Customs Street

The Dilworth Building is a heritage mixed-use (residential apartments and shops on the ground floor) building at the corner of Customs Street and Queen Street in the Auckland CBD, New Zealand. The building by William Gummer & Reginald Ford was constructed between 1925 and 1927, and is listed as a "Historic Place - Category I" by Heritage New Zealand.At the lower entry to Queen Street, the building was once envisaged as one half of a 'gateway' to the city, and hailed as a visionary concept. However, the mirroring building on the opposite side of Queen Street was never constructed.

Commercial Bay Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in the Auckland CBD, Auckland, New Zealand. It is situated at 11–19 Customs Street West between Lower Albert Street and the Britomart Transport Centre. The centre was known as Downtown Shopping Centre, formerly Westfield Downtown, as a smaller shopping centre with 12,417 m2 gross lettable area In late 2012, it was sold by Westfield to Precinct Properties Holdings New Zealand Limited, formerly AMP NZ Office Limited (ANZO). The building closed on 28 May 2016 after 41 years, and by 23 November had been demolished. A high-rise and new mall building was built on the site, with the future City Rail Link tunnels going through the foundations of the building. The development is named "Commercial Bay", referring to the area's previous name in the 1900s. The first shop of the new Commercial Bay development, an H&M store, was opened in August 2018. Following multiple delays, the main shopping mall of the new Commercial Bay development was completed in June 2020.

Waitematā railway station, commonly known as Britomart railway station or Britomart Transport Centre, is the public transport hub in the central business district of Auckland and the northern terminus of the North Island Main Trunk railway line. It combines a railway station in a former Edwardian post office, extended with expansive modernist architectural elements, with a bus interchange. It is at the foot of Queen Street, the main commercial thoroughfare of the CBD, with the main ferry terminal just across Quay Street. The centre was the result of many design iterations, some of them being substantially larger and including an underground bus terminal and a large underground car park. Political concerns and cost implications meant that those concepts did not proceed. However, at the time of its inception in the early 2000s the centre was still Auckland's largest transport project ever, built to move rail access closer to the city's CBD and help boost Auckland's low usage of public transport. It is one of the few underground railway stations in the world designed for use by diesel trains, although their use is now prohibited. Diesel trains from Hamilton and Wellington terminate at The Strand station, where a connecting bus continues onto Britomart.Initially seen as underused and too costly, it is now considered a great success, heading for capacity with the growing uptake of rail commuting. Limitations on further patronage are primarily due to the access tunnel from the east which provides only two rail tracks, and the lack of a through connection via a rail link to the North Shore or to the Western line via a tunnel, which would change it into a through station. A tunnel to the Western Line is now under construction, as part of the City Rail Link project. In March 2023, following a joint submission to the New Zealand Geographic Board by Auckland Transport and Auckland Council, the station was officially re-named Waitematā railway station.

PwC Tower at Commercial Bay is a mixed-use office tower and retail development in Auckland, New Zealand, completed and officially opened in June 2020.The development consists of a 41-floor office tower with leasable floors, three mechanical floors, one floor reserved for meeting suites/pods, and a SkyLobby, and a retail precinct with 18,000 m2 (190,000 sq ft) of retail space, replacing the Westfield Group Downtown Shopping Centre, which was previously located on the site.The PwC tower is the currently tallest building in New Zealand and the second tallest structure in Auckland behind the Sky Tower.

The former Imperial Hotel is located at the corner of Fort and Queen Street in Auckland, New Zealand. It was built in 1883 and is now a notable example of Victorian architecture. The building was registered as a category II heritage structure by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (now Heritage New Zealand) in 1987. The building's current use is as a backpackers hostel, pub, and communal lounge.

A Māori Figure in a Kaitaka Cloak (formerly known as Maori Warrior), by Molly Macalister is a bronze sculpture located on Quay Street, across from the Auckland Ferry Terminal in New Zealand. It was the first public art commission awarded to a woman in New Zealand to receive, and was unveiled in June 1967.

On the morning of 20 July 2023, a mass shooting occurred at a building construction site in the central business district of Auckland. The shooter, 24-year-old Matu Tangi Matua Reid, killed two work colleagues with a shotgun, wounded seven other people, including a police officer, and then killed himself.A separate, unrelated, fatal shooting also took place in the Auckland CBD, on the same street, two weeks later on 3 August 2023.

The Deloitte Centre is a skyscraper office tower located in Auckland, New Zealand. Built between 2006–2009, it contains 18 levels of offices as well as 4 basement car parks and 3 levels of plant, and a special two storey high architectural feature on the top giving a total height of 100 meters. The building will have 5 stars in the 'Green Star' environmental rating.

The Pacifica is a residential skyscraper in Auckland, New Zealand. Completed in 2020, it is the tallest residential building in New Zealand, surpassing The Metropolis, but is set to be overtaken in 2024 by the 187 m (614 ft) Seascape. The building overlooks Auckland city and the surrounding harbour at 178.7 metres (586 ft) and 57 floors in height. The top two floors of the building contained a penthouse that sold for NZ$40 million making it the most expensive apartment ever sold in New Zealand. In June 2021, The Pacifica won "Best Residential High Rise Development New Zealand" and "Best Apartment / Condominium New Zealand" in the international property awards.

The Auckland Ferry Terminal, also called the Downtown Ferry Terminal, is the hub of the Auckland ferry network, which connects the Auckland CBD with suburbs in North Shore, West Auckland, and South Auckland, and islands in the Hauraki Gulf. The terminal is on the Auckland waterfront, at the north end of Queen Street, across Quay Street from the Britomart Transport Centre, which is the hub for local buses and trains. The ferry terminal is composed of two main elements, a yellow Edwardian Baroque building facing Queen Street and the CBD, and newer wharves and a waiting area building (the actual ferry terminal of today) facing the Waitematā Harbour.

Shortland Street was the initial commercial street of Auckland and remains a key financial and legal centre for Auckland city. It runs east from Queen Street up to Princes Street, providing a connection from the business district to the Auckland High Court and University of Auckland.
