The Ara de Trajano is a Roman inscription made on a granite boulder located in Caldas das Taipas, Braga District, Portugal with an honorific inscription to Trajan, dated 103. It was classified as a Monumento Nacional(National Monument) by the Decreto of 16-06-1910, Diário do Governo, No. 136, of 23-06-1910.It is also known as Lápide das Taipas, Ara de Nerva or Penedo da Moura. The inscription is on one of the faces of a granite block cut into three faces, each of them approximately three meters high. The inscription reads:IMP(ERATOR) CAES(AR) NERVA/ TRAIANVS AVG(VSTVS), GER(MANICVS), DAC(ICVS)/ POT(IFEX) MAX(IMVS), TRIB(VNITIA) POT(ESTATE) VII/ IMP(ERATOR) IIII CO(N)S(UL) V, P(ATER) P(ATRIAE)] ("Emperor Cesar Nerva Trajan, Augustus, Germanicus, Doricus, Pontiff Maximus, with the tribune power for the seventh time, Emperor for the fourth time, Consul for the fifth time, Father of the Fatherland").

Briteiros São Salvador e Briteiros Santa Leocádia (officially: União das Freguesias de Briteiros São Salvador e Briteiros Santa Leocádia) is a civil parish in the municipality of Guimarães, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes São Salvador de Briteiros and Santa Leocádia de Briteiros. The population in 2021 was 1,687, in an area of 9.39 km2.

The Ponte das Taipas is a deck slab bridge across the Ave River in Caldas das Taipas, Portugal. Contrary to some sources which classify the structure as a Roman bridge, it was built in the modern age.

Caldelas (also known as Caldas das Taipas and, in the past, S. Tomé de Caldelas) is a Portuguese civil parish in the municipality of Guimarães. With an area of 2.69 km² and 6304 inhabitants (2021 census). Its population density is 2 343.5 hab./km².

The Citânia de Briteiros is an archaeological site of the Castro culture located in the Portuguese civil parish of Briteiros São Salvador e Briteiros Santa Leocádia in the municipality of Guimarães; important for its size, "urban" form and developed architecture, it is one of the more excavated sites in northwestern Iberian Peninsula. Although primarily known as the remains of an Iron Age proto-urban hill fort (or oppidum), the excavations at the site have revealed evidence of sequential settlement, extending from the Bronze to Middle Ages.

Guimarães (Portuguese pronunciation: [ɡimɐˈɾɐ̃jʃ] (listen)) is a city and municipality located in northern Portugal, in the district of Braga. The city was settled in the 9th century, at which time it was called Vimaranes. This denomination might have had its origin in the warrior Vímara Peres, who chose this area as the main government seat for the County of Portugal which he conquered for the Kingdom of Galicia. Guimarães has a significant historical importance due to the role it played in the foundation of Portugal. The city is often referred to as the "birthplace of Portugal" or "the cradle city" (Cidade Berço in Portuguese) because it is widely believed that Portugal's first King, Afonso Henriques, was born there, and also due to the fact that the Battle of São Mamede – which is considered the seminal event for the foundation of the Kingdom of Portugal – was fought in the vicinity of the city.

Oliveira do Castelo is a Portuguese village and extinct freguesia in the municipality of Guimarães, with an area of 0.69 km2 and 3265 inhabitants (2011). Its population density was of 4,731.9 inhabitants/km2. It was the seat of a freguesia that was abolished in 2013, as part of a national administrative reform, to form a new parish, together with São Paio and São Sebastião, called Oliveira, São Paio e São Sebastião, with its seat at Alameda de São Dâmaso in Guimarães.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sameiro or Sanctuary of Sameiro (Portuguese: Santuário de Nossa Senhora do Sameiro / Santuário do Sameiro) is a sanctuary and Marian shrine in Espinho, in the surroundings of the city of Braga, Portugal.
