Thicketty Mountain is a mountain summit in northwestern Cherokee County in the state of South Carolina. Thicketty Mountain climbs to an elevation of around 1,194 feet (364 meters). Thicketty Mountain is also one of the three mountain peaks of Cherokee County.

The Peachoid is a 135 foot (41 m) tall water tower in Gaffney, South Carolina, U.S., that resembles a peach. The water tower holds one million U.S. gallons (3.78541 million litres) of water and is located off Peachoid Road by Interstate 85 between exits 90 and 92 (near the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway). Usually referred to by locals as "The Peach" and by passing motorists as "Mr. Peach" or "The Moon over Gaffney", the water tank is visible for several miles around these exits.An example of novelty architecture, the Peachoid is one of the most recognizable landmarks for travelers along I-85 between Charlotte, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia.

Cowpens is a town in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 2,162 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1876, and was incorporated in 1880.

Cowpens Depot, also known as Cowpens Depot Museum and Civic Center, is a historic train station located at Cowpens, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1896 by the Southern Railway. It is a one-story, rectangular frame building painted gray, with a gable roof and freight loading platform. The depot closed in 1967. In 1982 the Town of Cowpens moved it from railroad property one block to its present location. The town has an historic railroad car on display by the depot. The depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Magness-Humphries House is a historic home and farm located near Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina. It was built in 1904, and is a two-story, frame Queen Anne / Classical Revival style farmhouse on brick and rock piers. It features a steep hipped roof and decorative chimneys. The property includes a barn, smoke house/potato house, and gear room. They date to 1871. Other outbuildings include a chicken/hen house built about 1918, a dibby house and pump house built in the 1940s, and several others built in the 1950s. James Judson Magness established a home and farm in 1871; his original home was destroyed by fire in 1904.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The Second Broad River is a tributary of the Broad River in western North Carolina in the United States. Via the Broad and Congaree rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Santee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean.The Second Broad River rises in south-central McDowell County about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Marion, and flows generally southeastwardly through Rutherford County, passing to the east of the town of Forest City. It briefly enters Cleveland County before flowing into the Broad River from the north, about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Forest City.

Lake Blalock (formally, the H. Taylor Blalock Reservoir) is a reservoir in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, located on the Pacolet River about five miles north of Spartanburg. After its creation was authorized in 1976 by the Commissioners of Spartanburg Water System, Blalock Dam was constructed in 1983. The existing earthen dam is approximately 700 ft (210 m). long and 70 ft (21 m) high. It was originally designed for a normal operating pool of 700 feet (210 m), and the lake had approximately 35 miles (56 km) of shoreline. The existing spillway has a crest length of 270 ft (82 m). To increase the safe yield of the reservoir, Spartanburg Water System raised the level of Lake Blalock by 10 feet (3.0 m), increasing the water surface elevation to 710 feet (220 m) in 2004. This project was completed in 2006 and involved overlaying the existing earthen dam with a layer of roller compacted concrete, approximately 3 ft (0.91 m) in thickness, and constructing a new RCC stilling basin. The existing spillway was also upgraded by furnishing and installing three hydraulically operated spillway crest gates, constructing a new cast-in-place concrete ogee crest, and constructing a bridge across the spillway. In addition, the project also cleared approximately 300 acres (42 miles of shoreline) around the perimeter of the reservoir.

Thicketty (also spelled Thickety) is an unincorporated community in Cherokee County, South Carolina, United States. It lies between Gaffney and Cowpens along U.S. Route 29. Thicketty is located approximately 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Spartanburg.
