Sutton Maddock

Stockton is a village and civil parish 17 miles (27 km) south east of Shrewsbury, in the Shropshire district, in the county of Shropshire, England. The parish includes the village of Norton and the hamlet of Higford. In 2011, the parish had a population of 331. The parish touches Astley Abbotts, Badger, Barrow, Beckbury, Broseley, Sutton Maddock and Worfield.

Coalport East was a London and North Western Railway station at Coalport, situated on the north bank of the River Severn. It formed the terminus of the Coalport Branch Line which ran from Hadley Junction near Oakengates on the LNWR Stafford to Shrewsbury Line.

The GWR Coalport railway station, active 1862–1963, was originally built as a single through platform railway station on the Severn Valley Line serving the village of Coalport in Shropshire, England. By January 1896 an additional platform had been added, thus permitting up and down trains to pass along, with a third platform face behind the up platform to form an east-facing bay. By this time, the goods sidings to the east of the station had been expanded."The Directory of Railway Stations" refers to the GWR station being renamed "Coalport West" by British Railways. However use of the name "Coalport" continued in Engineer's Line References, BR Working Timetables, and on the platform running in boards. The 1963 BR notice of closure of the line also referred to the station only as Coalport.The station closed on 9 September 1963 as part of the planned closure of the northern end of the Severn Valley Line which pre-dated the Beeching report.

Apley Hall is an English Gothic Revival house located in the parish of Stockton near Bridgnorth, Shropshire. The building was completed in 1811 with adjoining property of 180 acres (0.73 km2) of private parkland beside the River Severn. It was once home to the Whitmore & Foster families. The Hall is a Grade II* listed building claimed as one of the largest in the county of Shropshire.

The Severn Way is a waymarked long-distance footpath in the United Kingdom, which follows the course of the River Severn through Mid Wales and western England. According to the Long Distance Walkers Association the Severn Way is 224 miles (360 km) long.

Caughley () was a non-nucleated settlement situated two kilometres east of Barrow near Much Wenlock in Shopshire, England, with the River Severn running down its eastern edge and Dean Brook along its south-western edge. It is noted as a site of the production of Coalport porcelain. In 1883, Caughley extended to 332 hectares and in 1931 the population of the township stood at 48.

Apley Forge is a village in Shropshire, England, north of the town of Bridgnorth.

Linley, later Linley Halt, was a small railway station on the Severn Valley line in Shropshire, England. The station was built as a condition of constructing the railway at the behest of Thomas C. Whitmore of Apley Park estate, through which the railway runs. Apley Hall lies on the opposite bank of the River Severn to the station. Access from the estate to the station was originally by ferry and later via a chain suspension bridge. The single siding accessed by means of a ground frame was taken out of use in December 1957. The siding connected with the running line with a trailing connection in the up direction. The station closed on 9 September 1963 as part of the planned closure of the northern end of the Severn Valley Line which pre-dated the Beeching report. The little altered station building survives as a private residence although the canopy that provided shelter to passengers on the platform has been removed. The building is to the same design as Hampton Loade, on the preserved Severn Valley Railway.

Coalport is a village in Shropshire, England. It is located on the River Severn in the Ironbridge Gorge, a mile downstream of Ironbridge. It lies predominantly on the north bank of the river; on the other side is Jackfield. The settlement was planned as a canal–river interchange and a complete "new town" by ironmaster William Reynolds, who between 1788 and 1796 built warehouses, workshops, factories and workers' accommodation in Coalport. He also directed the construction of the Shropshire Canal, linking the East Shropshire Coalfield with the River Severn — the terminus being Coalport Wharf between the Brewery Inn and Coalport Bridge. Coalport at this time was much larger than it is today. It forms part of the civil parish of the Gorge and is the southeastern corner of the borough of Telford and Wrekin.
