Japan Air Lines Flight 472 was a flight from London to Tokyo via Frankfurt, Rome, Beirut, Tehran, Bombay, Bangkok and Hong Kong. On September 24, 1972, the flight landed at Juhu Aerodrome near Bombay, India instead of the city's much larger Santacruz Airport (now Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport) and overran the runway, resulting in the aircraft being written off after being damaged beyond economic repair.

Vile Parle (IPA: [ʋile paːɾle], also known as Parle, pronounced "Parle" or "Parla"), is a neighbourhood and also the name of the railway station in the Western suburb of Mumbai. Vile Parle has a significantly strong base of Marathi and Gujarati population. It serves as the location of the first Parle factory which ceased operations in year 2016. It also houses Terminal 2 (T2) of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Mumbai-Juhu Airport (मुंबई - जुहू विमानतळ) (ICAO: VAJJ) is located in Juhu, an upmarket residential suburb of Mumbai, India. It is used by small General Aviation aircraft and helicopters. It was founded in 1928 as India's first civil aviation airport, In 1932, JRD Tata landed at the Juhu aerodrome, inaugurating India's first scheduled commercial mail service. Juhu served as the city's primary airport during and up to World War II. In 1948, commercial operations were moved to the much larger RAF Santacruz (now Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport; CSIA) which was built 2 km east of Juhu aerodrome during the war. Today, the aerodrome handles all helicopter operations out of Mumbai. It also hosts the Bombay Flying Club and several executive and light aircraft and gliders. In 2010, the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which runs the airport, proposed to extend the runway 08/26 into the sea to allow larger aircraft to land, however permission for this was denied by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. With the New Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) rules of 2011 permitting roads on stilts, the Airports Authority of India announced in January 2012 that it would once again pursue its plan of extending the runway at Juhu Aerodrome into the sea.

Vile Parle (station code: VLP) is a railway station on the Western line and Harbour line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It serves the Vile Parle locality. In July 2013, Ville Parle became the first station on the Western line, and second on the Mumbai Suburban Railway (after Thane railway station), to have an escalator. It cost ₹5 million (US$66,000).Vile Parle railway station has 6 platforms (2 – Harbour Line, 2 – Main Line, 2 – Fast train platforms although fast trains don't stop here). In addition, it has a parallel line that is generally used for trains bound to and from Bandra Terminus.

Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital formerly known as Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital is a private hospital located in Vile Parle, Mumbai, India, which was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru in November 1950 and opened in May 1951. Lately, Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital was taken over by Radiant Group.
