Sveti Kuzam is a village located between Bakar and Rijeka in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia. The village is administered as a part of the City of Rijeka. The village was recorded on the 2011 Croatian census as a settlement named "Bakar" with a population of 240. The 2006 law on administrative divisions mentions no other settlement within the City of Rijeka. On 27 February 2014, Rijeka city council passed a decision to annex the settlement (named "Bakar-dio (Sv. Kuzam")) to the settlement of Rijeka.

The Rijeka Thermal Power Station (Croatian: Termoelektrana Rijeka, TE Rijeka, also known as TE Urinj) is an oil-fired power station east of Rijeka at Kostrena, Croatia. It was built between 1974 and 1978 and it has one generation unit with capacity of 320 MW. The height of the boiler house including its rooftop flue gas stack is 250 metres (820 ft).Turbine for the power station was supplied by Ansaldo Energia. Ansaldo Energia was also awarded engineering, procurement and construction contract. Boilers were supplied by Waagner-Biro.The power station is owned and operated by Hrvatska elektroprivreda. Its annual production varies, averaging 917 GWh, but only 141 GWh in 2011. It is expected to undergo decommissioning in 2020, but it is doubtful that it will remain operational until then because of its pollution problem. As of 2015, Rijeka Thermal Power Station is offline, ready to resume generation within 160 hours of notice. On 18 October 2022, it was unofficially reported that HEP plans to restart the operation of the power plant in order to cover the losses incurred during the energy crisis.

Škrljevo is a village in Primorje, Croatia, located north of Bakar. The population is 1,344 (census 2011). Škrljevo was mentioned by name for the first time during the reign of Petar Zrinski, in a document from 1667. Near the railway station are the remains of the church of St. Ambroza, demolished in 1907.

Sušak (in Italian Sussak) is a part of the city of Rijeka in Croatia, where it composes the eastern part of the city, separated from the city center by the Rječina river, which in former times served as an international border. Notable features of Sušak include the public beaches at Pećina and Glavanovo, along with the Tower Center shopping mall.

Stadion Krimeja is a football stadium in the Croatian city of Rijeka. It is named after the Krimeja neighbourhood where it is located. The stadium has served as the home ground for HNK Orijent since 1923. The capacity of the stadium is 3,500.

The Bakar mockery (Italian Beffa di Buccari), or Bakar raid, was a raid of the Italian Navy (Regia Marina) in the last year of World War I. Whilst it had little material effect on the war at sea, it was a particularly bold venture which had a welcome effect on Italian morale, which was at a low ebb following the defeat at Caporetto a few months prior.

The Orehovica interchange (Croatian: Čvor Orehovica) is a trumpet interchange in Rijeka, Croatia. The interchange represents the southern terminus of the A6 motorway and it connects the A6 route to the A7 motorway between Škurinje and Draga exits, also representing a part of Rijeka bypass. The interchange is a part of Pan-European corridor Vb. It also represents a junction of European routes E61 and E65.The interchange was originally executed as Zagreb–Rijeka motorway terminus exit, connecting the motorway to the city of Rijeka itself directly. Following construction of Rijeka bypass towards Škurinje (westward), the interchange was expanded, but it was still used as a motorway exit. Once the bypass, i.e. A7 motorway, was extended eastward to Sveti Kuzam, the motorway exit was scheduled to be cancelled. A subsequent intervention into the design documents allowed preservation of one directional ramp facilitating exit from the southbound A6 motorway at the interchange.

Trsat (Italian: Tersatto, Latin: Tarsatica) is part of the city of Rijeka, Croatia, with a historic castle or fortress in a strategic location and several historic churches, in one of which the Croatian noble Prince Vuk Krsto Frankopan is buried. Trsat is a steep hill, 138 m high, rising over the gorge of the Rječina river, about a kilometre away from the sea; strategically significant from the earliest times right up to the 17th century, it is today a major Christian pilgrimage centre and home to a statue of Pope John Paul II who came to Trsat as a Pilgrim in 2003. Today, the University of Rijeka's newly constructed campus lies in the western part of Trsat.

Bakar (Italian: Buccari; Hungarian: Szádrév) is a town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in western Croatia. The population of the town was 8,279 according to the 2011 Croatian census, including 1,473 in the titular settlement. Ninety percent of the population declared themselves Croats by ethnicity. The largest ethnic minority are the Serbs with 2.91% of the population. The old part of Bakar is situated on a hill overlooking the Bay of Bakar. Bakar is the Croatian word for "copper". Bakar is a port for bulk cargo and used to be known for its industrial complex that included a coke factory, which produced a considerable amount of pollution. Bakar's coke factory was closed in 1995 and the area's pollution has subsided significantly. The historical core of Bakar was registered as a cultural monument in 1968.

Kukuljanovo is a village in Croatia. Kukuljanovo is home to one of the largest industrial zones in Croatia. In the hinterland of Kukuljanovo are the picturesque villages of Plosna and Ponikve.

Dvorana Mladosti (English: Hall of Youth) is a sports hall in Rijeka, with sporting, cultural, business and entertainment events. The hall was built in Trsat in 1973. The size of the hall is 5,458 m2, and the surface of outer space is 10,486 m2. The main part of the hall consists of the main arena, two small halls for heating, a hall for judo, karate, weightlifting and billiards hall, and in the halls there are 4 dressing rooms, 2 fitness centres, office spaces and sports associations, press centre and catering facilities and retail spaces. The capacity of the hall is 2,960 seats and 1,000 standing places.

Trsat Castle (Croatian: Gradina Trsat) is a castle in Trsat, Croatia. It is thought that the castle lies at the exact spot of an ancient Illyrian and Roman fortress. The Croatian noble Vuk Krsto Frankopan is buried in one of the churches. The Trsat castle was completely reconstructed and renovated in the 19th century when the mausoleum of the military commander Laval Nugent was built in its interior. The courtyard of the castle has now been turned into a restaurant and many tourists visit the place during the summer months.
