Erith Town Hall

Erith ( (listen)) is an area in south-east London, England, 13.3 miles (21.4 km) east of Charing Cross. Before the creation of Greater London in 1965, it was in the historical county of Kent. Since 1965 it has formed part of the London Borough of Bexley. It lies north-east of Bexleyheath and north-west of Dartford, on the south bank of the River Thames. The town centre has been modernised with further dwellings added since 1961. The curved riverside high street has three listed buildings, including the Church of England church and the Carnegie Building. Erith otherwise consists mainly of suburban housing. It is linked to central London and Kent by rail and to Thamesmead by a dual carriageway. It has the longest pier in London, and retains a coastal environment with salt marshes alongside industrial land.

The London Outer Orbital Path — more usually the "London LOOP" — is a 150-mile (242 km) signed walk along public footpaths, and through parks, woods and fields around the edge of Outer London, England, described as "the M25 for walkers". The walk begins at Erith on the south bank of the River Thames and passes clockwise through Crayford, Petts Wood, Coulsdon, Banstead, Ewell, Kingston upon Thames, Uxbridge, Elstree, Cockfosters, Chingford, Chigwell, Grange Hill and Upminster Bridge before ending at Purfleet, almost directly across the Thames from its starting point. Between these settlements the route passes through green buffers and some of the highest points in Greater London.

Erith station serves Erith in the London Borough of Bexley, southeast London. It is 14 miles 18 chains (22.9 km) measured from London Charing Cross. The station stands between Belvedere and Slade Green on the North Kent line and is served by Greenwich line trains running from the station westbound generally to Cannon Street via London Bridge and eastbound to Dartford or to Central London via the Dartford loop and Sidcup. The station buildings date from the opening of the line in 1849.

Erith was a local government district in north west Kent from 1876 to 1965 around the town of Erith. It also included the generally suburban areas of Northumberland Heath, Belvedere, and parts of Barnehurst, Bexleyheath, Crayford and the SE2 London Postal District of Abbey Wood.

Erith Town Football Club is a football club based in Erith in the London Borough of Bexley, England. They are currently members of the Southern Counties East League Premier Division and play at the Erith Sports Stadium.

North End is a name for a neighbourhood in the London Borough of Bexley and the term is of fading use. It was originally a hamlet or farmstead towards the north of the parish of Crayford, a parish founded by the early middle ages and which continues in the Church of England.North End has largely been absorbed by the sprawl of neighbouring communities. It previously covered an area either side of what is now North End Road, between Colyers Lane and Boundary Street, and included Myrtle Farm. In 1848 Samuel Lewis's 'A Topographical Dictionary of England' states that Northend was a hamlet with 191 people.Bus routes 89 and route 428 serve the area and Southeastern trains serve Slade Green railway station on the North Kent Line from Dartford to London. As wards currently are named, in an approximately 10-year renaming and redrawing, a North End ward covers a wider area in the London Borough of Bexley.

The Larner Road Estate was a housing estate located in Erith, Bexley, south east London. Demolition of the estate began in 2013, as preparation for a new development known as Erith Park.

Colyers was an electoral ward in the London Borough of Bexley from 2002 to 2018. It consists of parts of Barnehurst, Erith and Northumberland Heath. Ward Councillors are Brian Bishop, Maxine Fothergill and Chris Taylor (all Conservative). The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 11,128.The ward covers Colyers Lane, a local main road that is 1.5 km (0.93 mi) long east to west, and the surrounding area. Northend Road, part of the A206 road passes the east side of Colyers travelling, north to south it forms some of the ward's eastern boundary. The A220 road passes north to south on the western side of Colyers and forms some of the western boundary; it is named Bexley Road to the north and Erith Road to the south. The ward's southern boundary follows some of railway line east of Barnehurst railway station the on the Bexleyheath Line.

Erith and District Hospital is a health facility in Park Crescent, Erith, London, England. Its former X-Ray Department, which is located underground, is a Grade II listed building.

Northumberland Heath is an area of South East London, England within the London Borough of Bexley. It is located south of Erith and north of Bexleyheath.

Bexley Riverside is an opportunity area defined by the London Plan for potential development, in the Thames Gateway region of South East London. The four constituent towns of the area are Belvedere, Erith, Slade Green and Crayford.
