Shotwick

St Michael's Church is the Church of England parish church of Shotwick, Cheshire, England. It a Grade I listed building. It has a Norman doorway but most of the church is Gothic. Its furniture includes some ancient items. In the churchyard are several structures that are Grade II listed. The church is an active parish church in the Diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Wirral South. Its benefice is combined with that of St Nicholas, Burton.

Shotwick Hall is a former manor house in the village of Shotwick, Cheshire, England. It replaced an earlier manor house that stood on a moated site some 150 metres to the west. The hall and four associated structures are listed buildings, and the moated site is a Scheduled Monument.

Puddington Hall is a country house in the village of Puddington, Cheshire, England. It was built between 1872 and 1874 for Sir Rowland Stanley Errington, and altered in about 1904. It has since been divided into two houses. The older part of the house is constructed in red sandstone; the later part is partly timber-framed and partly pebbledashed. It is roofed with stone slates. The house is in two storeys plus attics, with an entrance front of six bays. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Sealand was the final station on the former Chester & Connah's Quay Railway between Chester Northgate and Hawarden Bridge. Services also passed through this station before joining the North Wales and Liverpool Railway. Located 200 metres (660 ft) west of the A550 near RAF Sealand, the station was just before a triangular junction at Dee marshes which controlled rail services from North Wales, Liverpool and Cheshire.

Puddington is a village and civil parish on the Wirral Peninsula, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is located to the south east of the town of Neston and close to the border with Wales.Puddington has as its centrepiece a village green which hosts the annual Christmas carol service and summer barbecue. In the 2001 census the village of Puddington had 325 inhabitants, which had risen to 381 by the 2011 census.

MoD Sealand (formerly RAF Sealand), is a Ministry of Defence installation in Flintshire, in the northeast corner of Wales, close to the border with England. It is a former Royal Air Force station, active between 1916 and 2006. Under defence cuts announced in 2004 RAF Sealand was completely closed in April 2006. All remaining RAF units were moved to RAF Leeming, and the site is now operated as a tri-service MoD installation.

Shotwick Castle is a Norman medieval fortification near the village of Saughall, Cheshire, England. Construction began in the late 11th century. Its purpose was to control a crossing point on the River Dee between England and Wales. The site is a scheduled monument. No masonry features remain above ground except for earthworks.

Garden City (Welsh: Dinas Gardd) is a village in the Sealand area of Flintshire, Wales. The village began as a planned community for workers at the nearby steel works in Shotton, in accordance with company policy to give their workers decent housing. The village was originally intended to be called "Sealand Garden Suburb" and was planned to be four times bigger, but construction was halted by the advent of the First World War.Wirral band OMD recorded the 1984 track "Garden City", a successor to 1981's "Sealand".

Shotwick Park is a small settlement and former civil parish, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Located between the villages of Shotwick and Saughall, it is approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) north west of Chester and close to the Welsh border. The civil parish was abolished on 1 April 2015 to form Saughall and Shotwick Park, with part also incorporated into the parish of Puddington.The area is the location of the remnants of Shotwick Castle (grid reference SJ349704), built about 1093 by Hugh Lupus, 1st Earl of Chester. This Norman motte and bailey fortification was constructed as part of the Welsh border defences in the area. The land surrounding the castle became enclosed as a park in 1327. By the 1620s, the castle was in a ruinous condition.According to the 1831 edition of A Topographical Dictionary of England, Shotwick Park was "an extra-parochial liberty" within the Wirral Hundred. The liberty comprised "970 acres, the soil of which is clay." It became a civil parish in 1858. The population was recorded at 25 in 1801, 13 in 1851, 8 in 1901, 78 in 1951 and 56 in 2001.Shotwick Park is a rural residential area with communal amenities provided in the nearby village of Saughall. A small industrial estate development also exists at Shotwick Park.

Woodbank is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Puddington, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire in northwest England. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula, about 6 miles northwest of the city of Chester and near the larger village of Saughall. In 2001 the parish had a population of 62.
