Winthrop Ballpark

Winthrop Coliseum is a 6,100-seat multi-purpose arena in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built in 1982 and is home to the Winthrop University Eagles basketball and volleyball teams. The facility accommodates conventions, trade shows, concerts, special events, and other sporting tournaments.In 2015, a Democratic presidential candidate forum featuring Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley was scheduled to take place at the coliseum but was later moved to an alternative location on Winthrop University's campus. In 2016, then presidential candidate, Donald Trump held a rally at the Winthrop Coliseum. During the rally, a Muslim American woman who stood in silent protest was removed by police. The event sparked controversy and gained national media attention. In fall 2019, Canadian pop and r&b singer Alessia Cara (who won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2018) was scheduled to perform at the Coliseum for part of her The Pains of Growing Tour. However, the concert was cancelled due to low ticket sales. In 1988, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Rob Base, and Kid n' Play performed a concert at the Coliseum.

Eagle Field is a soccer-specific stadium located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States, on the campus of Winthrop University. The 1,500 seat stadium was built in 1997 and upgraded in 2001 and 2005. It is rated as one of the top soccer facilities in Metrolina. In 2013, Eagle Field and the Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro hosted the first MLS team in the upstate of South Carolina when the Chicago Fire Soccer Club came to town for the U.S. Open Cup.

McCorkle-Fewell-Long House is a historic home located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built prior to 1821, and extensively rebuilt about 1880, incorporating Queen Anne style elements. It is a two-story, five bay dwelling of heavy timber-frame construction sheathed with weatherboard and flushboard siding. It features a full-width front porch with square columns and decorative scrollwork. Located to the rear of the house is the former carriage house (c. 1900).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Charlotte Avenue–Aiken Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It encompasses seven contributing dwellings in the Oakland section of Rock Hill. The district developed between about 1891 and 1935. Architectural styles represented include Classical Revival, Queen Anne, and Bungalow. Contributing buildings are the Hughes Walker House, Paul D. Farris House, Roy Z. Thomas House, Wilson House (Ark of the Covenant), Armstrong-Mauldin House, and Bays-Blackman House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Winthrop College Historic District is a national historic district located on the campus of Winthrop University at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It encompasses 17 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure constructed between 1894 and 1943. Architectural styles represented include Gothic Revival, Richardsonian Romanesque, Classical Revival, and Colonial Revival. Notable buildings include the separately listed Tillman Hall and Withers Building, as well as Alumni House, Phelps Dormitory, Thurmond Building, Byrnes Auditorium, Johnson Hall, and the President's Residence.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Winthrop University is a public university in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was founded in 1886 by David Bancroft Johnson, who served as the superintendent of Columbia, South Carolina, schools. He received a grant from Robert Charles Winthrop, a philanthropist from Boston, Massachusetts and chair of the Peabody Education Board in Massachusetts, to establish the school. Since its inception, Winthrop has developed into a comprehensive university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees through five colleges and schools. The Carnegie Classification lists Winthrop among "Master's Colleges & Universities: Larger Programs." With approximately 6,000 students, it is the sixth largest university in South Carolina. The 100-acre (40.5 ha) main academic and residential campus is located in Rock Hill, 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina and 71 miles (114 km) north of Columbia, South Carolina. Fielding athletic teams known as Winthrop Eagles, the university participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of Big South Conference. The athletic program is known for its success in basketball, volleyball, tennis, and soccer.

York Preparatory Academy is a public charter school authorized by the South Carolina Public Charter School District. Opened in 2010, York Preparatory Academy serves many students in York County, South Carolina from grades K-12 with some students from other nearby counties. York Preparatory Academy is located in Rock Hill, South Carolina in a suburban-rural transition area. In February 2014, York Preparatory Academy became the first public charter school in South Carolina to issue a non-profit bond through private investments, allowing the school to take ownership of the 42-acre campus, which has four large buildings, sports fields, and parking. The $30 million bond came to fruition in part due to the strong enrollment profile of the school. The current enrollment at the school is approximately 1500 students in grades K-12. York Preparatory Academy is one of the largest brick-and mortar public charter schools in the Carolinas.

Stokes-Mayfield House is a historic home located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built in 1907, and is a two-story, frame residence with cross-gabled slate roof in the Neo-Classical style. The house features a two-story tetrastyle Corinthian order pedimented portico and a balcony with decorative iron brackets above the front door.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Anderson House is the former residence of John Gary Anderson, who was president of the Anderson Motor Company in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Bleachery Water Treatment Plant is a historic water treatment plant located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built in 1930, and is a one-story brick building and filtration/purification facility in the Colonial Revival style. The city of Rock Hill passed a bond issue to build Bleachery Water Treatment Plant, to support the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company investment by M. Lowenstein Company of New York.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
