Clumber and Hardwick

Clumber Park is a country park in The Dukeries near Worksop in the civil parish of Clumber and Hardwick, Nottinghamshire, England. The estate, which was the seat of the Pelham-Clintons, Dukes of Newcastle, was purchased by the National Trust in 1946. It is listed Grade I on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.The main house was demolished in 1938 after damage by several fires. The nearby Grade I listed chapel in Gothic Revival style and a four-acre walled kitchen garden still survive. The gardens and the estate are managed by the National Trust and are open to the public all year round. In 2020/21 over 350,000 people visited Clumber Park, making it one of the National Trust's top ten most visited properties.

The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Clumber Park, is an Anglican church in Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, England. The church is Grade I listed by English Heritage as a building of outstanding architectural or historic interest.

Hardwick Village is a rural settlement located in the Bassetlaw administrative area of Nottinghamshire. It is within Clumber Park, part of a greater area known as The Dukeries. It consists of former labourers' cottages and a couple of farms, including Hardwick Grange.

Manton Colliery was a coal mine in north Nottinghamshire (Bassetlaw). The site was also known as Manton Wood Colliery.

Carburton or Carberton is a small village on the west side of Clumber within the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England. It is primarily rural and residential. The church of Saint Giles is an unusual shape and dates back to the early 12th century, parish records date back to the 1530s Carburton stands on the River Poulter, on the Ollerton Road and is very close to Clumber Park. It is surrounded by four major cities, those being Doncaster, Lincoln, Sheffield and Nottingham, which is around 24 miles (39 km) away. Whilst London is 154 miles (248 km) away via the M1.

Worksop College (formerly St Cuthbert's College) is a British co-educational private school for both boarding and day pupils aged 13 to 18, in Worksop. It sits at the northern edge of Sherwood Forest, in Nottinghamshire, England. Founded by Nathaniel Woodard in 1890, the school is a member of the Woodard Corporation and Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, and has a strong Anglo-Catholic tradition.

The Royal Lancers & Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum traces the history of three old and famous cavalry regiments, the Royal Lancers, the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry and the South Nottinghamshire Hussars. It is located at Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire.

Checker House railway station was a station between Retford and Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England which served the village of Ranby from 1852 to 1931. The platforms were immediately to the east of the A1 road, and there was a goods station to the west of the road, which remained open until 1963. The line remains open for services on the Sheffield–Lincoln line but nothing remains of the passenger station or platforms, although part of a loading gauge was still visible in 2021. The site was included in Bassetlaw District Council's local plan in 2019, as they were considering locations for a garden village development, and the favoured site was immediately to the south of the railway line. If the village is built, it will probably include a station at or near the site of Checker House station, but it may be called Morton.

Thoresby Hall is a grade I listed 19th-century country house in Budby, Nottinghamshire, some 2 miles (4 km) north of Ollerton. It is one of four neighbouring country houses and estates in the Dukeries in north Nottinghamshire all occupied by dukes at one time during their history. The hall is constructed of rock-faced ashlar with ashlar dressings. It is built in four storeys with a square floor plan surrounding a central courtyard, nine bays wide and eight bays deep.

Scofton is a hamlet in the Bassetlaw district of northern Nottinghamshire, England. It is 130 miles (210 km) north west of London, 25 miles (40 km) north of the county town and city of Nottingham, and 3 miles (4.8 km) east of the nearest town Worksop. Having a shared modern history with nearby Osberton Hall, it is sometimes referred to as Scofton-with-Osberton. Other close neighbours are Bilby and Rayton which also have historical associations.

Perlethorpe cum Budby is a civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district, within the county of Nottinghamshire, England. The overall area had a population of 172 at the 2021 census. The parish lies in the north west of the county and district. It is 125 mi (201 km) north of London, 8 mi (13 km) north east of Mansfield and 20 mi (32 km) north of the city of Nottingham. The parish and wider area is at the heart of Sherwood Forest, which is associated with the Robin Hood legend. Thoresby Hall, which is a notable ducal country house and estate is also within the boundaries of the parish.
