Southside Park is a neighborhood in Sacramento, California, located immediately south of Downtown Sacramento. Its official borders are R Street to the north, W-X Freeway to the south, I-5 to the west, and 12th Street to the east. Southside Park is part of the City of Sacramento's South Side Historic District. A large park with a natural pond sits at the center of the community. The park hosts several annual celebrations and the popular Sunday Farmers Market is held all year south of the park under the overpass at W-X Streets.

The Lawrence Warehouse, located in Sacramento, California is a historic warehouse built between 1914 and 1915 in the Prairie School style. It has since been turned into the Warehouse Artist Lofts, a mixed-use apartment complex with 116 affordable housing units for Sacramento's artist community.

Student Senate for the California Community Colleges (SSCCC) was a task force established in 1988 by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges. SSCCC was originally known as the "Council of Student Body Governments" and then later as the "Student Senate". SSCCC operated under "Standing Rules" prescribed by the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges. SSCCC promoted access for current and future students to California public higher education in accordance with the California Master Plan for Higher Education. In 2020 the Board of Governors removed references to SSCCC from Section 50002 of the California Code of Regulations and from Section 333 of the Procedures and Standing Orders of the Board of Governors. SSCCC's functions have been assumed by a California nonprofit public benefit corporation named "Student Senate for California Community Colleges" (the incorporated SSCCC).

The California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) is the state agency tasked with administration and oversight of "state and federal programs for health care, social services, public assistance and rehabilitation" in the U.S. state of California. The agency is headed by the Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency, with headquarters in Sacramento. Many of the laws in the California Health and Safety Codes are enforced by it. On March 6, 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom nominated Mark Ghaly, MD, MPH to be Secretary of CHHS. The California State Senate unanimously confirmed Ghaly on June 17, 2019. Ghaly previously served as the director of health and social impact for Los Angeles County, deputy director of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, and medical director of the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Southeast Health Center. Ghaly earned his doctorate of medicine degree from Harvard Medical School and a master of public health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.CHHS was created from a reorganization of other California agencies, including the California Health and Welfare Agency which included the California Department of Health Services.

13th Street is a side platformed Sacramento RT Light Rail station in Downtown Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on March 12, 1987, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by all three RT light rail lines: Gold, Blue and Green, with the latter serving as the southern terminus. The station is located at 13th Street between Q and R Streets, and Regional Transit's Customer Service and Sales center is located just to the south of the station. A small rail yard named the "R Street Yard" is located to the west of the station. 13th Street station was the temporary terminal from March 12, 1987 to September 5, 1987 when it was extended to Butterfield.

8th & O is a split light rail station in the Sacramento RT Light Rail system, served by all three lines: Blue, Gold and Green Lines. It is located at the intersection of 8th and O Streets in Downtown Sacramento, California, with the split platforms located on each side of 8th Street where the line splits into one-way couplets. The station is near the historical and cultural district of the city.

Edmonds Field was home to the Sacramento Solons, the Pacific Coast League AAA team until 1960 when they moved to Hawaii. On April 12, 1964, prior to it being demolished to make way for a Gemco discount store, the last baseball game played there was an exhibition game between the San Francisco Giants and the Cleveland Indians. That game featured back-to-back home runs by Willie Mays and Willie McCovey, both hit over the towering walls in right center field.The field was located at the southeast corner of Broadway and Riverside Boulevard. A Target Store currently occupies the footprint of the former field and there is a plaque in the parking lot where home plate used to sit.

The California Hall of Fame honors individuals and families who embody California's innovative spirit and have made their mark on history. The hall and its exhibits are housed in The California Museum in Sacramento. The hall of fame was conceived by then–California First Lady Maria Shriver, who asked her friend artist Robert Graham to design and fabricate the award. Graham was inducted in 2008, the same award is being given today. It opened in 2006 with 13 charter enshrinees. Among the requirements, all inductees must have been a resident of California for at least five years. Furthermore, through their work and accomplishments, they should embody the spirit of California and the California Dream while also making a lasting, significant contribution to the state, nation and the world; and have inspired others to further their own dreams.

The California Museum is the state history museum of California, located in its capital city of Sacramento. It is dedicated to Californian history and the stories of California. The museum is home to the California Hall of Fame and has more than 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2) of exhibits, event facilities, and museological archives.

Archives Plaza is a side platformed Sacramento RT Light Rail station in Downtown Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on September 5, 1987, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by all three light rail lines: Gold, Blue and Green Lines. The station is located at O and 11th Streets (just one block south of the Capitol building). A variety of government buildings surround the station.

1021 O Street is a 10-story office building located in downtown Sacramento, two blocks south of the California State Capitol. Currently known as the Capitol Annex Swing Space, the building was built to house offices for the California State Legislature, the Governor of California, and other state officials during the replacement of the Capitol Annex, a 1952 office building attached to the east side of the Capitol. Prior to construction, the site was a parking lot. The Legislature authorized the project in 2018. Completion was in 2021, and offices were moved in December 2021 after the end of the 2021 legislative session, with the building opening to the public in January 2022. Compared to the old Annex, the Swing Space has larger offices, and is also more energy efficient, being designed to meet zero net carbon and zero net energy standards.The building contains hearing rooms on the first two floors, offices for Assemblymembers and State Senators on floors 3–8, and offices of the Governor and other statewide executive elected officials on floors 9–10. The building is open to the public, however, only three of the elevators (which use destination dispatch are available for public use, with the other three reserved for elected officials.

The Heilbron House is a historic mansion in Downtown Sacramento, California. Built in 1881, it was initially the home of August Heilbron, a cattle rancher, merchant, and landowner who came from Germany. The home is located just around the corner from Leland Stanford's iconic Stanford Mansion—marking the area as an upscale residential location for captains of industry. Heilbron hired Nathaniel Goodell, who also designed the home that later became the California Governor's Mansion. Costing $10,000 in all, the Heilbron House is one of the few remaining historic structures in an area that is now primarily populated with office buildings for the State of California.In the last 65 years, the mansion has served as a restaurant, bank, and art gallery, and now serves as an office for the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
