Cowpens Depot, also known as Cowpens Depot Museum and Civic Center, is a historic train station located at Cowpens, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1896 by the Southern Railway. It is a one-story, rectangular frame building painted gray, with a gable roof and freight loading platform. The depot closed in 1967. In 1982 the Town of Cowpens moved it from railroad property one block to its present location. The town has an historic railroad car on display by the depot. The depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Converse Mill

The Converse Mill, also known as Clifton Mill #3, is a historic textile mill at 200 High Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The main mill building is a four-story brick building with smaller additions, sited on 11 acres (4.5 ha) overlooking the Pacolet River to the east. The mill was built in 1903 on the site of Clifton Mill #3, then the largest textile mill in the world, which had been destroyed by flood. It was designed by the noted industrial architectural firm Lockwood, Green of Boston, Massachusetts. The mill was closed sometime between 1968 and 1973, after which many of its windows were bricked over and it was converted to a warehouse. It is the only surviving element of the Clifton Mill complex, which originally had three large buildings. It is currently being renovated into apartments, some of which have views of the Pacolet River.The mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Lake Blalock

Lake Blalock (formally, the H. Taylor Blalock Reservoir) is a reservoir in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, located on the Pacolet River about five miles north of Spartanburg. After its creation was authorized in 1976 by the Commissioners of Spartanburg Water System, Blalock Dam was constructed in 1983. The existing earthen dam is approximately 700 ft (210 m). long and 70 ft (21 m) high. It was originally designed for a normal operating pool of 700 feet (210 m), and the lake had approximately 35 miles (56 km) of shoreline. The existing spillway has a crest length of 270 ft (82 m). To increase the safe yield of the reservoir, Spartanburg Water System raised the level of Lake Blalock by 10 feet (3.0 m), increasing the water surface elevation to 710 feet (220 m) in 2004. This project was completed in 2006 and involved overlaying the existing earthen dam with a layer of roller compacted concrete, approximately 3 ft (0.91 m) in thickness, and constructing a new RCC stilling basin. The existing spillway was also upgraded by furnishing and installing three hydraulically operated spillway crest gates, constructing a new cast-in-place concrete ogee crest, and constructing a bridge across the spillway. In addition, the project also cleared approximately 300 acres (42 miles of shoreline) around the perimeter of the reservoir.
