Escolca, Iscroca in sardinian language, is a comune (municipality) in the Province of South Sardinia in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Cagliari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 652 and an area of 14.7 square kilometres (5.7 sq mi).The municipality of Escolca contains the frazione (subdivision) San Simone. Escolca borders the following municipalities: Barumini, Gergei, Gesico, Mandas, Serri, Villanovafranca.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,401 and an area of 45.0 square kilometres (17.4 sq mi).Mandas borders the following municipalities: Escolca, Gergei, Gesico, Nurri, Serri, Siurgus Donigala, Suelli. In January 1921, D. H. Lawrence and his wife Frieda (the Queen-Bee) visited the city on their way to Sorgono. The nuraghe Is Paras is an archeological site of Isili, a town in the historical region of Sarcidano, province of South Sardinia. The nuraghe is located in a strategic position dominating the underlying territories open to the West. Its shape is that of a trilobate nuraghe, formed by a triangular bastion with three towers at the corners. According to the archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu its tholos is the largest and most harmonious of all those present in Sardinia. The diameter of the base of the tower is of about 12,50 meters, its tholos chamber reached a height of 11,80 meters, making it the tallest dome in the world when it was built in the 15-14th century bc, it was surpassed by the underground tholos of the tomb of Atreus one or two centuries later. Inside the main tower there's a circular well. Originally there was an additional chamber on top of the first one, which would be reached through the still partially extant spiral staircase. Three smaller towers were added around the main one during the 13th century bc and connected by a wall. The complex was in turn surrounded by an external wall with towers.

The Nuraghe Adoni is a Nuragic complex dating back to the Bronze Age located in the municipality of Villanova Tulo in the province of Cagliari. The site is located on a hill at the center of the historic region of Sarcidano. The first excavations of the site date back to the mid-nineteenth century and were resumed several times in the nineties of the twentieth century. The entire complex consists of a nuraghe composed by a central tower and a quatrefoil bastion, surrounded by a village. At the site there were found several artifacts such as ceramics and a fragment of a bronze loop of the Schnabelkanne type.

Big attractions are the nuraghe Su Mulinu with its homonym museum and the church of San Lorenzo.
