Grande do Sul , on the night of November 19 , 2020 . The murder started a series of anti-racist protests in several Brazilian cities. João Alberto, a forty-year-old black man, worked as a service provider. He was buried on November 21 in Porto Alegre.Six people were indicted by the Public Ministry for homicide, including two security guards (one of them a temporary military police officer) and four Carrefour employees.

In 1945, Arno Friedrich started to divide his large property in Jardim Lindoia into many lots. According to the chronicler Ary Veiga Sanhudo, the name of the neighbourhood was chosen by Friedrich to make a tribute to "Lindoia", the heroine from "O Uraguai", by José Basílio da Gama. The word means "beautiful" in Guarani language. Jardim Lindoia is a middle class residential neighbourhood in Porto Alegre.

It was created by Law 2022 from December 7, 1959. The first inhabitants of this neighbourhood were Italian immigrants from Caxias do Sul. One of them was Giacomo Bernardi, who owned 30 hectare farm in the area, called Fazenda Moderna. Later it was divided into many lots. Cristo Redentor was named after its church, which was built in 1933, just two years after the inauguration of the famous statue in Rio de Janeiro. Two hospitals of Porto Alegre are located here.

The neighbourhood was named after the Paróquia Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora, whose building, inspired in the Église de la Madeleine in Paris, was constructed in 1961. Auxiliadora is also home to the Centro Cultural 25 de Julho, a German cultural centre. The neighbourhood embraces people from upper middle class to upper class, mainly the streets near Moinhos de Vento, some of them that in the past belonged to Moinhos de Vento and nowadays, by the current director's plan, belong to Auxiliadora.

With a 60,540 capacity (55,662 current official capacity), the stadium is one of the most modern venues in South America. In Sisbrace, the Brazilian Ministry of Sport's football stadium evaluation system, Arena do Grêmio received the highest rating in all aspects. Arena also received from UEFA a "Category Four" evaluation from UEFA's stadium categories, the only in Brazil. Even though it is one of the most modern stadiums in Brazil, it was not listed as a host of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, held in the country, but in 2019 Arena do Grêmio was selected as one of the venues for the 2019 Copa América where five matches were played in the stadium.

The College Anchieta is a private Catholic primary and secondary school located in Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The institution is one of the twenty-two works of the Society of Jesus in Southern Brazil. The school has more than three thousand students and approximately three hundred members on its staff.
