Royal Air Force Scampton or RAF Scampton (formerly IATA: SQZ, ICAO: EGXP) is a former Royal Air Force station located adjacent to the A15 road near to the village of Scampton, Lincolnshire, and 6 miles (9.7 km) north-west of the city of Lincoln, England.RAF Scampton stood on the site of a First World War Royal Flying Corps landing field, which had been called Brattleby. The station was closed and returned to agriculture following the First World War, and reactivated in the 1930s. It has provided an airfield for fighters in the First World War, bombers during the Second World War and V-force Avro Vulcans during the Cold War. The station was temporarily closed in 1996, but subsequently re-opened to provide a home for the RAF Aerobatic Team the Red Arrows, and to private companies, temporarily, such as Hawker Hunter Aviation, for the maintenance and storage of aircraft.In July 2018, the Ministry of Defence announced that Scampton would close and be sold, with all units relocated elsewhere. The station closed on 31 March 2023.

South Carlton is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the B1398 road, approximately 2 miles (3 km) north from the city and county town of Lincoln. The population (including Broxholme) at the 2011 census was 168.

Riseholme Hall is an early 18th-century country house in Riseholme, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England. It was designed by William Railton and is a grade II listed buildingFrom about 1840 until 1887, it served as the official residence for the Bishop of Lincoln, and subsequently was privately owned. After World War II, the building was occupied by the Lindsey College of Agriculture, now known as Riseholme College, part of Bishop Burton College.Riseholme Park and Riseholme Hall have been owned by the University of Lincoln since 1994. Riseholme College is independent of the University of Lincoln, although the college shares some facilities on the estate. It was the birthplace of English travel writer, novelist and explorer, Rosita Forbes, née Joan Rosita Torr (16 January 1890 – 30 June 1967). The grounds of the hall are also grade II listed.

North Carlton is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 172. It is situated about 5 miles (8.0 km) north from the city and county town of Lincoln. The church of Saint Luke is a Grade II listed building dating from the 15th century, although it was largely rebuilt in the early 1770s.

Riseholme is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish was 450 at the 2011 census. It is situated approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) north from Lincoln.

Grange de Lings is a civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 3 miles (5 km) north from the city centre of the county town of Lincoln. Grange de Lings is often quoted as the address for the Lincolnshire Showground, just off the west of the A15, but the parish actually lies entirely east of the A15, and the Lincolnshire Showground is in the parish of North Carlton. The parish is sometimes hyphenated as Grange-de-Lings. The north-western corner of the parish is at the A1500 junction with the A15, at a roundabout. The boundary follows Horncastle Lane eastwards where it neighbours Welton, to the north. At Dunholme, it follows southwards across the old runways of RAF Dunholme Lodge, of which the western end was in Grange de Lings. It briefly meets Scothern, and a small section of the parish extends between Scothern and Nettleham, to meet the A46, which it follows for around 200 metres. The boundary with Nettleham passes westwards, then south-west across Hall Lane, then meets Riseholme, where it follows a line due west to the A15 (Ermine Street), meeting South Carlton just south of the pylons across the A15. The western boundary of the parish is the A15, and just north of Watering Dyke Houses, it meets North Carlton at the perimeter fence of the Lincolnshire Showground (wholly outside the parish). There is an oil well in the north of the parish, next to the boundary with Welton, part of the East Midlands Oil Province. The parish has no parish church, but is part of the St Mary's church in the Riseholme with Grange de Lings parish, looked after by Nettleham parish, where the vicar is based. Grange-de-Lings in this respect is known as an extra-parochial district. For statistical and administrative purposes, it is joined with Riseholme (similar to the religious parish)

Burton is a civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. Its core settlement is Burton-by-Lincoln. a village situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) north of the city of Lincoln. The village sits on the side of the Lincoln Cliff, which overlooks the River Trent Valley. The population of the parish at the 2011 census was 625.Burton-by-Lincoln's Grade II listed Anglican church is dedicated to St Vincent of Saragossa. It is part of Springline ecclesiastical parish, which comprises nine churches in twelve communities to the north of Lincoln.

Riseholme College is a Further and Higher Education college in Lincolnshire, specialising in land-based subjects such as Agriculture, Equine and Animal Management. It is a part of Bishop Burton College and is based across two campuses - the Riseholme Park campus and the Showground campus, both near Lincoln. It was known as the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture alongside its sister site of Caythorpe Court near Grantham, before being renamed in 2007. After which the two site were merged and Caythorpe was closed.

Scampton is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish including Brampton and Broadholme at the 2011 census was 1,358. It is situated 8 km (5 mi) north of Lincoln, 16 km (10 mi) south-east of Gainsborough, and immediately west of the A15. In the civil parish, between the village and the A15, is RAF Scampton, to which the parish lends its name. The airfield first opened in 1916 as Home Defence Flight Station Brattleby, becoming Scampton the following year, and then closing in 1919; it re-opened in 1936 as RAF Scampton.

Aisthorpe is a small village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. Aisthorpe is recorded as Æstorp in 1086, probably meaning "the secondary settlement to the east" from the Old English east and Old Danish thorp.It is situated between Scampton and Brattleby on the B1398, a small back road to the west of, and parallel to, the A15 northern section of Ermine Street out of Lincoln.Aisthorpe, or East Thorpe, is listed in the 1086 Domesday Book as consisting of 12 households.The parish church is a Grade II listed building dedicated to Saint Peter and was built in 1867 by T. C. Hine of Nottingham.Aisthorpe Hall is a Grade II listed country house dating from the 17th century, with later additions. The Hall also has an 18th-century Grade II listed stable block.

Lincoln Castle Academy is a secondary school with academy status located on the north side of the historic city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England. It is situated a couple of miles due north of Lincoln Castle, and just west of the Ermine Street Roman road heading north out of Lincoln towards the Humber estuary.
