Tvrdošovce (Hungarian: Tardoskedd) is a large village and municipality in the Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

Andovce (Hungarian: Andód) is a municipality and village in the Nové Zámky District of the south-west of Slovakia, in the Nitra Region.

Rastislavice (Hungarian: Dögös) is a village and municipality in the Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

Zemné (Hungarian: Szímő) is a village and municipality in the Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of south-western Slovakia. The village is known as the birthplace of inventor Ányos Jedlik.

Neded (Hungarian: Negyed) is a village and municipality in Šaľa District, in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

The Nitra (Slovak: Nitra, German: Neutra, Hungarian: Nyitra) is a river in western Slovakia. It flows into the Váh river in Komoča. Its source is in the Malá Fatra (Lesser Fatra) mountains north of Prievidza. The river Nitra passes through the towns of Bojnice, Topoľčany, Nitra and Nové Zámky. It is 166 km (103 mi) long and its basin size is 4,501 km2 (1,738 sq mi).: 72  The old branch of the Nitra, Stará Nitra, branches off near Nové Zámky and flows into the Váh close to its confluence with the Danube in Komárno.: 85 

Selice (Hungarian: Szelőce, formerly Sókszelőce; German: Seleuch) is a village and municipality in Šaľa District, in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

Uyvar Eyalet (Ottoman Turkish: ایالت اویوار; Eyālet-i Uyvar) was an eyalet of the Ottoman Empire. It was established during the reign of Mehmed IV. In 1663 the Ottoman expeditionary force led by Köprülü Fazıl Ahmed defeated the Habsburg Monarchy's garrison of the city of Uyvar (today known as Nové Zámky, Slovakia) and conquered the region. In 1664, they lost the northern part along with the fortresses Hlohovec, Nitra and Levice. The Peace of Vasvár recognised Ottoman control over the remaining part of the eyalet. It was returned to Austria after the signing of the Treaty of Karlowitz in 1699. Residents of Uyvar paid 50 Akçe per head for Jizya as compared with the standard rate of one gold ducat (equivalent in the period to around 200 Akçe). The province's payment of a yearly sum of 1,090,150 Akçe to the treasury by 20,183 non-Muslim Jizya payers, amounting to 50 Akçe per head.

Saint Trinity Chapel, popularly called Anton Dif Bernolák's Chapel, in Nové Zámky, Slovakia, was built in 1722 in the Baroque style. This chapel is located in a former stone cemetery of the town which was liquidated in 1872. Jakub Škultéty had it built to the God's fame. The Chapel is considered a tribute to the codifier of the standard Slovak language, teacher, priest and school supervisor Anton Bernolák. Although his grave has never been found, it is assumed that he is lying somewhere near the chapel. Anton Bif ernolák came to Nové Zámky on June 1, 1797 and he worked there for 16 years. As well as his duties as priest he acted as a school supervisor. He died in 1813. The chapel has been renovated several times, most recently in 1977.

Komoča (Hungarian: Kamocsa) is a village and municipality in the Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of south-west Slovakia.

Nové Zámky (; German: Neuhäus[e]l; Latin: Novum Castrum; is a town in Nové Zámky District in the Nitra Region of southwestern Slovakia.

Nové Zámky District (okres Nové Zámky) is a district in the Nitra Region of western Slovakia. Until 1918, the area of the district was split between several counties of the Kingdom of Hungary: the largest area in the north formed part of Nitra; an area in the south between Dvory nad Žitavou and Strekov formed part of Komárno; an area in the north-east around Veľké Lovce formed part of Tekov; a sizable area in the east formed part of Esztergom (Ostrihom); and a small area around Salka formed part of Hont County.
