Gorseinon railway station served the town of Gorseinon, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1867 to 1964 on the Llanelly Railway.

Kingsbridge (Welsh: Pontybrenin) was an electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. It was part of the Llwchwr Town council area. The Kingsbridge ward was bordered by the wards of Gowerton, Cockett and Penderry to the south; Gorseinon and Penllergaer to the north and Upper Loughor to the west. The electoral ward consisted of some or all of the following areas: Kingsbridge, Garden Village and Stafford Common in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. Kingsbridge is a mainly rural ward but it also has a scattering of industrial areas. For election purposes, Kingsbridge is broken down into the polling districts of Kingsbridge and Garden Village. For the 2012 local council elections, the turnout was 36.25%. The results were:

Kingsbridge (Welsh: Pontybrenin), is a village in the City and County of Swansea, Wales falling within the Kingsbridge ward. It covers the south east of the town of Gorseinon. Kingsbridge lies to the south of Gorseinon and Penllergaer, to the east of Penyrheol, to the north of Gowerton and Cockett, and to the west of Penderry. Kingsbridge has a Welsh Football League club called Garden Village AFC. There is a small business park on the outskirts of the village. The premises of two south and west Wales radio stations called Swansea Sound and 96.4 The Wave are located in Kingsbridge. There are two local Primary Schools. YGG Pontybrenin teaches through the medium of Welsh, whilst Pontybrenin Primary School teaches through the English Language. The Gorseinon Campus of Gower College Swansea is also located in the area.

Greatest Hits Radio South Wales (formerly Swansea Sound) is an Independent Local Radio station owned and operated by Bauer Radio as part of the Greatest Hits Radio network. The station broadcasts to Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and surrounding areas from studios in the Gowerton area of Swansea on DAB. Up until 2022, the station broadcast on 1170 kHz across its original target service of the Swansea Bay area. As of September 2023, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 102,000, according to RAJAR.

Gowerton railway station (originally Gower Road and later Gowerton North) serves the village of Gowerton, Wales. It is located at street level at the end of Station Road in Gowerton, 219 miles 45 chains (353.4 km) from the zero point at London Paddington, measured via Stroud. The station is unmanned but has a ticket machine, shelters on each platform and live train running information displays.

Gowerton South railway station served the village of Gowerton, West Glamorgan, Wales from 1867 to 1964 on the Llanelly Railway.

Gorseinon is the name of an electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. The Gorseinon community comprises the electoral ward of Gorseinon and part of the Penyrheol ward. Gorseinon has its own elected town council. The electoral ward consists of Gorseinon town and the surrounding rural areas, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. The ward and community are coterminous with each other and encompass the town. Prior to local government re-organisation in 1996, the town of Gorseinon was administered as part of the Lliw Valley district. Since 1996, Gorseinon has been governed by the City and County of Swansea council. The ward is bounded by Penyrheol to the north west, Penllergaer to the east and Kingsbridge to the south. The community of Gorseinon, together with the community of Llwchwr is twinned with Ploermel in France. For the 2012 local council elections, the turnout in Gorseinon was 32.70%. The Results were:

Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr is a Welsh-medium secondary school for pupils aged between 11 and 19 years. The school is situated in Gowerton, Swansea, Wales. It was established in 1984.As of 2023, Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr had 1113 pupils enrolled at the school, with 27.5 per cent of those coming from Welsh-speaking homes.Notable past students include footballer John Hartson, soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and UFC fighter Brett Johns.In 2001 the school, as the only Welsh-speaking secondary school in Swansea, was encountering capacity problems, having to accommodate over 1,000 pupils in buildings that were designed for a capacity of 750. Proposals were made to move the school to the site of Penlan Comprehensive School, which was shortly to close. However parents and Staff protested against the move, resulting in a second Welsh-language school in Swansea (Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe) According to the latest inspection report from Estyn the school has a GCSE pass rate of 76% (based on 5 GCSEs, grades A-C), which puts it in 5th place in Wales or in the top 10%. In Swansea it is ranked 1st place for best school. In 2015, the Rugby 1st XV won the Ospreys under 18s School League, beating Gowerton Comprehensive School 23–21.

The Gowerton community boundaries are coterminous with the ward. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Gowerton, Penclawdd, Waunarlwydd, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It is bordered by Penclawdd and Fairwood to the south west; Killay North and Killay South to the south; Cockett to the east; and Lower Loughor, Upper Loughor, the Loughor estuary and Kingsbridge to the north.
