Skanssi (Finnish; Skansen in Swedish) is a district in the Uittamo-Skanssi ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is in the southeast of the city, and consists mostly of industrial areas. The current (as of 2004) population of Skanssi is 141, and it is increasing at an annual rate of 5.67%. 17.73% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 22.70% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 93.62% Finnish and 6.38% Swedish.

Koivula (Finnish; Björkas in Swedish) is a district in the Uittamo-Skanssi ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located in the southeast of the city, and is mainly a low-density residential suburb. The current (as of 2004) population of Koivula is 1,761, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.80%. 16.30% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 15.67% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 89.10% Finnish, 7.21% Swedish, and 3.69% other.

Turku Cemetery (Finnish: Turun hautausmaa, Swedish: Åbo begravningsplats) is a cemetery inaugurated in 1807 and located in Vasaramäki on the south-eastern outskirts of the city of Turku. The drawings of the cemetery has been prepared by the architect Charles Bassi. In the cemetery there are two chapels complexes. The Resurrection Chapel or Ylösnousemuskappeli/Uppståndelsekapellet was completed in 1941 by architect Erik Bryggman. The Heliga Korsets chapel and crematorium is inaugurated in 1967 by architect Pekka Pitkänen.The first buried person in the cemetery was William Archibald Cramp, who died in 1806 on his way from St. Petersburg to Turku.

Since the beginning of the 2000s the trend of renovating old industrial buildings to offices has sprawled over from the neighboring Kupittaa to Itäharju as well.
