The Manchester Assize Courts was a building housing law courts on Great Ducie Street in the Strangeways district of Manchester, England. It was 279 ft (85 m) tall and from 1864 to 1877 the tallest building in Manchester. Widely admired, it has been referred to as one of Britain's 'lost buildings'. It was severely damaged by wartime bombing in the Manchester Blitz, and then the remains were demolished in 1957.

Bankside at Colliers Yard is a residential high-rise building under construction in the Greengate area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The building is part of developer Renaker's Greengate masterplan called Colliers Yard, which consists of three adjacent towers, the others being Cortland which topped out in July 2022, and Parkside which was granted planning permission in March 2023. When completed, at 129 m (423 ft), it will be the third-tallest building in Salford and the 10th-tallest building in Greater Manchester. It was designed by Denton Corker Marshall.

100 Greengate (known as Anaconda Cut) (during development known as Exchange Court) is a residential high-rise in Salford, Greater Manchester, England with a height of 131 m (430 ft). As of 2023, it is the second-tallest building in Salford after Cortland at Colliers Yard and the ninth-tallest building in Greater Manchester.It was designed by OMI Architects and is part of a major redevelopment of the Greengate area. The 44-storey tower includes a lower elevation clad with aluminium panels reaching 16 storeys. The main tower is covered with reflective metal panels set behind the glass. The site is bounded by Trinity Way to the north, and Greengate to the south.

HM Prison Manchester is a Category A and B men's prison in Manchester, England, operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. It is still commonly referred to as Strangeways, which was its former official name derived from the area in which it is located, until it was rebuilt following a major riot in 1990. It is a local prison, holding prisoners remanded into custody from courts in the Manchester area and Category A prisoners (those held under maximum security conditions). The prison featured an execution chamber prior to the abolition of capital punishment in the United Kingdom in the 1960s; the last execution at the prison took place in 1964. Strangeways was designed by Alfred Waterhouse and opened in 1868 alongside the demolished Manchester Assize Courts. The prison is known for its prominent ventilation tower and imposing design, structured by the principles of the separate system.

Blackfriars is an outer-city suburb of Salford in Greater Manchester, England. It is situated along the banks of the River Irwell, close to the traditional centre of Salford at Greengate, between Manchester City Centre and Broughton. Blackfriars contains Blackfriars Park, one of Salford's smaller parks, and is home to the Friars Primary School.Due to slum clearance very few buildings in Blackfriars now predate the 1960s. One notable exception is the 1871-built tavern on Blackfriars Road, which has now been converted into homes for shared ownership.

It was designed by OMI Architects with Denton Corker Marshall as delivery architects. As of February 2024, it is the tallest tower in Salford and the seventh-tallest building in Greater Manchester.

Asian Sound Radio is a radio station located in Broadcast House, Southall Street in Manchester. It is the only 24-hour commercial radio station in the North West dedicated to the Asian community, broadcasting on MW across the whole region from Preston in the North to Stockport in the South. The programming is a blend of news, current affairs, interviews, competitions, music and information in English, Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto Bengali and Gujarati.

Embankment Exchange is a residential development under construction in the Greengate area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It will comprise 300 apartments across two buildings connected by a central podium: the 107 m (349 ft) tall North Tower and 50 m (163 ft) tall South Tower. The buildings were designed by Jeffrey Bell Architects.Once completed, the North Tower will become the fourth-tallest building in Salford and the joint 17th-tallest building in Greater Manchester with City Tower.

The Victoria Theatre, Salford, is a theatre in the Lower Broughton area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It is situated on Great Clowes Street, on the corner of the Elton Street. The theatre officially opened 10 December 1900 and was last in use as a bingo hall in 2008. The original capacity was 2,000 seated, this was increased to 3,000 in 1910. Palatial Leisure Limited sold the building in September 2018.

Strangeways Brewery was a landmark in Manchester, England, just north of the city centre, which was famous as the home of Boddingtons Bitter. It closed in 2005 and was demolished in 2007.
