Rock Creek Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church building in Needy, Oregon near Canby, Oregon. It was built in 1858 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.It was deemed notable as one of few remaining circuit church buildings from early Oregon. According to its NRHP nomination, "The simple elegance of this structure stands as an example of the unpretentious lives of early Oregon settlers."It is a one-story 20 by 24 feet (6.1 m × 7.3 m) building. John Killan led the construction. The vestibule was added in about 1920.

Needy, also known as Hardscrabble, is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. James H. Brents gave the community its names, which may be such because of its poverty. Needy's post office was established on February 16, 1885 and John M. Bacon was its postmaster. It closed on September 19, 1903. It is now served by the Canby post office.

Macksburg is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States four miles southeast of Canby. It is located on Gribble Prairie between the Pudding River and the Molalla River. Originally named "Macksburgh", Macksburg had a post office from 1884 to 1903. The town was named after William and Louise Mack, pioneers of 1852.In 1915, the community had a population of 200, a public school, two Lutheran churches, a grange hall and several stores. As of 1992, one church remained and the school, grange hall and stores were closed.Macksburg Lutheran Church was built in 1892 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Early members of the church were originally from Germany and Austria, so all services were conducted in German until 1929, and alternated between English and German until 1943.

Historically, the church offered sermons and Sunday school in both the German and English languages, on an alternating basis.Macksburg Lutheran Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 14, 1982.

Molalla Prairie is an unincorporated community of approximately 3,500 residents in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The community is located south of Molalla. In June 2009, 178 residents of the area signed petitions calling for a vote on forming a hamlet, hoping it would give the area more political clout on issues such as opposition to a natural gas pipeline through the area and agritourism. In March 2010, residents within the boundaries of the proposed hamlet voted in favor of formation by a 75–60 vote. On April 1, 2010, the hamlet came into existence after the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners approved the formation.In October 2014, all members of the hamlet's board of directors voted to resign and donate the hamlet's trust fund to the nearby hamlet of Beavercreek. The future of the community remains uncertain.

International Reptile Rescue, formerly known as Hart's Reptile World, is a not-for-profit reptile rescue organization located in Canby, Oregon, United States. The organization works to rescue all members of the reptile family, including snakes, turtles, tortoises, lizards, alligators and crocodiles. Founded in 1978, the organization also educates the public about reptiles through outreach programs, including offering lectures in educational settings such as libraries, science museums, television appearances and specially arranged birthday parties. Under the name of Hart's Reptile World, the organization was often featured in the local Oregon and Washington media, as well as larger media venues. For example, some pythons from the exhibit were featured in the video Sowing the Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears, and Wilbur the Crocodile was featured in the Michael Jackson video "Leave Me Alone."

Scotts Mills is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States. The population was 419 at the 2020 census. It is 2 miles (3 km) south of Marquam and Oregon Route 213, between Silverton and Molalla. Scotts Mills is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is near the site of the 1993 Scotts Mills earthquake.

The Fred Vonder Ahe House or Von der Ahe House was built in 1869 in the small community of Carus, Oregon, near Molalla for German immigrant Fred Vonder Ahe and his wife Marie Louisa Kleine Vonder Ahe. Fred arrived in New York in 1852 and followed the Oregon Trail to Oregon. He saved enough to acquire a 320-acre (130 ha) farm in 1857, and sent for his fiancé Marie to join him in 1858. In 1887 the house became the Carus post office, as it was the oldest and most significant house in the community. In 1972 the house was under threat of demolition. It was acquired by the Molalla Area Historical Society and moved to a site in Molalla next to the Horace L. Dibble House.The Vonder Ahe House is described as a vernacular interpretation of the Federal style. It is an unusual example of a two-story plank house with well-preserved interior details. The associated summer house was moved with the main house to the new site. The house and summer kitchen were placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 26, 1976. Both the Vonder Ahe House and the Dibble House are operated as a museum by the Molalla Area Historical Society.
