Whitton Bridge Pasture

Whitton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Stillington and Whitton, the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and the ceremonial county of Durham, England. It is situated to the north west of Stockton-on-Tees, near Stillington and Thorpe Thewles.

The Old Rectory in the village of Redmarshall, County Durham, England, stands to the northeast of St Cuthbert's Church. The rectory, together with its adjoining balustrade, is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade X listed building. The earlier rectory was rebuilt in 1845 at a cost of £1,326 (equivalent to £140,000 in 2021), of which £600 came from Queen Anne's Bounty. It was designed by the Lancaster architect Edmund Sharpe. At that time the rector of St Cuthbert's Church was Revd Thomas Austin, father of Hubert Austin, who was later to join Sharpe's successor, E. G. Paley, in the Lancaster practice. The rectory is constructed in red brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan, is in three storeys, and is Gothic in style. Above the entrance door is a plaque inscribed "A.D. 1845 EDWDO: MALTBY EPISCPO: THA AUSTIN RECTRE: DOMINE DIRIGE NOS". It has since been divided into a house and two flats.

The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

Redmarshall is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of County Durham, England. The population as of the 2011 census was 287. Redmarshall is situated to the west of Stockton-on-Tees, just north of the A66 road which is one of the main trunk routes through Teesside. It is home to the Church of Saint Cuthbert and a pub called The Ship. It has a green in the centre and roads such as Church Lane, Coniston Crescent and Windermere Avenue, named after waters in the Lake District. Ferguson Way is the newest addition to the village. A small wood is a short way out of the village and down a bank past Ferguson Way. There is a new housing estate called the langtons being built on the old remains of the mains care home.

Carlton is a village and civil parish within the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of County Durham, England. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 census was 726. It is situated a few miles (several km) to the north-west of Stockton-on-Tees, a short distance from the village of Redmarshall.

Thorpe Thewles is a village which had history dating back to the 12th century. The village shares a parish with Grindon and is in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, Northern England. It lies near the A177 road between Stockton-on-Tees and Sedgefield.

Holy Trinity Church was a now demolished church in the village of Thorpe Thewles, County Durham, England. It was built in 1848–49 to replace an isolated church on a different site which had been dedicated to Thomas à Becket. The Thomas à Becket church is now in ruins and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. It is also a scheduled monument.Holy Trinity Church was designed by the Lancaster architects Sharpe and Paley at an estimated cost of £600, and could seat 175 people. It measured 68 feet (20.7 m) by 23 feet 6 inches (7.2 m) but by the 1880s it was suffering from decay and damp, and was demolished.It was replaced on the same site in 1886–87 by the present church, dedicated to St James. This church is a Grade II listed building.

Grindon is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Grindon and Thorpe Thewles, in the Stockton-on-Tees district, in the ceremonial county of Durham, England. The civil parish population at the census 2001 was 2,603 reducing to 2,484 at the 2011 Census. It is situated between Sedgefield and Stockton-on-Tees, near to Thorpe Thewles and Thorpe Larches. The place name of "Grindon" is derived from the word 'dun', which meant hill. Grindon is situated in the Upland Fells, formed of Carboniferous millstone grit. "The alternating strata of harder and softer rocks give a stepped profile to many dale sides and distinctive flat-topped summits to the higher fells."

Thorpe Thewles railway station was a stop on the Castle Eden branch of the North Eastern Railway (NER) from 1880 to 1931. It was located approximately 5 miles north of Stockton and was designed to serve the village of Thorpe Thewles and the civil parish of Grindon in Stockton-on-Tees, part of the Ceremonial County of Durham, North East England. Despite its name, the station was actually located further from the village of Thorpe Thewles than Carlton station (later Redmarshall) on the main line of the Clarence Railway.
