Unionville Public School is an elementary school located in the Unionville area of Markham, Ontario, Canada and is part of the York Region District School Board. It is a feeder school of Markville Secondary School.

Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery, or the Varley Art Gallery of Markham, is an art museum in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The museum is situated in a 1,400 square metres (15,000 sq ft) building on Main Street Unionville. The gallery was named after Frederick Varley, an artist from the Group of Seven, and was opened in May 1997.The gallery features a frequent changing of displays of the artwork done by local, national, and international artists. The gallery offers group tours, school programs, studio courses and workshops, courses and lectures, and family activities.The art gallery is a short walk from Salem-Eckhardt House, the historical figure Kathleen Gormley McKay's residence. The house was built in the 1840s, and later became home to Frederick Varley. Kathleen Gormley McKay donated many of the original Frederick Varley pieces to the gallery.

Main Street Unionville is a collector route that runs through the historical suburban community of Unionville, in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Like most other Main Streets, the street serves as an important road for local tourism development. All along the road, the street has structures that are virtually unchanged from its founding in 1794. Renowned for its pubs, parks, restaurants, and its historical European view, the road also hosts the annual Unionville Festival, which draws several thousand visitors to the neighbourhood.

Unionville is a suburban district and former village in Markham, Ontario, Canada, 2 km (2.5 mi) west of Markham Village (the City of Markham's historic downtown), and 33 km (20.5 mi) northeast of Downtown Toronto. The boundaries of Unionville are not well-defined. Several neighbourhoods claim to be part of it however, this has been disputed between the various wards.Unionville was founded north of 16th Avenue in 1794, and many of the farms on and around Kennedy Road. The Unionville Ratepayers Association designated a newer street, Rodick Road, as its western boundary, in the 1980s. Main Street Unionville, which was Kennedy Road in the mid-to-late 20th century, runs through Unionville while the new Kennedy Road runs 300 metres (330 yd) to the east. Rouge River runs north of the central part of Unionville and to the southeast. Highway 404 is to the west, with the nearest interchange with Highway 407 is 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south on Kennedy Road. Unionville is predominantly residential except for the south central industrial area, which is slated for massive intensification. Tourism is a major part of Unionville's economy. The village itself still resembles the small town that developed over a century or so starting in the early 1840s (when Ira White erected his Union Mills) through the middle to late 20th century. Now a 'heritage conservation district', it attracts thousands of visitors each year — as of 2006 it boasted nine restaurants, including three pubs. Main Street (originally the laneway from the village's first grist mill) also has a number of "century homes" dating back to the 19th century. Each year, thousands of people visit Unionville during the Unionville Festival.The main street has been a stand-in for fictional Connecticut town Stars Hollow during the first season of Gilmore Girls television show, and for other television and movie backdrops. Most of the historic buildings in Unionville are included in List of historic buildings in Markham, Ontario.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School (French: École secondaire Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau, commonly known as PETHS, PET, or Trudeau) is a public, bilingual English and French-immersion secondary school in Markham, Ontario. It was named in honour of the 15th Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

Unionville High School is a public high school of the York Region District School Board in Ontario, Canada. It is located west of the community of Unionville in the city of Markham. The school is located next to the Markham Civic Centre and the Markham Theatre. Unionville High School is most well known for its enriched arts program, Arts Unionville (formerly known as Arts York). The school was purpose-built to house this regional arts program, therefore it has enhanced arts facilities. Arts Unionville is divided into 4 categories: visual arts, music, dance, and drama. In order to gain entry into the program, grade eight to nine students are required to audition.

Bill Crothers Secondary School is an athletic based high school in the community of Unionville in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It was the newest secondary school in the York Region District School Board for a number of years, since 2008. Named for the former Olympic athlete and Chair of the York Region District School Board, Bill Crothers, the school opened its doors to Grade 9 and 10 students in August 2008. The school is 32 acres (130,000 m2) and cost an estimated $32 million to build. The school was formerly an 18-hole golf course, Unionville Golf Centre, opened in 1961.

Angus Glen (Census Tract No. 5350403.05) (2006 Population 2,596) is a community in the city of Markham, just north of the community and former municipality of Unionville, Ontario, Canada. The area was originally farmland, but as Unionville's housing development in the late 1990s matured in 1997 the original Angus Glen East Village, comprising approximately 500 single family homes and townhouses, was developed. Angus Glen incorporated the residential concept of "New Urbanism", to allow for the homes to be designed with the appearance of old downtown Toronto houses, with lane-ways on which the homes' separate garages were built. In the mid-2000s the land west of the small creek on the west border of the East Village commenced development, and is still under construction, known as the West Village. Throughout this period the East Village had a tract of land which had originally been sold to the school board for a possible school. However, the demographic studies could not support a school and after many years of negotiations the developer re-purchased the land in early 2014 and the East Village has had approximately 50 homes under construction, just east of the baseball park and along the north border of York Downs Golf Club. These homes will increase the East Village's homes to close to 600 and the entire community to approximately 1,100. In addition to the Angus Glen Golf Club, the area is just west of Markham's William Berczy Historic Cemetery, which contains the graves of the early settlers of the city of Markham.

Berczy Village is a residential neighbourhood in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded to the north by Major Mackenzie Drive, to the east by McCowan Road, to the south by 16th Avenue, and to the west by Kennedy Road. This area is north of Unionville. The community is named after William Berczy, Markham's founder. The name can be found on limestone plaques throughout the community's many arterial road entrances. The community is known for its variety of mixed-income dwellings and the green space found in most subdivisions. Townhouses and some semi-detached homes can be found along Bur Oak Avenue, whereas semi-detached and detached homes are found on residential streets. It is also noted for the many garage alleyways behind the townhomes and some semi-detached homes and the plentiful spacious catwalks. Berczy Village adheres to the city of Markham's development plan for "Smart Growth". The carefully planned urban design scheme puts an emphasis on open space, protection of environmentally sensitive areas, and conservation of woodlots.

The Markham Pan Am Centre is a multi-purpose community and aquatics centre located in the new downtown area of Markham, Ontario, Canada. The facility was designed to host the badminton, table tennis and water polo events for the 2015 Pan American Games, held in nearby Toronto in July and August, 2015. The venue also hosted the table tennis competition in the 2015 Parapan American Games. During the Pan Am and Parapan American Games the venue was known as the Atos Markham Pan Am / Parapan American Centre. After the 2015 Pan Am Games, the facility continues to be used as a community and competition centre for aquatics, badminton, volleyball, basketball and table tennis for Markham-area residents.

Langham Square (Chinese: 朗豪坊) (formerly known as South Unionville Square) is a 500,000-square-foot (46,000 m2) Asian-themed shopping, office and residential complex in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the intersection of Kennedy Road and South Unionville Avenue, which is north of the 407 ETR and east of Downtown Markham. Its Chinese name “朗豪坊” echoes Langham Place, a shopping and office complex located in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. It is primarily a mall to serve the growing Asian community. The complex includes a condominium tower and townhouses with commercial retail/professional offices. It is anchored at the concourse level by T & T Supermarket, which belongs to the group of Loblaws Ltd. chain stores. On the south end of the complex is a 12 floor 253 unit condo tower.

Unionville GO Station is a train and bus station in the GO Transit network located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is a stop on the Stouffville line. The station is also served by Highway 407 East Express buses, which run westbound to Highway 407 station, northbound to Mount Joy GO Station, and eastbound to the Oshawa GO station. By late May 2022, the station had acquired a second track, a turnaround track and an island platform to support future all-day, two-way service on the Stouffville line. In the future, GO trains will run every 10 minutes to Unionville and every 30 minutes to Mount Joy GO Station.
