Live Oak Brewing Company located in Austin, Texas, is a locally owned and operated brewery. The brewery produces four year-round beers as well as nearly 20 more seasonal (or limited release) beers. Live Oak beers are available on draft across Texas at bars and restaurants. In 2016, Live Oak began canning their beers for retail sale at grocery, liquor, and convenience stores across the state. While Live Oak uses industry standard step mashing for most of their beers, they use a more difficult and rarely used old world style of mashing known as decoction mashing for a few of their beers, most notably the Live Oak Pilz and the Oaktoberfest. Live Oak uses large, horizontal dairy tanks as fermenting vessels instead of the more traditional cylindroconical fermenters. From 1997 to 2015, the brewery was run out of rented industrial space on East 5th Street in central Austin. In December 2015, the company relocated to a new brewery and taproom facility built on 20 acres (81,000 m2) of undeveloped land on the Colorado river just north of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Construction of the new facility took 11 months. The Live Oak Brewing Company Taproom & Biergarten is family-friendly and open to the public, home of The Black Forest food truck, group events, public brewery tours, beer release parties, art markets, trivia nights, beer and food events, Rolling Roadshows, and more. In 2018, Chip and head-brewer, Dusan Kwiatkowski, traveled to Grodzisk Wielkopolski, Poland, to learn more about the beer-making traditions of the Grodziskie style beer. Together with Browar Grodzisk a collaboration beer was born, Grodziskie Imperialne, with stronger notes of oak smoke and bitterness exceeding the Grodzisk standards.In 2019, Live Oak Brewing took home a bronze medal from The Great American Beer Festival for their Hefeweizen.

Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, or ABIA (IATA: AUS, ICAO: KAUS, FAA LID: AUS, formerly BSM), is a Class C international airport in Austin, Texas, United States, serving the Greater Austin metropolitan area. Located about 5 miles (8 km) southeast of downtown Austin, it covers 4,242 acres (1,717 ha) and has two runways and three helipads.It is on the site of what was Bergstrom Air Force Base, named after Captain John August Earl Bergstrom, an officer who was the first person from Austin to be killed in World War II. The base was decommissioned in the early 1990s, and the land reverted to the city, which used it to replace Robert Mueller Municipal Airport as Austin's main airport in 1999. The airport is the third busiest in Texas, after Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston–Intercontinental. As of 2018, there are 510 arrivals and departures on the typical weekday to 76 destinations in North America and Europe.

Gigafactory Texas (also known as Giga Texas, Giga Austin, or Gigafactory 5) is an automotive manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas built by Tesla, Inc. Construction began in July 2020, limited production of Model Y began before the end of 2021, and initial deliveries of vehicles built at the factory took place at an opening party called “Cyber Rodeo” on April 7, 2022.The factory produces Model Y cars for the Eastern United States and is also planned to be the main factory for the Cybertruck and the company's next-generation vehicle. It also serves as the site of Tesla's corporate headquarters. Tesla employs over 20,000 people at the factory and expects to eventually have a staff of 60,000 as production ramps up. It is the country's second biggest factory by size as well as the second-largest building by volume in the world after the Boeing Everett Factory.

KLBJ (590 AM) is a commercial radio station in Austin, Texas, airing a news/talk radio format. It is owned by Sinclair Telecable Inc. (not related to television broadcaster Sinclair Broadcast Group) and operated under the name Waterloo Media. It was once owned by the family of President Lyndon Baines Johnson, and still carries his initials in its call letters. It is Central Texas' primary entry point station for the Emergency Alert System. The station has studios and offices along Interstate 35 in Austin. Its transmitter site is located near the Colorado River, off Platt Lane, in Travis County. KLBJ operates with 5,000 watts by day. At night, to avoid interfering with other stations on AM 590 it reduces power to 1,000 watts and uses a directional antenna. It also simulcasts its programming on FM translator station K259AJ at 99.7 MHz.

Moore's Crossing is an unincorporated community in Travis County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 25 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area.

Moore's Crossing Historic District is a community located in rural Travis County nine miles southeast of Austin, Texas near the Austin–Bergstrom International Airport. The location was used as a low-water crossing of Onion Creek as early as the 1840s but did not receive its current name until the early 1900s, when John B. Moore built a store in the area. Moore's Crossing was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 16, 1996

Del Valle High School is a public high school located in the Del Valle community in unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States and is part of the Del Valle Independent School District. The high school serves the communities of Austin, Creedmoor, Garfield, Mustang Ridge, Pilot Knob, Elroy, Webberville, and Hornsby Bend. It is affiliated with Austin Community College.It was given a "recognized" rating by TEA (Texas Education Agency) for the 2008-2009 school year.

San Jose Cemetery, also referred to as Cemeterio San José and Montopolis Cemetery, is a historic Mexican and Mexican American cemetery in the Montopolis neighborhood of Southeast Austin, Texas.San Jose Cemetery was established between 1919 and 1922 by the Union Fraternal Mexicana. At the time of its establishment, the Montopolis area not included in the Austin city limits as it is today, and would not be until the 1950s. The area was largely rural, without essential services, and suffered from high crime rates. Moreover, segregation era politics prevented integrated cemeteries for people of color, specifically Latinx/Hispanic individuals in the case of San Jose Cemetery. As time went on, the cemetery has suffered from considerable neglect and illegal dumping activity.In 2020, a research team based out of The University of Texas at Austin conducted research on the site investigating the linkage of the cemetery to pandemic-related deaths of the twentieth century.The cemetery is composed of two sections: the first and original section, San Jose I, is located at 705 Montopolis Drive, and the second later addition, San Jose II, is located at 8101 Posten Lane off of Hoeke Lane.

The Montopolis Bridge is a historic Parker through truss bridge in Austin, Texas. It is located in the Montopolis neighborhood where a bicycle and pedestrian walkway crosses the Colorado River in southeastern Travis County. The bridge consists of five 200-foot Parker through truss spans and four 52-foot steel I-beam approach spans resting on reinforced concrete abutments. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 10, 1996.

Albert Sidney Johnston High School served as a comprehensive, coeducational high school in the Austin Independent School District from 1960 to 2008. Located in Austin, Texas, the school was named after General Albert Sidney Johnston, who served as Secretary of War for the Republic of Texas and as a brigadier general for the Texian Army of the Republic of Texas, the United States Army, and the Confederate States Army. From its inception in 1960, Johnston High School was well known for a wide variety of vocational and technical programs that prepared students for work in such fields as cosmetology, printing, auto mechanics, industry and business. Primarily a school for the Hispanic and African-American students of East Austin, Johnston High School grew to be a 5A school and weathered the challenges of desegregation, forced busing, and the end of desegregation. From 1988 to 2002, Johnston High School housed the signature Liberal Arts Academy, a college-preparatory liberal arts magnet program that brought students to Johnston High School from throughout the Austin independent school District. Beginning in 2004, Johnston High School hosted International High School, a "school within a school" that provided an intensive English program for ninth- and tenth-grade immigrant and refugee students who were bused to Johnston High School from throughout Austin. In 2008, Johnston High School was the first school in Texas to be closed and reconstituted under the accountability system of Texas Education Agency Commissioner Robert Scott.

Pilot Knob is an unincorporated community in southern Travis County, Texas, United States. The community is centered on the intersection of US 183 and Farm to Market Road 812 and is named for Pilot Knob, the remnant hill of an extinct volcano. The area is semi-rural with residences on large lots or acreage and convenience stores and other small businesses.
