Millbrook Community School

Maybush is a district in the city of Southampton, England. Located in the western side of the city, Maybush is the former location of the Ordnance Survey head office and approximately occupies the SU3814 kilometer square. It is in the Southampton Test parliamentary constituency.

Oasis Academy Lord's Hill is an Academy situated in the city of Southampton, Hampshire and specialises in Arts. Oasis Academy Lord's Hill replaced Millbrook Community School and Oaklands Community School which both closed in August 2008.

Oaklands Community School was a mixed comprehensive school in west Southampton, Hampshire, in the south of England. The school served the Lordshill community from 1983 to 2008 for 11 to 16-year-olds. In its later years during 2005 and 2008 it became a specialist Arts College. The most recent Ofsted inspection was 27 September 2004, when the school was praised, the introduction to the report reading "Oaklands Community School is a very good school. Its exceptional egalitarian ethos ensures that all students are treated with care, respect and encouragement. Very strong leadership, a commitment to equality of opportunity, improvement and raised standards combined with a good quality of education for all students result in a school which provides good value for money."According to the Department of Education performance tables, the school obtained the fourth-highest CVA score in the city. This is a new, complex Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 contextual value added (CVA) score designed to show the progress children have made. This is done by comparing their achievements with those of other pupils nationally who had the same or similar prior attainment in their test results at age 10 or 11 in 2001.

Rownhams is a village in Hampshire, England, situated just outside the boundaries of the City of Southampton, to the north-west. It is in the civil parish of Nursling and Rownhams. Rownhams services is a nearby service station on the M27 motorway that runs to the north of the village. The village consists of over 1200 homes. Rownhams house, a Georgian mansion, is now a business park and wedding venue, The parish church is St John the Evangelist. There is a community centre, a primary school, two pre-schools and a hairdressing salon. The village is planned to grow in the next few years as several planning applications are either in the system or have been approved. For many years the parish and village has been combined with Nursling and also Toothill, which were once separate independent villages. Hence, for example, the churches are joined in the joint parish of Nursling and Rownhams with one incumbent and run by one parochial church council.The village has been twinned with the village of Percy-en-Auge in Normandy since 1988.Many of the activities and facilities are shared between Rownhams and Nursling, e.g. Ladies' night, two Brownie packs, a full set of groups of Scouts, a friendship club for "senior residents", Retired Men's Fellowship and a toddler group. Also a badminton club, an amateur astronomers' group, who use an observatory at Toothill, a writers' group, "Coffee Break" - a drop in for anybody home alone, a carer or being cared for in the community, and a dance school.

Tanner's Brook is a 7-kilometre (4.3 mi) river that rises in North Baddesley and flows to Southampton Water. The brook's name comes from a 19th-century tannery that stood close to where the river passed under Millbrook Road in Millbrook.The longest tributary of Tanner's Brook is Hollybrook which joins it in Shirley. Above where the two streams join they both flow through sections of Lordsdale Greenway. On its lower course Tanner's Brook flows through Millbrook and is probably the brook that gives Millbrook its name. Within Millbrook a small section of the river was culverted during the construction of the Salisbury and Southampton Canal. This was filled with concrete in 1964 as part of a flood relief project.Originally the river was joined on the mudflats of Southampton Water by Wimpson Stream but with the mudflats being reclaimed by the expanding docks the Wimpson Stream now joins Tanner's Brook before it reaches Southampton Water.

Redbridge Community School is a mixed secondary school in west Southampton, Hampshire, in the south of England. The school previously held specialist school status as Sports College. Today it is a foundation school administered by Southampton City Council and the Reach Cooperative Trust.
