Vile Parle

Juhu (Pronunciation: [d͡ʒuɦuː]) is an upmarket neighbourhood of Mumbai. It known for the sprawling Juhu Beach. It is surrounded by the Arabian Sea to the west, Versova to the north, Santacruz and Vile Parle to the east and Khar to the south. Juhu is among the most affluent areas of the city and home to many Bollywood celebrities. The nearest railway stations are Santacruz, Andheri and Vile Parle on the Western Line and Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. The nearest metro station is D. N. Nagar. There are two minor B.E.S.T bus depots in Juhu. J. R. D. Tata, the father of civil aviation in India, made his maiden voyage to Juhu Airport from Drigh Road airstrip, Karachi, via Ahmedabad, on 15 October 1932 carrying mail in a Puss Moth aircraft.

Mumbai-Juhu Airport (मुंबई - जुहू विमानतळ) (ICAO: VAJJ) is located in Juhu, an upmarket residential suburb of Mumbai, India. It is used by small General Aviation aircraft and helicopters. It was founded in 1928 as India's first civil aviation airport, In 1932, JRD Tata landed at the Juhu aerodrome, inaugurating India's first scheduled commercial mail service. Juhu served as the city's primary airport during and up to World War II. In 1948, commercial operations were moved to the much larger RAF Santacruz (now Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport; CSIA) which was built 2 km east of Juhu aerodrome during the war. Today, the aerodrome handles all helicopter operations out of Mumbai. It also hosts the Bombay Flying Club and several executive and light aircraft and gliders. In 2010, the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which runs the airport, proposed to extend the runway 08/26 into the sea to allow larger aircraft to land, however permission for this was denied by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. With the New Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) rules of 2011 permitting roads on stilts, the Airports Authority of India announced in January 2012 that it would once again pursue its plan of extending the runway at Juhu Aerodrome into the sea.

Jamnabai Narsee School is a private school in Juhu, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was founded on 17 January 1971 and is managed by the Narsee Monjee Education Trust. The school building is unusual and unique in architecture with three clusters of hexagonal classrooms, each with a central foyer. The school is attended by children from mostly Juhu, and its alumni include several famous dignitaries and celebrities.

Japan Air Lines Flight 472 was a flight from London to Tokyo via Frankfurt, Rome, Beirut, Tehran, Bombay, Bangkok and Hong Kong. On September 24, 1972, the flight landed at Juhu Aerodrome near Bombay, India instead of the city's much larger Santacruz Airport (now Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport) and overran the runway, resulting in the aircraft being written off after being damaged beyond economic repair.

The Dr. R. N. Cooper Municipal General Hospital is a public hospital located in Juhu, Mumbai, India. It is owned and operated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.This hospital was upgraded into medical college in 2015. It was started in 1969 as a maternity home before it was converted into a full-fledged general hospital in 1970.The hospital underwent massive reconstruction after the original building was declared unfit for use in 1999. The new upgrade, at a cost of ₹321 crore, includes more beds, as well as systems for rainwater harvesting and sewage treatment. The new hospital design includes an infection control design to prevent doctors from contracting tuberculosis while on duty.

Dwarkadas Jivanlal Sanghvi College of Engineering, also known as D. J. Sanghvi, is an engineering college in Vile Parle, Mumbai. The college was established by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal in 1994.

Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital formerly known as Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital is a private hospital located in Vile Parle, Mumbai, India, which was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru in November 1950 and opened in May 1951. Lately, Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital was taken over by Radiant Group.

Irla is a neighbourhood in suburban Mumbai, part of Vile Parle. It is located near the upmarket Juhu area. There is one beautiful Jain temple of the first Tirthankar of Jains, Adinath. It also contains a famous chain of shops called "Alfa". Also Located in Irla is the very famous homeopathic college, Smt. Chandaben Mohanbhai Patel Homeopathic Medical College. Irla is also home to one of Mumbai's popular Catholic shrines, Our Lady of Velankanni Church.

Vile Parle (station code: VLP) is a railway station on the Western line and Harbour line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It serves the Vile Parle locality. In July 2013, Ville Parle became the first station on the Western line, and second on the Mumbai Suburban Railway (after Thane railway station), to have an escalator. It cost ₹5 million (US$66,000).Vile Parle railway station has 6 platforms (2 – Harbour Line, 2 – Main Line, 2 – Fast train platforms although fast trains don't stop here). In addition, it has a parallel line that is generally used for trains bound to and from Bandra Terminus.
