The Wallooskee River (also known as the Walluski River) is a tributary of the Youngs River, about 10 miles (16 km) long, in northwest Oregon in the United States. It drains a small area of the foothills of the Coast Range near the mouth of the Columbia River. The Youngs River is a tributary of the Columbia River. It rises southwest of Astoria in a northern Clatsop County at 46.108165°N 123.674857°W / 46.108165; -123.674857 (Wallooskee River source). It flows generally west in a winding course. About a mile (1.6 km) before its mouth, it receives the Little Wallooskee River from the right at 46.1423303°N 123.780417°W / 46.1423303; -123.780417 (Little Wallooskee River mouth) which flows about 2 miles (3.2 km) from its source at 46.1395532°N 123.735971°W / 46.1395532; -123.735971 (Little Wallooskee River source). The Wallooskee enters Youngs River from the east at the south end of Youngs Bay, approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Astoria.

It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in northwestern Clatsop County, 4 miles (6 km) south of Astoria along Oregon Route 202, the Nehalem Highway. It sits on the land between two rivers, the Youngs River to the west and the Wallooskee River to the north, extending to their confluence. The Youngs River is a tidal waterway leading to Youngs Bay at Astoria and thence the Columbia River.

Old Youngs Bay Bridge

The Old Youngs Bay Bridge is a bascule bridge across Youngs Bay in Astoria, Oregon, completed in 1921. Conde McCullough was responsible for designing this bridge, his first for Oregon. The bridge consists of two 75-foot (23 m) steel bascule leaves approached over a pile trestle and timber spans. It has a total length of 1,766 feet (538 m). The bridge features early versions of McCullough's signature accent elements, with Art Moderne concrete pylons topped by light fixtures flanking the landings at either end of the bridge.

Astoria Column

The Astoria Column is a tower in the northwest United States, overlooking the mouth of the Columbia River on Coxcomb Hill in Astoria, Oregon. Built in 1926, the concrete and steel structure is part of a 30-acre (12 ha) city park. The 125-foot (38 m)-tall column has a 164-step spiral staircase ascending to an observation deck at the top and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 1974.

Albert W. Ferguson House

The Albert W. Ferguson House is a house located in Astoria, Oregon, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Albert W. Ferguson (August 29, 1821 – February 21, 1891) was an Oregon carpenter and architect. He built many now-historic houses and other buildings in Oregon, particularly in Salem and Astoria. He moved to Astoria in 1876. While living in Astoria, he designed and built several homes and other buildings, including the first city hall, built in 1878, and the NRHP-listed Capt. J. H. D. Gray House. His youngest son, James Ernest Ferguson, built his father's house, but Albert W. collaborated with his son on the house's design.James Ernest Ferguson later partnered with Charles Houston to found Ferguson & Houston, an Astoria architectural and construction firm. The company designed and built many area homes and other buildings, including the Old Astoria City Hall, which was designed by Emil Schacht.Albert W. Ferguson, who was already ill at the time of the house's construction, resided in the house from its completion in 1886 until his death in 1891 from inflammatory rheumatism. Another son, Edward Z. Ferguson, was living in the house at that time and continued to do so until 1910. Albert's daughter, Ada, moved into the house with her husband, John N. Griffin, in 1910 and resided there until her death in 1937.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
