Heathy Close Lock

Wootton Rivers Lock, also called Wootton Rivers Bottom Lock, is a lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Wootton Rivers, Wiltshire, England. Wootton Rivers Bottom Lock was built during the canal's construction between 1794 and 1810. The lock has a rise/fall of 8 ft 0 in (2.43 m). The parish of Wootton Rivers has three more locks upstream: Heathy Close, Brimslade, and Wootton Top Lock. The lock and its road bridge are Grade II listed.

Brimslade House is a former farmhouse in Brimslade, Wootton Rivers, Wiltshire, England.The house is from the 16th or 17th century, with later additions. The ground floor is in brick while the upper floor is of timber-framed construction with tile cladding. In 1987 the house was designated as Grade II* listed.

Clench is a hamlet in Wiltshire, England, in the Vale of Pewsey to the east of Wootton Rivers. It is in the civil parish of Milton Lilbourne. Its nearest town is Marlborough, approximately 3.8 miles (6.1 km) north from the hamlet. The name Clench dates from the 13th century and means a lumpy or massive hill. During the 15th century, Clench probably extended further south, perhaps as far as the complex of small closes near Broomsgrove Lodge, with more buildings and boundaries than survive now, as the area was marked as 'Clinch' on the 1843 title map. The timber-framed Brewers Cottage House dates from the late 17th or early 18th century and is designated as a Grade II listed building. It is now divided into two cottages.

The village was the location of Easton Priory from 1234 to 1536. The village mistakenly gained the Royal suffix in 1838 and the name Easton Royal has been in general use since the 1850s.The parish is on the northeastern edge of Salisbury Plain, and near the eastern end of the Vale of Pewsey.

Milton Lilbourne is a village and civil parish in the county of Wiltshire, England, in the Vale of Pewsey between Pewsey and Burbage. It is largely a mixed residential area centred on the Manor. Savernake Forest stands on a Cretaceous chalk plateau between Marlborough and Great Bedwyn in Wiltshire, England. Its area is approximately 4,500 acres (18 km2; 7.0 sq mi).Most of the forest lies within the civil parish of Savernake. It is privately owned by the Earl of Cardigan and his son Viscount Savernake, and is administered by trustees. Since 1939 the timber of the forest has been managed by Forestry England on a 999-year lease. The private status of Savernake Forest is maintained by shutting the forest to the public one day per year.
