Rudow is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. There is a bus link to Berlin Schönefeld Airport, served by the line 171 and the express bus X7. Since 2015, the station has been under extended refurbishment to provide a better interchange between buses serving Brandenburg Airport/BER and the trains. Opened in 1972 by architect Rümmler it is the end station of the U7 line. Storage sidings for subway trains at the southern end measure about 350m. The Teltow Canal, also known as the Teltowkanal in German, is a canal to the south of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. The canal lies in both the states of Berlin and Brandenburg, and at points forms the boundary between the two. It takes its name from the Brandeburgian region of Teltow and town of Teltow which lie on its course. The canal was constructed between 1900 and 1906, when it was opened by Wilhelm II.The canal is 37.83 kilometres (23.51 mi) in length and links the River Havel near the city of Potsdam with the River Dahme near Köpenick in Berlin's eastern suburbs. The Dahme provides a link to the Oder-Spree Canal, and hence to the River Oder and Poland. Whilst the Dahme is a tributary of the River Spree, itself a navigable tributary of the Havel, the Teltow Canal offers the advantage of bypassing the centre of Berlin, with its heavy river traffic.At its western end, the Teltow Canal incorporates the Griebnitzsee lake which links to the Havel in Potsdam. The Griebnitz Canal provides a second link to the Havel from the eastern end of the Griebnitzsee. Towards its eastern end, the Teltow Canal is linked to the Landwehr Canal by the Neukölln Ship Canal, while the Britz Canal connects the Teltow Canal with the Spree.There is only one lock on the canal, at Kleinmachnow. The canal is navigable by boats with a draught of up to 1.75 metres (5 ft 9 in) and with a maximum bridge clearance of 4.4 metres (14 ft).

Johannisthal (German pronunciation: [joˈhanɪsˌtaːl] (listen)) is a German locality (Ortsteil) within the Berlin borough (Bezirk) of Treptow-Köpenick. Until 2001 it was part of the former borough of Treptow.

Johannisthaler Chaussee is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . It was opened in 1970 by its architect Rainer G. Rümmler, and got the addition "Gropiusstadt" in 1972. The station is located in the district of Gropiusstadt, from which the station also got its nickname. In the station list of the BVG this station carries the abbreviation 'Jt'. When the shopping mall "Gropius Passagen" was opened, the station was refurbished and got a direct entrance to the shopping mall. The station was designed by Rainer G. Rümmler. The station has a central platform with a central staircase leading to the Gropius Passagen shopping center and an exit on the northern platform that leads to a vestibule. The original entrance halls, as they existed in 1970, no longer exist. The walls are covered in gray tiles, interrupted by a horizontal white stripe on which the name of the station is written. The center columns are clad with metal sheets. The ceiling and platform itself are gray.The station is fully wheelchair accessible via an elevator.

The Späth (often spelt Spaeth) family created one of the world's most notable plant nurseries of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The nursery had been founded in 1720 by Christoph Späth but removed to the erstwhile district of Baumschulenweg (lit. 'nursery way'; now part of the Treptow-Köpenick district) in south-east Berlin in 1863 when Franz Ludwig Späth (1839 - 1913) succeeded his father Ludwig as manager when aged only 25. By the end of the 19th century, the nursery was the largest in the world, occupying 120 hectares. In 1874 Franz built a mansion on the site, now part of Humboldt University and, five years later, established an arboretum. After his death in Britz in 1913, Franz Späth was succeeded by his son, Hellmut, who revived the nursery's flagging fortunes during the Depression by joining the Nazi Party and securing lucrative landscaping contracts for the new autobahns and other public works. However, his outspoken criticism of the Nazi regime saw him incarcerated in Sachsenhausen concentration camp where he was executed in 1945. The nursery had closed the year before, and in 1947 the arboretum passed into public ownership becoming known as the Späthsches Arboretum.

The Späth-Arboretum (3.5 hectares) is an arboretum now maintained by the Humboldt University of Berlin. It is located at Späthstraße 80/81, Berlin, Germany, and open several days per week in the warmer months.

The Britz Canal, or Britzer Verbindungskanal in German, is a 3.4-kilometre (2.1 mi) long canal in Berlin, Germany. The canal was built between 1900 and 1906, and was previously known as the Britz Branch Canal or Britzer Zweigkanal.The canal provides a shortcut for shipping from the Teltow Canal and Neukölln Ship Canal directly to the Spree River, as well as serving several inner city ports. It has no locks.
