L'Amour was a music venue in Brooklyn, New York, run by Mike and George Parente. L'Amour opened as a disco club in 1978, transformed into a rock club in 1981 and closed in February 2004. It was promoted as the "Rock Capital of Brooklyn". Commonly pronounced "La-Morz" by patrons, the venue hosted many of hard rock and heavy metal's biggest artists, including Iron Maiden, Kiss, Megadeth and Metallica, as well as frequently featuring underground bands from across the country and across the globe. The original L'Amour in Brooklyn remained a relevant part of the rock-metal scene for almost 25 years.

The Basilica of Regina Pacis (Latin for Queen of Peace) is a Catholic parish church located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, New York, under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. The church was built as a votive shrine, within the then-Parish of St. Rosalia (later renamed St. Rosalia-Regina Pacis Parish). The original parish church, built in 1905, was considered the "Mother Church of Italian immigrants" of the diocese.The church was raised to the status of a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XVI in November 2012.In June 2017, the diocese closed the Church of St. Rosalia, establishing the basilica as the parish church.

The Church of St. Rosalia (Italian: Chiesa Cattolica Italiana Romana di St. Rosalia) was a parish church in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The parish was founded to serve the needs of Italian Catholics in the area by the then-Bishop of Brooklyn, Charles McDonnell, in 1902. It was placed under the patronage of Saint Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo, Italy, a region from which many of the Italian-born parishioners hailed. The founding pastor was P. Sapienza, who conducted the first Masses in a converted three-story clapboard house on 62nd Street near 13th Avenue. Within a few years, a small permanent church was constructed to serve the congregation. The parish came to be considered the "Mother Church of Italian immigrants" of the diocese.In 1923 Angelo Raffaelle Cioffi (born 1887), a native of Cervinara in the Italian Province of Avellino, who had emigrated to the United States in 1907 as a seminarian, was appointed pastor of the parish by Thomas Edmund Molloy, then Bishop of Brooklyn. He stayed in the parish until his death in 1979.In 1972, the parish obtained an organ built in 1928 by the Skinner Organ Company, which had originally served a Congregational church in Connecticut.

The 55th Street station is a local station on the BMT West End Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of 55th Street and 13th Avenue in Borough Park, Brooklyn. It is served by the D train at all times. The station opened in 1916, and had its platforms extended in the 1960s.

Lieutenant Joseph Petrosino Park is a New York City public park located in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York City between 70th Street to the north, 71st Street to the south, 16th Avenue to the east, and New Utrecht Avenue to the west. It is on the east side of the 71st Street subway station (D train). This part of Bensonhurst was within the Town of Nieuw Utrecht when it was founded during the Dutch colonial era in 1657. The town had its name Anglicized to New Utrecht during the English colonial era. The town lost its autonomous status and became part of the City of Brooklyn in 1894. Since 16th Avenue and New Utrecht Avenue do not run parallel to each other, the footprint of the park is trapezoidal in shape.The land for the park was purchased by the City of New York in 1929, and the park was opened on May 24, 1935. It was originally called Satellite Park. When it opened, the park had handball courts, slides, swings, a wading pool, jungle gym, and a recreation building around its perimeter. A basketball court was later added on the southern side of the park extending from east to west. In 1993, the park underwent a $700,000 reconstruction. The handball courts, basketball court, and children's playground were renovated. The city installed new benches, fencing, lights and landscaping and improved the drainage. Congregation Shomrei Emunah (Hebrew: קהל שומרי אמונה) is an Orthodox Jewish synagogue located in Borough Park, Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 1907, the congregation moved into its present edifice in 1910. Its current spiritual leader is Rabbi Aviezer Cohen.

Bocchino-Dente Memorial Plaza is a 0.853-acre plaza located at the intersection of Fort Hamilton Parkway, 58th Street and 10th Avenue in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn, New York. The neighborhood's streets were laid out in a grid of streets and avenues at the turn of the 20th century while Fort Hamilton Parkway cuts diagonally through the grid on its route between Prospect Park and Bay Ridge. Triangular intersections that were too small to be developed were designated as public plazas, including this one. The plaza adjoins the school yard of Public School 105 The Blythebourne School, which carries the old name of Borough Park. In 1952, local City Councilman Arthur A. Low sponsored legislation to designate this triangle as the Bocchino-Dente Memorial Plaza in honor of local residents John Bocchino and Alfred Dente, who had been killed in the Second World War. The renaming was supported by the local post of the American Legion which carried the name Bocchino-Dente Post 1777. The local law to designate this plaza with this name was enacted on May 15, 1952 after the signature of the mayor of New York.
