Garden International School (GIS) is a private, co-educational international school in Mont Kiara, Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded in 1951, GIS is one of the oldest and most prestigious private schools in Malaysia. GIS is part of the Taylor's Education Group and a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA). GIS provides British-based education for students ages 3 to 18 years old, with an Early Years Centre (age 3–5), Primary School (age 5–11) and Secondary School (age 11–18). GIS is one of the biggest private co-educational schools in Malaysia, with around 2,000 students. Accredited by the Council of International Schools, GIS offers the British National Curriculum, including providing IGCSE and A Levels examinations.

The French School of Kuala Lumpur (French: Lycée français de Kuala Lumpur Henri-Fauconnier, LFKL; Malay: Sekolah Perancis Kuala Lumpur) is a French international school in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its education levels range from kindergarten through lycée (senior high school).The school first opened in 1962. It moved to Bukit Tunku in 1983. The main campus was along Jalan Tun Ismail, while the preschool (maternelle) was on a separate site. In 2004 the first stone of the current campus was laid. In September of the following year the current campus opened.

Segambut is a sub-district and a parliamentary constituency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From the high-end condominiums of Mont Kiara and Sri Hartamas to the middle-class areas of Taman Sri Segambut and Bandar Manjalara, and the rural areas of Segambut Dalam and Kampung Sungai Penchala, the Segambut district has a diverse population base. Segambut once belonged to the mukim of Batu Caves before 1974, when Kuala Lumpur was still part of Selangor. The new Istana Negara is located in this district, along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (Jalan Duta).

The installation of Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th King of Malaysia (Malay: Yang di-Pertuan Agong) is expected to take place a few months after Ibrahim ascends the throne on 31 January 2024, at Balairung Seri, Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony will be held in the Malay Royal Ceremony. During the ceremony, the new King will recite his Oath of Installation and give his first speech from the Throne. Ibrahim was elected by the Malay Rulers in the 263rd Special Meeting of the Conference of Rulers, held at Istana Negara on 27 October 2023. The previous King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, ended his five-year reign on 30 January 2024.

The installation of Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah as the sixteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia took place in a Malay Royal Ceremony at the Balairong Seri, Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 30 July 2019 at 10 a.m. He was elected earlier by the Malay Rulers in the 251st Special Meeting of Conference of Rulers which was held at Istana Negara on 24 January 2019. The meeting was held upon the resignation of the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Muhammad V of Kelantan who step down from his post on 6 January 2019. Abdullah will hold the position for a period of 5 years beginning on 31 January 2019. The installation ceremony was held months after his election to allow the planning committees to make adequate preparation for it. During the ceremony, he read his Oath of Installation, and gave his first speech from the Throne. Celebrations took place across the country and commemorative coins, and stamps were issued. It was broadcast live on multiple media outlets such as television and through YouTube. This installation ceremony was a special occasion for Abdullah as it was held on his 60th birthday.

MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) (Malay: Pusat Pameran dan Konvensyen MATRADE) is a trade centre, exhibition hall, and convention centre in the suburb of Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. MECC, established by MATRADE (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation), provides convention facilities, exhibition halls, and meeting rooms. MATRADE has also allocated a permanent exhibition space for 400 local companies at the exhibition hall on the second floor. The centre is also a component of Naza TTDI’s KL Metropolis development which is expected to be fully completed within 12 to 15 years time. In operation since 2 January 2007, MECC has hosted many trade related events. The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), which was a venue for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games, is located nearby.

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Hartamas (SMKSH) is a co-educational, public secondary school currently located at Sri Hartamas, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Established in 1992, SMK Seri Hartamas was the first co-educational public secondary school in the Sri Hartamas area. The school was initially located at Taman Sri Hartamas before moving to its current location at Desa Sri Hartamas in 1999 (to accommodate the rising number of students and give way for the opening of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Hartamas). The school is renowned for its accomplishments in producing academically excellent students of exceptional upbringing and leadership.

The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (Malay: Akademi Sains Malaysia) is a statutory body in the Malaysian government established under an act of Parliament (Academy of Sciences Malaysia Act 1994). The Academy, abbreviated as ASM, is the highest scientific advisory body of Malaysia, and is organizationally under the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC).Its purpose is to be the ‘Think Tank’ of Malaysia for matters related to science, engineering, technology and innovation, and to pursue excellence in the fields of science, engineering and technology. The Academy consists (as of 2018) of 353 Fellows in eight science disciplines. The current President is Professor Datuk Dr Asma Ismail.

Bukit Sri Bintang is forested twin hill in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is actually part of a more extensive forested area which extends south as far as Bukit Kiara and is separated from this area by the E1 New Klang Valley Expressway. The highest peak of the hill is 212 metres above sea level.

Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Malay: Pusat Pameran dan Perdagangan Antarabangsa Malaysia), often abbreviated as MITEC, is the largest trade and exhibition centre of Malaysia in the suburb of Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. MITEC is the first component and flagship of Naza TTDI’s KL Metropolis development with a total gross development value (GDV) of approximately RM20 billion. It is located right next to MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre. The centre has a gross floor area of 143,191 square meters (1.5 million square feet), sprawling over a 13.3-acre prime land and a total of 484,376 square meters of exhibit space with ceilings as high as 36 meters making indoor sporting events feasible.MITEC also consists of the largest pillar-less exhibition hall in Malaysia. It is capable of hosting mega-exhibitions for over 100,000 visitors and conventions with the capacity of 20,000 as well as 28,300 visitors in banquet seating at a time during events. MITEC is poised to be the first exhibition and convention venue of choice in the Southeast Asia region. Nine events of the South East Asia Games were held at MITEC. The architecture takes inspiration from a Rubber Seed and Songket, a traditional Malay fabric.

Taman Sri Sinar is a township in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located in the northwest of the Segambut constituency and is surrounded by Taman Sri Bintang, Segambut Jaya, Taman Seri Kepong Baru, Taman Bukit Segambut, Taman Segambut Aman and Taman Segambut Damai. It has an estimated population of 40,000 as of 2010. This township is in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) as its local authority.

Damansara Heights (Malay: Bukit Damansara) is an upscale suburb in western side of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, located five kilometres away from the city centre. The suburb falls under the Segambut district and its parliamentary constituency. It is a sought-after residential and commercial address in the Klang Valley for Malaysians.
