 people. It consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Asst. Secretary and the Treasurer.

Kasi Viswanatha Temple is a Hindu temple located in the neighbourhood of West Mambalam in Chennai, India. Dedicated to Siva, the temple is named after the Vishwanatha Temple at Varanasi. Constructed in the 17th century, the temple is also known as "Mahabilva Kshetra".

Mambalam Railway Station is one of the railway stations in Chennai, India, on the Chennai Beach–Chengelpet section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhoods of West Mambalam and T. Nagar. It is situated between the two neighbourhoods, about 11 km (6.8 mi) from Chennai Beach, and has an elevation of 13 m (43 ft) above sea level. With a patronage of 200,000 passenger a day, Mambalam railway station is one of the busiest stations in the city.

Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha Perumal is a Hindu temple in Saidapet, Chennai, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Venkateswara, an incarnation of the Hindu deity Vishnu. It was constructed during the 15th century, but, according to historical records and inscriptions found within the temple, may consist of elements dating back more than 1000 years. The temple was constructed during the era when the South India was under the rule of the Vijayanagara Empire. The temple is also known as "Prasanna Venkata Narshimar" due to the visit of Theliyasingher who is kovthugar of the temple. Hindu Mythology states that Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha is incarnated with his divine consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, facing east, in the Garbha Graha (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple.

Exnora International is a non-governmental environmental service organization started in 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, by M. B. Nirmal, a social activist. It focuses on preserving nature and preventing environmental degradation.The name Exnora is derived from excellent, novel and radical ideas in solving environmental problems by involving those who caused the problem. It is an example of a people, public, private (PPP) partnership.

KM Music Conservatory (KMMC) is a higher education institution founded in 2008 by the A. R. Rahman foundation. Located in Arumbakkam, Chennai, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the conservatory offers a range of part-time and full-time courses in Hindustani and Western classical music and music technology. Composer A. R. Rahman is the founder and principal, Fathima Rafiq the executive director.

Kannammapet is an area in the city of Chennai, India. It forms a part of the neighbourhood of T. Nagar. It houses one of the city's principal crematoriums. In 2003, an eco-friendly electric furnace was installed at the crematorium.

Wavoo Wajeeha Women's College of Arts & Science, is a women's premium self-finance degree college located in Kayalpatnam, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 2006. The college is affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. This college offers different courses in Arts, Commerce and Science in both Under Graduate and Post Graduate. The college was established by the Wavoo SAR Educational Trust. The primary objective of the institution is to provide higher education to the girls in the rural area without any discrimination of caste, creed and religion, bringing out their inherent abilities to make them highly qualified, morally sound, socially disciplined and technically competent individuals. The college was started with 124 students and 12 staff members in the academic year 2006-2007, has grown steadily. At present it has 1,500 students enrolled in various disciplines of Arts and Sciences, both in undergraduate and post-graduate levels, with more than 75 teaching faculty, and more than 45 members of non-teaching and supporting staff.

Kodambakkam (also known as K-Town or Kollywood) is a business and residential neighbourhood in Central Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The neighbourhood is served by Kodambakkam railway station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. Kodambakkam has a high concentration of film studios and has been known for its status as the hub of the Tamil film industry, lending its name to the industry's monicker Kollywood.
