Country Homes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Spokane County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,841 at the 2010 census. The campus of Whitworth University is located in Country Homes.

Riverpoint Academy (RA) is a four-year high school operated by the Mead School District, Spokane, Washington, United States. Riverpoint is a STEM School, with an enrollment of about 200 students. The school was established in 2012 with 75 students on the then-named Riverpoint Campus (its namesake) near Downtown Spokane with the vision of harnessing the synergies created with the university community, including access to university libraries, some college-level classes taught by university faculty, and mentors from the local business community.The school occupied space in the then-named Innovate Washington Building, originally the SIRTI Building, and remained there for one year, before outgrowing the space and relocating to its current location within school district's attendance boundaries in the fall of 2013.On May 7, 2019, the Mead School Board approved $11.3 million in budget cuts resulting in a temporary two-year suspension, and soon thereafter, a permeant shutdown of Riverpoint Academy. The budget cuts were said to be related to budget shortfalls created by the abrupt effects of the McCleary Decision that affected many school districts in Washington.

Nevada Heights is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington, located on the north side of the city. Its southern border is atop a bluff that runs east–west across the north side of the city, which gives the neighborhood its name. Nevada Street, a major north–south arterial, runs through the neighborhood. The neighborhood is largely residential, but also home to large retail districts, medical facilities, schools and parks. Being surrounded by the city of Spokane on all sides, the neighborhood is well integrated into urban area.

The shopping mall first opened in 1955 as an open-air center and has been expanded several times, with its biggest expansion occurring between 1989 and 1991. The mall is currently anchored by Barnes & Noble, Get Air Trampoline Park, J. C. Penney, Kohl's, Marshalls, and Regal Cinemas.

John R. Rogers High School is a four-year public secondary school in Bemiss, Spokane, Washington, part of Spokane Public Schools (District No. 81). Opened in 1932 in northeast Spokane, the school is named after John Rankin Rogers, the third governor of the State of Washington. The 90,000-square-foot (8,400 m2) school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 2011. In September 2009, extensive renovation was completed on the school, adding another 170,000 square feet (16,000 m2) to the three-story Art Deco structure.Two movies have been filmed on location at the school: Vision Quest in 1984, and the thriller Hangman's Curse in 2002. Both movies included hundreds of current and former members of the student body of Rogers High School as extras, as well as former members of the Pirates championship wrestling team, including award-winning coach and social studies teacher, Ken Pelo.

Whitworth University is a private, Christian university affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and located in Spokane, Washington. Founded in 1890, Whitworth enrolls nearly 3,000 students and offers more than 100 graduate and undergraduate programs.Whitworth competes athletically at the NCAA Division III level in the Northwest Conference as the Pirates. As the name suggests, it is atop a hill on the north side of Spokane, within which it is centrally located and crossed by numerous major thoroughfares. It is home to parks, commercial districts and single family residential areas. It is located to the southeast of the Hillyard neighborhood and is often grouped into greater Hillyard.The neighborhood is named for David Bemiss, an early settler in the area and superintendent of schools in Spokane.
