Dillard University

Dillard is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Gentilly District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: Mirabeau Avenue to the north, Elysian Fields Avenue to the east, Benefit Street and I-610 to the south and Paris Avenue, Pratt Drive and the London Avenue Canal to the west.

Brother Martin High School is a private, Catholic, all-boys college preparatory school run by the United States Province of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was established by the brothers in 1869 as St. Aloysius College. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans.

St. Augustine High School (also known as "St. Aug") is a private, Catholic, all-boys high school run by the Josephites in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was founded in 1951 and includes grades 8 through 12.

The City Park Cross Country Course is a cross country course in City Park in New Orleans. The 2.00 mile/3.22 km grass loop cross country course is all flat and starts near the corner of Wisner Boulevard and Harrison Avenue.The course is the home course for the Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets men's and women's cross country teams.

The 8th Ward is a section of New Orleans, Louisiana. It is one of the Downtown Wards of New Orleans, with a Creole history. The 8th Ward is a narrow strip stretching from the Mississippi River on the south to Lake Pontchartrain in the north. East, or "down," is the 9th Ward, the boundary being Franklin Avenue, Almonaster Avenue, then People's Avenue, and a line straight north into the Lake at part of the University of New Orleans campus. A subdistrict of the Mid-City District Area, its boundaries as defined by the New Orleans City Planning Commission were: Harrison Avenue to the north, Paris Avenue to the east, Lafreniere Street and Florida Avenue to the south and Bayou St. John to the west.

Gentilly Terrace is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Gentilly District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: Filmore Avenue to the north, People's Avenue to the east, Dahlia Walk and Benefit Street to the south and Elysian Fields Avenue to the west. Gentilly Terrace may be further divided into Gentilly Terrace & Gardens, Edgewood Park and Fairmont Park, all three of which possess organized, distinct, and active neighborhood associations.

St. Roch is a neighborhood of the U.S. city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Bywater District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: Lafreniere Street, Paris Avenue, I-610, Benefit Street, and Dahlia Walk to the north; People's and Almonaster Avenues to the east; St. Claude Avenue to the south; Elysian Fields Avenue, Hope, Frenchmen, Duels, St. Anthony, Industry, Allen, & Agriculture Streets, A.P. Tureaud Avenue, Abundance, Republic, Treasure, & Dugue Streets, and Florida & St. Bernard Avenues to the west.

Fairgrounds is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Mid-City District Area, its boundaries as defined by the New Orleans City Planning Commission are: Florida Avenue, Dugue, Treasure, Republic and Abundance Streets to the north, North Broad Street to the east, Esplanade Avenue to the south and Bayou St. John to the west.

The London Avenue Canal is a drainage canal in New Orleans, Louisiana, used for pumping rain water into Lake Pontchartrain. The canal runs through the 7th Ward of New Orleans from the Gentilly area to the Lakefront. It is one of the three main drainage canals responsible for draining rainwater from the main basin of New Orleans. The London Avenue Canal's flood walls built atop earthen levees breached on both sides during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The 7th Ward (Seventh Ward) is a legally defined voting ward and a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. A sub-district of the Mid-City District Area, its boundaries as defined by the New Orleans City Planning Commission are: A.P. Tureaud Avenue, Agriculture, Allen, Industry, St. Anthony, Duels, Frenchmen and Hope Streets to the north, Elysian Fields Avenue to the east, St. Claude and St. Bernard Avenues, North Rampart Street and Esplanade Avenue to the south, and North Broad Street to the west. The voting ward is geographically the third largest of the 17 Wards of New Orleans, after the 9th Ward and 15th Ward.

The New Orleans Yacht Club (NOYC) was founded in June 1949 and is dedicated to further the sport of yacht racing, marine safety and seamanship. The club is located at West End's Municipal Yacht Harbor on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain and is a member of the Gulf Yachting Association since 1953.Since its founding, New Orleans Yacht Club has been home to many regional and national regattas as well as sailing champions. The club annually hosts or co-hosts over 30 regattas on the lake and its membership is actively involved in many regional and national regattas, including hosting Mardi Gras Race Week and the Bastille Day Regatta. The club holds one of the largest Wednesday Night Racing regatta series in the United States with on average 50 boats participating weekly throughout daylight saving time and has an active junior sailing program.
