Artenara is a village and a Spanish municipality in the western part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. The village of Artenara is situated in the mountains, 24 km (15 mi) south-west of Las Palmas. Its population is 1,198 (2013), and the area is 66.70 km2 (25.75 sq mi). Artenara is the smallest municipality of Gran Canaria in population.

Tejeda is a village and a municipality in the mountainous central part of the island of Gran Canaria in the province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands.

Roque Nublo (Clouded Rock, Rock in the Clouds) is a volcanic rock on the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. It is 67 m (220 ft) tall, and its top is 1,813 m (5,948 ft) above sea level. The Roque Nublo is the third highest point on the island of Gran Canaria, after the Morro de la Agujereada at 1,956 meters, and the Pico de las Nieves at 1,949 meters. It was formed by a volcanic eruption around 4.5 million years ago.

Gran Canaria (UK: , US: ; Spanish pronunciation: [ɡɾaŋ kaˈnaɾja]), also Grand Canary Island, is the third-largest and second-most-populous island of the Canary Islands, an archipelago off the Atlantic coast of Northwest Africa and is part of Spain. As of 2019 the island had a population of 851,231 that constitutes approximately 40% of the population of the archipelago. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the capital of the island, is the biggest city of the Canary Islands and the ninth of Spain. Gran Canaria is located in the Atlantic Ocean in a region known as Macaronesia about 150 kilometres (93 mi) off the northwestern coast of Africa and about 1,350 km (840 mi) from Europe. With an area of 1,560 km2 (602 sq. mi) and an altitude of 1,956 m (6,417 ft) at Morro de la Agujereada, Gran Canaria is the third largest island of the archipelago in both area and altitude. Gran Canaria is also the third most populated island in Spain.

Risco Caído is a land-form and archaeological site on the island of Gran Canaria, Spain. The site contains prehistoric cave dwellings, temples, and granaries attributed to the pre-Hispanic culture of the Canary Islands. It is also considered to have been used as an astronomical observatory by Aboriginal people. In July 2019, Risco Caído was named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also a UNESCO recognised Cultural Landscape. It is the first World Heritage Site of the island of Gran Canaria and the province of Las Palmas and the fourth of the Canary Islands.

Gran Canaria is one of the 59 constituencies (Spanish: circunscripciones) represented in the Senate of Spain, the upper chamber of the Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales. The constituency elects three senators. Its boundaries correspond to those of the island of Gran Canaria. The electoral system uses an open list partial block voting, with electors voting for individual candidates instead of parties. Electors can vote for up to two candidates.

Gran Canaria is one of the seven constituencies (Spanish: circunscripciones) represented in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, the regional legislature of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. The constituency currently elects 15 deputies. Its boundaries correspond to those of the island of Gran Canaria. The electoral system uses the D'Hondt method and a closed-list proportional representation, with a minimum threshold of fifteen percent in the constituency or four percent regionally.

Pico de las Nieves is the highest peak and a stratovolcano on the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Its height is 1,949 metres (6,394 ft) above sea level. On its slopes, Canary Islands Pine was reintroduced in the 1950s.Traditionally, Pico de las Nieves has been considered the highest peak on the island of Gran Canaria; however, this is uncertain since Morro de la Agujereada stands at 1,956 metres (6,417 ft), which would make it higher than Pico de las Nieves. The two mountains stand next to each other. Gran Canaria has the highest elevation of the province of Las Palmas and the third highest in the Canary Islands. Of the other Canary Islands, only Tenerife and La Palma have higher peaks.

Morro de la Agujereada is the highest elevation of the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Located in Pico de las Nieves, it reaches a height of 1,956 meters above sea level (according to the IGN), being the highest elevation in the province of Las Palmas. Gran Canaria is the third highest island in the Canary Islands, after Tenerife and La Palma. Although traditionally Pico de las Nieves was considered to be 1,949 meters high, Morro de la Agujereada actually reaches its highest point at 1,956 meters. Morro de la Agujereada is a rocky promontory at the highest point of Pico de las Nieves, whose slopes cover the central area of the summit, and in which numerous snow pits were dug in the past.

Valleseco is a town and a municipality of Las Palmas province, on the Canary Islands. It is in the northcentral part of Gran Canaria. Valleseco means "dry valley" in Spanish, but is actually one of the wettest municipalities of the island. Its population is 3,904 (2013), and the area is 22.11 km². The elevation is 1,000 m. The town Valleseco is situated 3 km southwest of Teror and 17 km southwest of the city of Las Palmas. Its landscape is characterized by deep valleys and ravines and a great vegetal richness that has resulted in more than 80% of the territory being protected by Nature Reserves. Valleseco, at 1000 m. above sea level, often seems to be enveloped in a "sea of clouds". This helps to make the landscape very lush. Here, the trade winds deposit its precipitations, which, according to a local saying, "seem not to wet but soak", a type of wealth in the form of rain so appreciated by the country person, who thus sees his effort rewarded with productive crops of potatoes, corn and fruits.

San Bartolomé de Tirajana is a village and a Spanish municipality in the south-eastern part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. With an area of 333.13 km2 (128.62 sq mi), San Bartolomé de Tirajana is the largest municipality in area on the island as well as the Canary Islands. The population is 56,698 (2013).The municipality contains the large beach resorts of Maspalomas, including Playa del Inglés and San Agustín, and the Pilancones natural park. The municipal capital, the village of San Bartolomé de Tirajana is situated in the mountains, 17 km (11 mi) from the coast and 27 km (17 mi) south-west of Las Palmas, at about 900 m (2,953 ft) elevation. Most of the population lives along the Atlantic coastline. The GC-1 motorway passes through the southern part of the municipality, and connects it with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Gran Canaria Airport.
