Scofton

Royal Air Force Worksop or more simply RAF Worksop is a former Royal Air Force satellite station located at Scofton, 2.8 miles (4.5 km) north east of Worksop, Nottinghamshire and 4.7 miles (7.6 km) west of Retford, Nottinghamshire, England.

Manton Colliery was a coal mine in north Nottinghamshire (Bassetlaw). The site was also known as Manton Wood Colliery.

Bilby is a hamlet in Nottinghamshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Barnby Moor. It is located 5 miles west of Retford, close to the A1 road. Bilby was recorded in the Domesday Book as Billebi.

Checker House railway station was a station between Retford and Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England which served the village of Ranby from 1852 to 1931. The platforms were immediately to the east of the A1 road, and there was a goods station to the west of the road, which remained open until 1963. The line remains open for services on the Sheffield–Lincoln line but nothing remains of the passenger station or platforms, although part of a loading gauge was still visible in 2021. The site was included in Bassetlaw District Council's local plan in 2019, as they were considering locations for a garden village development, and the favoured site was immediately to the south of the railway line. If the village is built, it will probably include a station at or near the site of Checker House station, but it may be called Morton.

Ranby is a small village in the north of Nottinghamshire, next to the Chesterfield Canal and adjacent to the A1. It is in the civil parish of Babworth. It is known for its two schools, the prep school Worksop College Preparatory School (formerly Ranby House) and the primary school Ranby Primary School, and the nearby church All Saints Babworth.Ranby Prison is located on the A620 to Retford. The Prison has been updated over the last 5 years and houses an increasing number of inmates. Nearby stood Morton Hall that was built for William Mason J.P. in the 1860s. His children included Agnes Mason, Harriet Mason and Arthur James Mason. The hall was demolished in 1946. The grounds of the hall contained a "Money Stone". The one metre high stone commemorates a hoard found in 1802 containing 621 Roman copper and silver coins. The 1802 stone is now listed.

Clumber and Hardwick is a civil parish in the Bassetlaw district, in the county of Nottinghamshire, England. The parish includes the settlement of Hardwick Village and Clumber Park, a country park. In the UK census of 2021 the parish had a population of 66. The parish lies in the north west of the county, and south west within the district. It is 125 miles north west of London, 22 miles north of the city of Nottingham, and 3½ miles south east of the market town of Worksop.The parish touches Babworth, Carburton, Elkesley, Perlethorpe cum Budby and Welbeck. The parish was formed on 1 April 1994. The area is within Sherwood Forest and has close historical associations with the Dukes of Newcastle, being part of a wider region known as The Dukeries. There are 26 listed buildings in Clumber and Hardwick.

Clumber Park is a country park in The Dukeries near Worksop in the civil parish of Clumber and Hardwick, Nottinghamshire, England. The estate, which was the seat of the Pelham-Clintons, Dukes of Newcastle, was purchased by the National Trust in 1946. It is listed Grade I on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.The main house was demolished in 1938 after damage by several fires. The nearby Grade I listed chapel in Gothic Revival style and a four-acre walled kitchen garden still survive. The gardens and the estate are managed by the National Trust and are open to the public all year round. In 2020/21 over 350,000 people visited Clumber Park, making it one of the National Trust's top ten most visited properties.

Hardwick Village is a rural settlement located in the Bassetlaw administrative area of Nottinghamshire. It is within Clumber Park, part of a greater area known as The Dukeries. It consists of former labourers' cottages and a couple of farms, including Hardwick Grange.

Hodsock is a settlement and civil parish about 4 miles from Worksop, in the Bassetlaw district, in the county of Nottinghamshire, England. The parish includes the village of Langold and the country house Hodsock Priory. In 2011 the parish had a population of 2,472. The parish is surrounded by the settlements of Babworth, Barnby Moor, Blyth, Carlton in Lindrick, Costhorpe, Firbeck, Letwell, Maltby, Styrrup with Oldcotes and Torworth.

Hodsock Priory is an English country house in Hodsock, Nottinghamshire, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Worksop, England, and 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Blyth. Despite its name, it is not and never has been a priory. Hodsock is renowned for its snowdrops in early spring. It is also a venue for special events and weddings.

Worksop College (formerly St Cuthbert's College) is a British co-educational private school for both boarding and day pupils aged 13 to 18, in Worksop. It sits at the northern edge of Sherwood Forest, in Nottinghamshire, England. Founded by Nathaniel Woodard in 1890, the school is a member of the Woodard Corporation and Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, and has a strong Anglo-Catholic tradition.
