Garden International School (GIS) is a private, co-educational international school in Mont Kiara, Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded in 1951, GIS is one of the oldest and most prestigious private schools in Malaysia. GIS is part of the Taylor's Education Group and a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA). GIS provides British-based education for students ages 3 to 18 years old, with an Early Years Centre (age 3–5), Primary School (age 5–11) and Secondary School (age 11–18). GIS is one of the biggest private co-educational schools in Malaysia, with around 2,000 students. Accredited by the Council of International Schools, GIS offers the British National Curriculum, including providing IGCSE and A Levels examinations.

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Hartamas (SMKSH) is a co-educational, public secondary school currently located at Sri Hartamas, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Established in 1992, SMK Seri Hartamas was the first co-educational public secondary school in the Sri Hartamas area. The school was initially located at Taman Sri Hartamas before moving to its current location at Desa Sri Hartamas in 1999 (to accommodate the rising number of students and give way for the opening of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Hartamas). The school is renowned for its accomplishments in producing academically excellent students of exceptional upbringing and leadership.

Pusat Sains Negara or National Science Centre is a science centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Perched atop a hill on 8 hectares of landscaped grounds at Bukit Kiara on the northwestern fringes of the city, the centre was officially opened on 29 November 1996 by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad. The main aim of the science centre is to promote greater understanding and interest in science and technology. The building resembles a truncated cone capped with a geodesic dome. Among the themes featured in the exhibition galleries are an environmental odyssey, pathways to discovery, future world and thinking machines. In addition, National Science Center also has a new branch in Mount Keriang, Kedah which opened on 1 March 2010.

Bukit Sri Bintang is forested twin hill in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is actually part of a more extensive forested area which extends south as far as Bukit Kiara and is separated from this area by the E1 New Klang Valley Expressway. The highest peak of the hill is 212 metres above sea level.

Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is an affluent mid sized township in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Situated on the border of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, it is within the vicinity of Bandar Utama Damansara, Damansara Utama, Mutiara Damansara and other townships of Petaling Jaya. It is also neighbouring Bukit Kiara and Sri Hartamas as well as within easy access to Bangsar and Damansara Heights. This township is in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) as its local authority. It is primarily a residential neighborhood with businesses ranging from retail shops, restaurants and some high rise office buildings such as Menara Ken and Plaza VADS. The township was named after Tun Dr. Ismail bin Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first ambassador to the United States and a Malaysian representative to the United Nations, before becoming Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister in 1970. The commonly used abbreviation for Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is "TTDI".

Mont Kiara often stylized as Mont' Kiara and MK, is a township located at the northwest of downtown Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the constituency of Segambut. The township consists mainly of residential condominiums and office complexes which were mostly developed by UEM Sunrise Berhad, a well-known property development arm of UEM Group. It is located in the heart of Klang Valley, roughly halfway between Kepong and downtown Kuala Lumpur. It is adjacent to Sri Hartamas in the south and KL Metropolis in the east, and is heavily populated by expats consisting of Japanese, Koreans, Chinese as well as Arabians. Mont Kiara is a 15-minute drive to either Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya or downtown Kuala Lumpur. Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is a 10-minute drive away using Sprint Expressway. While the name "North Kiara" refers to the area situated within the vicinity of Mont Kiara and Segambut Dalam. The name has been used by developers up till now to link their property developments in the area to it.

Kampung Sungai Penchala is a small Malay village in the Segambut constituency in northwestern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the postcode 60000 KUALA LUMPUR, lying along the Federal Territory–Selangor border. This village is next to Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which also shares the same 60000 KUALA LUMPUR postcode, and adjacent to Mutiara Damansara and Bandar Utama that were once part of a large oil palm plantation across the interstate border. Despite the fact that the Government has gazetted Kampung Sungai Penchala as one of the Malay Reserve lands in Kuala Lumpur, this village is being actively developed and is arguably the most rapidly developed areas in the past 10 years with many developments having taken place.

The forest is one of the most popular nature sites in the Klang Valley. The stream and shady play-grounds are popular for family outings on weekends.

The French School of Kuala Lumpur (French: Lycée français de Kuala Lumpur Henri-Fauconnier, LFKL; Malay: Sekolah Perancis Kuala Lumpur) is a French international school in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its education levels range from kindergarten through lycée (senior high school).The school first opened in 1962. It moved to Bukit Tunku in 1983. The main campus was along Jalan Tun Ismail, while the preschool (maternelle) was on a separate site. In 2004 the first stone of the current campus was laid. In September of the following year the current campus opened.

Segambut is a sub-district and a parliamentary constituency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From the high-end condominiums of Mont Kiara and Sri Hartamas to the middle-class areas of Taman Sri Segambut and Bandar Manjalara, and the rural areas of Segambut Dalam and Kampung Sungai Penchala, the Segambut district has a diverse population base. Segambut once belonged to the mukim of Batu Caves before 1974, when Kuala Lumpur was still part of Selangor. The new Istana Negara is located in this district, along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (Jalan Duta).
