Broxhead and Kingsley Commons

Sleaford in Hampshire, England is a hamlet of Headley Civil Parish and the Northanger Ecclesiastical Benefice. It is in the civil parish of Whitehill It lies on the A325 and B3004 roads where they cross the small River Slea, a tributary of the Wey. Since the road junction has been re-aligned, there are now three bridges across the river. Sleaford is at the edge of Broxhead Common, a part of the belt of heathland on the Surrey-Hampshire border from Berkshire to West Sussex, which the British Army found attractive for training. There are numerous military colleges, camps and training grounds in the region which extends in a zone southwards from Windsor, through Camberley, Frimley and Aldershot to Bordon (near Sleaford), Woolmer and Longmoor Military Camp (grid reference SU795310). The last two were set up to train engineers to run railways, a very important skill in the Great War period.

Kingsley Common is a 41-hectare (100-acre) protected area in Kingsley, Hampshire, England. The site holds many rare species of animals and birds. Some species of plants and animals may also be subject to special protection under Part I of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or under the Habitats Regulations 1994.

Pinewood or Pinewood Village is an area in Bordon, in the English county of Hampshire. Located in the north of the town, administratively it is in the parish of Whitehill, and the Whitehill Pinewood ward of East Hampshire district. Development of the area started in 1987 on the site of former married quarters at Bordon Camp that from 1970 had been leased for use as council housing and later purchased by the district council. The nearest railway station is Liphook, 4.4 miles (6.5 km) southeast of the village.

The Bordon Light Railway was a short-lived light railway line in Hampshire that connected the Army Camp at Bordon, as well as the villages of Bordon and Kingsley, with the national rail network at Bentley on the main Farnham-Alton line, a distance of 4.5 miles (7.2 km).

Kingsley is a village in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is 2.1 miles (3.4 km) north of Bordon, on the B3004 road. The village has a community centre and an inn, the Cricketers. The Victorian parish church of All Saints Is a Grade II listed building.The nearest main railway station is Alton, 4.2 miles (6.7 km) west of the village, although Bentley station is within a similar distance to the north. The village was formerly served by Kingsley Halt on the Bentley to Bordon branch line. The parish includes Kingsley Common.

Lindford is a village and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of Bordon, and west of Headley, East Hampshire on the B3004 road. The nearest railway station is Liphook, 4 miles (6.4 km) southeast of the village. With a population of around 2,700, Lindford has a village shop, post office, private dental practice, hair dresser, as well as a Methodist church, a village hall, a pub, The Royal Exchange, and a club.

Kingsley Halt was a railway station on the Bordon Light Railway which served the village of Kingsley, Hampshire, England. The station had been constructed by the London and South Western Railway (LSWR) in the hope that the area would attract residential development, but this did not happen. The LSWR had purchased an area of land far larger than that what was actually used, as they hoped to construct a large station and goods yard. A primitive halt with a single platform opened some months after the line's opening, consisting merely of a nameboard, noticeboard, lamp and seat.Declining passenger traffic and reduced military activities at Bordon after the Second World War saw the line's closure to regular services in 1957. Kingsley Halt was demolished soon after closure, and nothing now remains except the shape of the trackbed, now used as a farm track.

Bordon is a town in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It lies in the interior of the royal Woolmer Forest, about 5 miles (8.0 km) southeast of Alton. The town forms a part of the civil parish of Whitehill which is one of two contiguous villages, the other being Lindford. The civil parish is on the A325, and near the A3 road between London and Portsmouth, from which it is buffered by the rise of the wooded Woolmer Ranges. Bordon is twinned with Condé-sur-Vire in Normandy, France. Unlike its nearest towns, Petersfield, Farnham and Alton, Bordon has not been a market town, having developed as a military area. Many of the facilities are near the former A325, a toll road (turnpike) that connected Farnham to the A3 to its south and passed though Bordon and Whitehill; the A325 now by-passes the built-up area. Local facilities include The Phoenix Theatre and Whitehill and Bordon Leisure Centre.

Deadwater is a small village in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. It is 1.3 miles (2.1 km) east of Bordon, its nearest town. It also borders the neighbouring village of Hollywater. The nearest railway station is Liphook, 4.1 miles (6.3 km) southeast of the village.

Oakhanger Halt is a former railway station, on the Longmoor Military Railway which served Bordon Camp, the station was closer to the camp than Bordon on the Bordon Light Railway. The station is likely to have opened with the line in 1905 but the first documented evidence showing it open is on 14 August 1914 when it was used the Officer Commanding Railway Troops to say goodbye to the first mobilised Railway Company departing for France.The station was situated immediately to the north of the ungated level crossing over Oakenhanger Road. The line through the halt was built as a single track, was doubled during WWII and singled after the war as doubled ungated level crossings were then no longer permitted. The station had one platform, with no facilities, to the west of the running lines. There was a block post, the Army's name for a signal box, between the road and the start of the platform.At the opposite end of the platform there was a junction with lines going Louisburg Barracks and a set of sidings.The station was closed along with the rest of the line on 31 October 1969.

Kingsley Stream is a tributary of the River Slea that lies in Hampshire, England. It joins the Oakhanger Stream by Kingsley Mill, south of the village. It is regarded by the Environment Agency as the headwaters of the Slea.

Bordon Camp was a British Army camp close to the settlement of Bordon in Hampshire, England. The camp, which was latterly maintained by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, opened in 1863 and closed in 2015.
