The Croatian Franciscan Province of Saints Cyril and Methodius (Croatian: Hrvatska franjevačka provincija sv. Ćirila i Metoda) is a province of the Franciscan Order of the Catholic Church based in Zagreb which is active in Croatia and Serbia (including Vojvodina province and the City of Belgrade). The province was formed in 1900, and has monasteries throughout northern Croatia, as well as in Subotica, Bač, Novi Sad and Zemun, Serbia. The province runs its seminary in Zagreb. The province also has its own publication, Fraternitas.

The Kaptol manors form a series of 25 manors (Croatian: kurije, from Latin: curia) along the Kaptol Street in Zagreb, Croatia that were used to house canons and other officials of the Archdiocese of Zagreb. The manors were built at various times between the Middle Ages and the 19th century. Most of those preserved date from the Baroque period (late 17th and 18th century), while those in the best condition are mostly from the 19th century. The manors were designed as large town houses surrounded by gardens. Each has its own history and peculiarities. The most important are those which were inhabited by prominent canons.

Tkalčićeva Street (Croatian: Tkalčićeva ulica, formally: Ivan Tkalčić Street, Ulica Ivana Tkalčića) is a street in the Zagreb, Croatia city center. Extending from the vicinity of the central Ban Jelačić Square to its northern end at the Little Street (Croatian: Mala ulica), the street flows between the Gornji Grad in the west and Nova Ves in the east. The street is administratively within the Gornji Grad–Medveščak city district, constituting the former "August Cesarec" commune (abolished in 1994). According to the 2001 Croatian census, the street has 1,591 inhabitants.

Kaptol is a part of Zagreb, Croatia in the Upper Town and it is the seat of the Roman Catholic archbishop of Zagreb. Due to its historical associations, in Croatian "Kaptol" is also used as a metonym for the leadership of the Roman Catholic Church in Croatia.

Croatian Chamber of Economy (Croatian: Hrvatska gospodarska komora, abbreviation HGK), is a professional association of businesspeople in Croatia, and the oldest institution of its kind on the Croatian territory.

Dolac (pronounced [dɔ̌lat͡s]) is a farmers' market located in Gornji Grad - Medveščak city district of Zagreb, Croatia. Dolac is the most visited and the best known farmer's market in Zagreb, well known for its combination of traditional open market with stalls and a sheltered market below. It is located only a few dozen meters away from the main city square, Ban Jelačić Square, between the oldest parts of Zagreb, Gradec and Kaptol. The Dolac market Zagreb is centrally located right behind the town’s main square. The daily market, on a raised square a set of stairs up from Jelačić, has been the city’s major trading place since 1930. Farmers from surrounding villages come to sell their home-made foodstuffs and very fresh fruit and vegetables. In the covered market downstairs are butchers, fishmongers and old ladies selling the local speciality sir i vrhnje (cheese and cream). Flowers and lace are also widely available. Alongside, the renovated fish market, ribarnica, sells fresh produce every day but Monday.

Zagreb Cathedral, on the Kaptol, is a Roman Catholic cathedral-church and not only the second tallest building in Croatia but also the most monumental sacral building in Gothic style southeast of the Alps. It is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and to kings Saint Stephen and Saint Ladislaus. The cathedral is typically Gothic, as is its sacristy, which is of great architectural value. Its prominent spires are considered to be landmarks as they are visible from most parts of the city. One of its two spires was damaged in an earthquake that took place on March 22, 2020.

Krvavi most (lit. "Bloody Bridge") is a street in the heart of Zagreb, capital of Croatia. It is named after the former bridge over the Medveščak creek, which was rendered useless after the covering of the creek. Although the bridge became the street, the name stayed because of historical reasons – as a reminder of history and a witness of Zagreb's past. The bridge gained its name because of the constant conflicts happening on its wooden beams between the citizens of the two parts of Zagreb: Gradec and present day Kaptol.

Medveščak (pronounced [medʋeʃtʃǎːk], also called Crikvenik) is a creek in central Zagreb, Croatia. It flows from Kraljičin zdenac in Podsljeme down along the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain to the Manduševac Fountain, its mouth. The creek was covered in 1898 and today forms part of the Zagreb sewer system. Medveščak has long served as an important geographical feature of historic Zagreb, delineating the border between the often warring twin cities of Gradec (Gornji Grad) and Kaptol between the 11th and the 19th century and causing many violent floods which often decimated houses on its banks. Most of the stream is located in the Gornji Grad - Medveščak city district, running underground under Tkalčićeva and Medvedgradska Streets.The creek today plays a minor role in the Zagreb sewer system, having ceased powering the Manduševac Fountain in 1882. However, it gave its name to the Medveščak neighborhood.

Archbishop's Palace (Croatian: Nadbiskupski dvor) in Zagreb, Croatia, is a building and the official residence of the Archbishop of Zagreb. Located in the Kaptol neighborhood of the city, the current edifice dates from 1729, during the tenure of bishop Juraj Branjug, with subsequent restorations and renovations done by Antun Steindl and Hermann Bollé. It is a representative example of baroque architecture within the city, but also contains earlier phases such as the romanesque-gothic chapel dedicated to Saint Stephen, which had originally been erected in 1250.

The Croatian Institute of History (Croatian: Hrvatski institut za povijest), abbreviated as HIP, is a public, non-profit scientific research institute in the field of history of Croatia. The institute was established in 1961 under the name of the Institute for the History of the Workers' Movement in Croatia. The institute is located in Zagreb with one regional branch in Slavonski Brod. The first director of the institute, in the period between 1961 and 1967, was Franjo Tuđman, who would later become the first president of Croatia. The institute publishes four scholarly journals: Časopis za suvremenu povijest (Journal of Contemporary History), Povijesni prilozi (Historical Contributions) and Scrinia Slavonica in Croatian and Review of Croatian History in English language. The institute employs approximately 70 researchers at its main location in Zagreb, with an additional 20 staff members working at its branch in Slavonski Brod.

The Zagreb metropolitan area is the metropolitan area of Zagreb. The metropolitan area covers three counties in the Croatia, with an area of 4,930 km2. The largest cities or towns within the metropolitan area are Zagreb, Velika Gorica, Samobor and Zaprešić.
