Leyton was a local government district in southwest Essex, England, from 1873 to 1965. It included the neighbourhoods of Leyton, Leytonstone and Cann Hall. It was suburban to London, forming part of the London postal district and Metropolitan Police District. It now forms the southernmost part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest in Greater London.

Leyton is a London Underground station in Leyton, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, East London. Located on Leyton High Road, adjacent to the A12, the station is on the Central line between two stations assigned to two fare zones – Stratford and Leytonstone. It is in zone 3.

West Ham Union Workhouse was a workhouse in Leytonstone, built in the village of Holloway Down between 1839 and 1841 and run by the West Ham Poor Law Union. That Union covered several parishes in what is now Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. West Ham Borough Council took over its running in 1930 and renamed it the Central Home Public Assistance Institution (or Central Home for short), using it as a home for the infirm, aged and chronically sick. In 1948 it formally became a National Health Service hospital under the name of the Langthorne Hospital, which remained open until 1999.The workhouse's main original block, its chapel and its lodge are all Grade II listed buildings, whilst the workhouse and hospital lands have been redeveloped.

Holloway Down was a village, historically in Essex and now part of Leytonstone in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The village was sited at the junction of Union Lane (now Thorne Close) and Leytonstone Road (now High Road, Leytonstone) It is most notable as the location of the West Ham Union Workhouse, While the village has been replaced by Victorian terraces and shops, buildings from the workhouse remain; which have been converted into housing and part of North East London NHS Foundation Trust.Holloway Down and the workhouses were built on land that was originally part of Stratford Langthorne Abbey estate. The name comes from the Prioress of Holywell, who was granted the land, then called Ladune in 1201. By the 15th century the area was called Holywell Down.In 1791, Holloway Down was the location for The Old Thatched House public house before being relocated to a new building in 1875, as The Thatched House Inn; 100 yards south at the junction with Cutthroat Lane (now Crownfield Road) and Cannhall Lane (now Cann Hall Road).

Leyton Town Hall is a municipal building in Adelaide Road, Leyton, London. The building, which includes Leyton Great Hall, is a Grade II listed building.

Cathall is a housing estate in the Cathall ward, Leytonstone, East London. It is currently managed by Community-based Housing Association.

Norlington School is a boys' secondary school and coeducational sixth form located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, in East London. The school is situated on Norlington Road in Leyton.

St Paul's Church, Stratford is a Church of England church in Stratford, London. It had its origins in a Sunday School opened in Stratford New Town by a City Missionary around 1850, for which a building was constructed on Queen Street by Samuel Gurney in 1853, within the parish of St John's Church, Stratford. St John's vicar William Holloway was ambivalent about the mission and so friction arose when the vicar of All Saints, A J Ram, bought a site for the mission to build a church, initially an iron hall in 1859 and a permanent church in 1864, both dedicated to St Paul. The latter was built with assistance from Thomas Fowell Buxton and Raymond Pelly. The permanent church was then assigned a separate parish in 1865, split from that of St John's. The church was destroyed by a V-weapon in 1945, but was replaced by a new building, consecrated in 1953.St Paul's parish opened a mission church of St Mark to provide services for factory girls, opening in 1877, building a permanent building in 1891, suffering bomb damage and finally being sold to the Methodist Church after 1945. Its parish is now known as 'St Paul and St James, Stratford', after the congregation of St James' Church, Forest Gate moved from St John's to St Paul's in 2014 (the former parish area of St James' instead moved to St Saviour's, also in 2014.

Chobham Academy is a mixed all-through school and sixth form which opened in September 2013. The school is located on Cheering Lane in the East Village of Stratford in the London Borough of Newham, England. It has 1,800 student places and has a specialism in performing arts and English.Chobham Academy is located in buildings that were first used during the 2012 Summer Olympics as the main base for organising and managing teams. Rebuilt after the games, it opened in September 2013 as an education campus comprising: a nursery, primary and secondary school, sixth form and adult learning facility.As a school that was purpose-built to serve the new community established in the former Olympic Village, priority for admission into the school is given to those who live in East Village.The school is operated by the Harris Federation, a federation of primary and secondary academies in England. The school is sponsored by Lend Lease Group. Lend Lease have been responsible for the design, development and construction of East Village, on behalf of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The school building was designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.

St Eleutherius, St Anthia and St Luke the Evangelist or the Greek Orthodox Community of St. Eleftherios and St. Luke is a Greek Orthodox church in Leyton, north London. It was founded in 1982 and since March 1984 it has been housed at 113 Ruckholt Road in what was originally St Luke's Church, a Church of England building. It is dedicated to Saints Eleutherius and Antia and Saint Luke. The Anglican St Luke's was opened as a mission church for Holy Trinity Church, Leyton to serve the furthest western parts of its own parish and of St Catherine's Church, Leyton. Its original iron hall was replaced by a grey terracotta permanent church in 1914, which was granted a new parish in 1932, using parts from those of Holy Trinity and St Mary's. Badly damaged in the London Blitz, the church was restored and continued operating.

Maryland is a neighbourhood in Stratford in east London, England. It is in the London Borough of Newham. The community centres around Maryland Station and borders Leytonstone to the north, Stratford New Town to the west and Forest Gate to the east, with Stratford town centre to the south-west.
