York Preparatory Academy is a public charter school authorized by the South Carolina Public Charter School District. Opened in 2010, York Preparatory Academy serves many students in York County, South Carolina from grades K-12 with some students from other nearby counties. York Preparatory Academy is located in Rock Hill, South Carolina in a suburban-rural transition area. In February 2014, York Preparatory Academy became the first public charter school in South Carolina to issue a non-profit bond through private investments, allowing the school to take ownership of the 42-acre campus, which has four large buildings, sports fields, and parking. The $30 million bond came to fruition in part due to the strong enrollment profile of the school. The current enrollment at the school is approximately 1500 students in grades K-12. York Preparatory Academy is one of the largest brick-and mortar public charter schools in the Carolinas.

Giordana Velodrome is a cycling track in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States. It opened in March 2012. The 250-meter track is made of concrete with a 42.5 degree embankment in the corners and a 17 degree embankment on the front and back straights. The velodrome is part of the Rock Hill Outdoor Center. U.S. national track cycling championships were held there in 2012 and 2013. The velodrome was designed by Ralph Schürmann, a cycling track architect from Münster, Germany. Giordana Velodrome is going to be the center of a recreational area, of which the construction is still in progress. Additional cycling venues, athletic fields, parks, gardens and greenspace are planned nearby.

Manchester Meadows Soccer Complex is a multi field soccer complex containing two stadiums located in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Winthrop Coliseum is a 6,100-seat multi-purpose arena in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built in 1982 and is home to the Winthrop University Eagles basketball and volleyball teams. The facility accommodates conventions, trade shows, concerts, special events, and other sporting tournaments.In 2015, a Democratic presidential candidate forum featuring Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley was scheduled to take place at the coliseum but was later moved to an alternative location on Winthrop University's campus. In 2016, then presidential candidate, Donald Trump held a rally at the Winthrop Coliseum. During the rally, a Muslim American woman who stood in silent protest was removed by police. The event sparked controversy and gained national media attention. In fall 2019, Canadian pop and r&b singer Alessia Cara (who won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2018) was scheduled to perform at the Coliseum for part of her The Pains of Growing Tour. However, the concert was cancelled due to low ticket sales. In 1988, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Rob Base, and Kid n' Play performed a concert at the Coliseum.

Eagle Field is a soccer-specific stadium located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States, on the campus of Winthrop University. The 1,500 seat stadium was built in 1997 and upgraded in 2001 and 2005. It is rated as one of the top soccer facilities in Metrolina. In 2013, Eagle Field and the Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro hosted the first MLS team in the upstate of South Carolina when the Chicago Fire Soccer Club came to town for the U.S. Open Cup.

The Winthrop Ballpark is a baseball venue in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It is home to the Winthrop Eagles baseball team of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. The venue has a capacity of 1,989 spectators.

York Technical College (York Tech) is a public community college in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It is part of the South Carolina Technical College System and one of three colleges in the city of Rock Hill. York Tech was established in 1964 and presently serves York, Chester, and Lancaster counties.

WRHI is a news/talk radio station in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It broadcasts on AM frequency 1340 kHz with a simulcast on 100.1 FM (via translator W261CY) and is under ownership of OTS Media Group. Its studios and transmitter are both located separately in Rock Hill.

Westminster Catawba Christian School (WCCS) is a private Christian school located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. A religious ministry started by Westminster Presbyterian Church, WCCS has two campuses. Red River is an unincorporated community in York County, South Carolina, United States. The community is surrounded by the city of Rock Hill along the Catawba River in the piedmont of South Carolina. It has not yet been annexed into the city of Rock Hill, but in the recent years the area surrounding the community have been annexed, because South Carolina has strict laws on cities annexing the surrounding areas of cities. Red River has an elevation of 548 feet.

McCorkle-Fewell-Long House is a historic home located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built prior to 1821, and extensively rebuilt about 1880, incorporating Queen Anne style elements. It is a two-story, five bay dwelling of heavy timber-frame construction sheathed with weatherboard and flushboard siding. It features a full-width front porch with square columns and decorative scrollwork. Located to the rear of the house is the former carriage house (c. 1900).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Rock Hill Galleria is an enclosed regional shopping mall for York, Chester, and Lancaster Counties. It is located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Opened in 1991, the mall features three anchors (Belk, Walmart, Dick's) and around 70 specialty shops there are only 29 stores inside the mall currently and most stores have been closed down since there is hardly any business inside this mall or the stores that closed down have gone out of business. The mall is currently managed by Warren Norman Company.
