Angus Glen Golf Club

Angus Glen (Census Tract No. 5350403.05) (2006 Population 2,596) is a community in the city of Markham, just north of the community and former municipality of Unionville, Ontario, Canada. The area was originally farmland, but as Unionville's housing development in the late 1990s matured in 1997 the original Angus Glen East Village, comprising approximately 500 single family homes and townhouses, was developed. Angus Glen incorporated the residential concept of "New Urbanism", to allow for the homes to be designed with the appearance of old downtown Toronto houses, with lane-ways on which the homes' separate garages were built. In the mid-2000s the land west of the small creek on the west border of the East Village commenced development, and is still under construction, known as the West Village. Throughout this period the East Village had a tract of land which had originally been sold to the school board for a possible school. However, the demographic studies could not support a school and after many years of negotiations the developer re-purchased the land in early 2014 and the East Village has had approximately 50 homes under construction, just east of the baseball park and along the north border of York Downs Golf Club. These homes will increase the East Village's homes to close to 600 and the entire community to approximately 1,100. In addition to the Angus Glen Golf Club, the area is just west of Markham's William Berczy Historic Cemetery, which contains the graves of the early settlers of the city of Markham.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School (French: École secondaire Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, commonly known as PETHS, PET, or Trudeau) is a public, bilingual English and French-immersion secondary school in Markham, Ontario. It was named in honour of the 15th Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

Cashel, Ontario is a small hamlet situated in Unionville, Ontario located at the intersection of Elgin Mills Road and York Regional Road 67. Originally it was called Crosby Corners after John Crosby (born 1797), the village's first store owner, who came originally from New York State. The name was changed to Cashel in 1851 with the opening of its first post office (located at southwest corner of Major Mackenzie and McCowan Road - now farmland). It was likely named after Cashel in Ireland. In 1851 the community had a sawmill, cobbler shop, blacksmith shop, wagon shop, inn and tavern, Masonic Lodge, and Presbyterian church. In 1890 Peaches United Church was built on land from farmer Thomas Peach at 10762 McCowan Road. The church is a historic site and not operating since the 1960s to 1970s, but cemetery remains in active use. The east west sideroad along the church was locally called Peaches (Peach's) Sideroad or otherwise known as Elgin Mills Road. There are few dwellings located at the site, most of them near York Regional Road 3, the western boundary of this community. Other parts of the community is mainly farmlands. Cashel's northern boundary is the town of Whitchurch–Stouffville. The community is home to the Markham Fairgrounds.The only reminder of Cashel is the Asa Henry Summerfeldt's 1860s British American Inn but built around 1851 by Robert McCormick opened by , now a private residence and before as Roadside Antiques.

Cachet (Pronunciation: cash-AY) is a neighbourhood within northwestern Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded by 16th Avenue to the south, Major Mackenzie Drive East to the north, Warden Avenue to the east and Woodbine Avenue or Highway 404 (depending on exact definition), to the west. The area is a residential development that has replaced farmland that once defined the area. The residents of Cachet consist mostly of middle to upper-income families and the housing consists of large single family homes. The Cachet Centre is a small strip mall that services mainly to local residents. There is also an Asian shopping centre at the intersection of Woodbine Avenue and Markland Street, called King Square. When the shopping centre is completed, it would be considered the largest Asian mall in North America. It is to be completed around 2020. The population of the community is predominantly Chinese and small minority of European heritage. The Rouge River and Berczy Creek flows through the community. This neighbourhood is also home to Ashton Meadows Public School, St. Monica Catholic Elementary School, and St. Augustine Catholic High School. The Ashton Meadows community consists of government housing. Many students who attended Ashton Meadows Public School go on to Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School, located at Berczy Village, on Bur Oak Avenue and Kennedy Road.

Toogood Pond Park is a 33.3-hectare park located in the neighbourhood of Unionville, in Markham, Ontario, Canada that is best known for Toogood Pond. The pond is home to many Canada geese, ducks, fish, and plants. The park is owned and operated by the Corporation of the City of Markham, and is maintained by the city's Parks Department.

Unionville Public School is an elementary school located in the Unionville area of Markham, Ontario, Canada and is part of the York Region District School Board. It is a feeder school of Markville Secondary School.

Berczy Village is a residential neighbourhood in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded to the north by Major Mackenzie Drive, to the east by McCowan Road, to the south by 16th Avenue, and to the west by Kennedy Road. This area is north of Unionville. The community is named after William Berczy, Markham's founder. The name can be found on limestone plaques throughout the community's many arterial road entrances. The community is known for its variety of mixed-income dwellings and the green space found in most subdivisions. Townhouses and some semi-detached homes can be found along Bur Oak Avenue, whereas semi-detached and detached homes are found on residential streets. It is also noted for the many garage alleyways behind the townhomes and some semi-detached homes and the plentiful spacious catwalks. Berczy Village adheres to the city of Markham's development plan for "Smart Growth". The carefully planned urban design scheme puts an emphasis on open space, protection of environmentally sensitive areas, and conservation of woodlots.

Wismer Commons is a residential area of Markham, Ontario, Canada, north of 16th Avenue, west of Markham Road and east of McCowan Road. Wismer Commons is named after the Wismer Family, one of the founding pioneer families of Markham, Ontario. The family of David Wismer, originally from Germany and subsequently Pennsylvania, arrived in Markham Township in 1806. After the deaths of David and Lydia Wismer in 1856, the Wismer family continued to donate property to community organizations, including the land for the area's first school. This original one-room schoolhouse, near the south west corner of 16th Avenue and Markham Road was replaced around 1864 with a new school to the north near the present Markham Museum. The name Wismer Commons can be found on stone plaques on both sides of the road at main arterial road entrances of developed regions of the community, such as the intersection of Bur Oak Avenue and McCowan Road.

Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery, or the Varley Art Gallery of Markham, is an art museum in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The museum is situated in a 1,400 square metres (15,000 sq ft) building on Main Street Unionville. The gallery was named after Frederick Varley, an artist from the Group of Seven, and was opened in May 1997.The gallery features a frequent changing of displays of the artwork done by local, national, and international artists. The gallery offers group tours, school programs, studio courses and workshops, courses and lectures, and family activities.The art gallery is a short walk from Salem-Eckhardt House, the historical figure Kathleen Gormley McKay's residence. The house was built in the 1840s, and later became home to Frederick Varley. Kathleen Gormley McKay donated many of the original Frederick Varley pieces to the gallery.

Unionville High School is a public high school of the York Region District School Board in Ontario, Canada. It is located west of the community of Unionville in the city of Markham. The school is located next to the Markham Civic Centre and the Markham Theatre. Unionville High School is most well known for its enriched arts program, Arts Unionville (formerly known as Arts York). The school was purpose-built to house this regional arts program, therefore it has enhanced arts facilities. Arts Unionville is divided into 4 categories: visual arts, music, dance, and drama. In order to gain entry into the program, grade eight to nine students are required to audition.

Quantztown is an unincorporated community located in the city of Markham, Ontario, Canada, near McCowan Road and 16th Avenue. It is named for German settler Melchior Quantz (1751-1827), who arrived in 1794 after serving with the British Army.

Main Street Unionville is a collector route that runs through the historical suburban community of Unionville, in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Like most other Main Streets, the street serves as an important road for local tourism development. All along the road, the street has structures that are virtually unchanged from its founding in 1794. Renowned for its pubs, parks, restaurants, and its historical European view, the road also hosts the annual Unionville Festival, which draws several thousand visitors to the neighbourhood.
