Vallorcine station

Vallorcine (French pronunciation: [valɔʁsin]; Savoyard: Valorsnà) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France.

Le Buet station (French: Gare du Buet) is a railway station in the commune of Vallorcine, in the French department of Haute-Savoie. It is located on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Saint-Gervais–Vallorcine line of SNCF.

Le Châtelard-Frontière railway station (French: Gare du Châtelard-Frontière) is a railway station in the municipality of Finhaut, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is located on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Martigny–Châtelard line of Transports de Martigny et Régions. The station is last one in Switzerland before the line crosses into France.

Les Perrons (or Le Perron) is a mountain of the Chablais Alps, located on the border between Switzerland and France. The main summit (2,674 m) is named Grand Perron. It overlooks the Lac d'Emosson on its northern side.

Col des Montets (elevation 1,461 m or 4,793 ft) is a mountain pass in the French Alps in the Haute-Savoie department of France. It is on the road between Chamonix, the Swiss Col de la Forclaz and Martigny in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. The pass is generally open in winter, but it can be closed in extreme weather and frequently requires snow chains and/or winter tires. Conditions can be checked with Chamonix tourist office. The railway tunnel of the Saint-Gervais–Vallorcine railway has been modified to also carry road traffic on a convoy basis between trains when the pass is closed. Elizabeth Robins Pennell bicycled through the pass in the 1890s.The pass appeared in the Tour de France five times from 1959 to 1977: Charly Gaul was the first rider to cross the pass in 1959.

The Tête de Balme (2,321 m) is a mountain of the Mont Blanc Massif, located on the border between Switzerland and France. It lies on the range north of the Col de Balme, culminating at the Croix de Fer.

Refuge alpin du Tour is a refuge in the Alps in France.

The Émosson Dam (French: Barrage d'Émosson) is a hydroelectric dam development located in Switzerland in the canton of Valais.

Montroc is a hamlet in eastern France, located in the territory of the commune of Chamonix. Several houses at Poses 150m North East of Montroc were destroyed on the 9th of February 1999 by a slab avalanche from Bec du Lachat and Mont Peclerey on the Mont Blanc massif, killing 12 people. In July, 2003, the Mayor of Chamonix, Michel Charlet, received a three-month suspended prison sentence for his part in the handling of events immediately prior to the avalanche. There is a memorial to those lost at site of the avalanche on the road from Montroc to Le Tour.

The Col de Balme (2,195 m) is a high mountain pass of the Alps, located on the border between Switzerland and France. It connects Trient in the Swiss canton of Valais to Argentière in the French department of Haute-Savoie. The pass lies between the summits of Tête de Balme and Les Grandes Otanes. The Col de Balme lies on the Tour du Mont Blanc walk. A restaurant is located above the summit of the pass.

Le Châtelard VS railway station (French: Gare de Le Châtelard VS) is a railway station in the municipality of Finhaut, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is an intermediate stop and a request stop on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge Martigny–Châtelard line of Transports de Martigny et Régions. The station is adjacent to the valley station of the Funiculaire du Châtelard to Lac d'Émosson.
