Portland Skidmore/Old Town Historic District

The Skidmore Fountain is a historic fountain in Portland, Oregon, United States. The fountain is a contributing property of and the namesake for the Skidmore/Old Town Historic District, which is also a National Historic Landmark.The fountain has also been designated a Portland Historic Landmark and underwent restoration in 2005.

The Packy mural was a public artwork depicting the elephant of the same name, painted on the Skidmore Fountain Building in Portland, Oregon's Old Town Chinatown neighborhood. The artwork was designed by Eric Larsen and painted in 1990 by North Pacific Sign and Design, but was destroyed during the building's 2008 renovation to become the new headquarters for Mercy Corps.The mural received a generally positive reception, though in 1997 the president of the company that owned the building expressed his desire to replace the artwork, which he considered a free advertisement for the Oregon Zoo. He wanted to replace it with an illustration that promoted the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood. His search was met with resistance by building tenants, particularly employees of the advertising agency Young and Roehr, who began displaying "Save Packy" signs and campaigning for the art's preservation.

The Skidmore Fountain station is a light rail station on the MAX Blue and Red Lines in Portland, Oregon. It is currently the fifth stop eastbound on the Eastside MAX. It was previously also served by the Yellow Line, from 2004 to 2009, until that line's relocation to the Portland Transit Mall. The station has side platforms built into the sidewalk. Located under the west approach of the Burnside Bridge at the intersection of Burnside Street and Southwest 1st Avenue, it serves the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, the Portland Saturday Market, and Skidmore Fountain.

Smith's Block, or Smith Block, is an historic building in Portland, Oregon's Old Town Chinatown, in the United States. The 24,000 square-foot structure was completed in 1872 for $50,000. Designed by W.W. Piper, the building exhibits Italianate architecture and has been designated a Portland Historic Landmark. It houses the restaurant Lechon.

Kells Irish Pub is a pub in Portland, Oregon, United States. The restaurant is housed in the Glisan Building, in the southwest portion of the city's Old Town Chinatown neighborhood. Opened in 1990, the restaurant is owned and operated by Gerard and Lucille McAleese. Their son Garrett opened Kells Brew Pub (now Kells Brewery) in northwest Portland in 2012. Since 1995, money affixed to the ceiling has been donated to charity. The restaurant also hosts an annual Kells Irish Festival, and hosted the first Irish Beer Festival in 2017.

The PAE Living Building is a commercial building in Portland, Oregon. Located at Southwest 1st Avenue and Pine Street, the five-story "living building" was designed by ZGF Architects.

Shanghai Tunnel Bar, or simply Shanghai Tunnel, is a dive bar and Asian restaurant in the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Named after the city's Shanghai tunnels, the underground bar serves Asian-themed cocktails and foods such as BLTs, Chinese chicken salad, miso and noodle soup, quesadillas, and veggie burgers. Owned by Phil Ragaway, Shanghai Tunnel is known for its inexpensive drinks and pinball machines. The bar closed temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, and later offered street-level service.

Lechon (or LeChon) is a South American restaurant in Portland, Oregon's Old Town Chinatown neighborhood, in the United States. Jaco Smith opened the restaurant, which serves Argentine and Chilean cuisine, in August 2015.

The White Stag sign, also known as the "Portland Oregon" sign, is a lighted neon-and-incandescent-bulb sign located atop the White Stag Building, at 70 NW Couch Street in downtown Portland, Oregon, United States, facing the Burnside Bridge. The sign faces westbound traffic as it enters downtown Portland coming across the Willamette River. The sign was acquired by the City of Portland in September 2010, and the lettering was changed to read "Portland Oregon" in November 2010.During Christmas, the nose of the stag glows red in imitation of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and by the 1970s that feature had contributed to the sign's popularity as a local landmark. The sign was designated a City of Portland Historic Landmark in 1977. In 2014, Willamette Week referred to the "famous White Stag sign" as "one of the most instantly recognizable parts of the Portland skyline".Since its installation in 1940 the sign has carried various messages and animations, generally advertising Portland companies, the longest-lasting version being for White Stag Sportswear, from 1957 until 1997.
