Little Fisher River is a 16.78 mi (27.00 km) long 4th order tributary to the Fisher River in Surry County, North Carolina. This is the only stream of this name in the United States.

Surry County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Dobson, Surry County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Harry Barton and built in 1916. It is a three-story, rectangular Classical Revival style tan brick building. The five bay front and rear elevations feature a central entrance flanked by pairs of Ionic order pilasters. Two-story wings were added to the main block in 1971.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Dobson is the home of the Shelton Vineyards, the largest winery in North Carolina. It is also home to a significant Latino population due to the large number of farms in the area. The main crops in the area are corn, tobacco and soy beans.

The only incorporated municipality within Dobson Township is the Town of Dobson, the county seat of Surry County. Additionally, there are several smaller, unincorporated communities located here, including New Hope, Salem Fork and Union Cross. The highest point in Dobson Township is Turner Mountain, elevation 1,275 feet (389 m), which is the site of several communications towers.
