Black Friar, Salford

Blackfriars is an outer-city suburb of Salford in Greater Manchester, England. It is situated along the banks of the River Irwell, close to the traditional centre of Salford at Greengate, between Manchester City Centre and Broughton. Blackfriars contains Blackfriars Park, one of Salford's smaller parks, and is home to the Friars Primary School.Due to slum clearance very few buildings in Blackfriars now predate the 1960s. One notable exception is the 1871-built tavern on Blackfriars Road, which has now been converted into homes for shared ownership.

Manchester Tennis and Racquet Club is a sports club based in Salford just outside Manchester and is the oldest sports facility in Greater Manchester to have retained its use to the present day.

Threlfalls Brewery is a Grade II listed building on Cook Street, Salford, England, built in 1896 to the design of W.A. Deighton for Chester's Brewery Company.The brewery premises, comprising two-storey offices, copper room, maturing room, single-storey boiler room, chimney and five-storey tower, were built in pressed red brick with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roofs.

The Eagle Inn is a Grade II listed public house on Collier Street in Salford, England. Dated 1902 and built in an Edwardian Baroque style, it is rated by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) for having an interior of "special national historic importance". Some sources suggest an earlier pub on the site by 1848, though this is not reflected in the official listing. An attached former terraced house has since been adapted for use as a live music venue.

Greengate is the original historic core of Salford and sits within the easternmost part of the City of Salford. Greengate is currently experiencing a period of intensive development activity and growth, benefiting from its location just across the River Irwell from the City of Manchester.

Bankside at Colliers Yard is a residential high-rise building under construction in the Greengate area of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The building is part of developer Renaker's Greengate masterplan called Colliers Yard, which consists of three adjacent towers, the others being Cortland which topped out in July 2022, and Parkside which was granted planning permission in March 2023. When completed, at 129 m (423 ft), it will be the third-tallest building in Salford and the 10th-tallest building in Greater Manchester. It was designed by Denton Corker Marshall.

The King's Arms is a Grade II listed public house on Bloom Street in Salford, England. Built in 1879 in a Gothic style, it replaced an earlier King's Arms that stood on the opposite side of the road and was licensed from 1807. In the early 2010s it gained a reputation as a hub for artistic activity, including during a lease held by musician Paul Heaton, and it now incorporates a theatre space that hosts a programme of performances and related events.

Sacred Trinity Church is an Anglican parish church on Chapel Street in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. Founded in 1635, it is the oldest surviving church in Salford and the only church in the country dedicated under the title Sacred Trinity. Largely rebuilt in 1752, the building has since undergone several major phases of alteration and restoration, resulting in a mixture of Jacobean, Georgian, Victorian, and early 20th‑century architectural elements. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade II* listed building.

The Former Public Baths (also known as Greengate Public Baths or Collier Street Baths) is a Grade II* listed building on Collier Street in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It was designed by Thomas Worthington and built in 1855 as one of the region's earliest public bathing facilities, reflecting Victorian efforts to improve urban health. After closing as baths in the late 19th century, it served as a warehouse for much of the 20th century before falling into disuse. As of 2025, it remains on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register, rated in very bad condition with no agreed solution.

The Punch Bowl (officially listed as No. 81 Chapel Street and No. 4 Booth Street) is a Grade II listed former public house on Chapel Street in Salford, England. It was mainly built in 1817 as two separate pubs, which were later combined into a single premises and refronted in the late 19th century, although the date of the amalgamation is not recorded. The pub closed around 2010 and was subsequently converted to office use.
