Needy, also known as Hardscrabble, is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. James H. Brents gave the community its names, which may be such because of its poverty. Needy's post office was established on February 16, 1885 and John M. Bacon was its postmaster. It closed on September 19, 1903. It is now served by the Canby post office.

Yoder is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The name "Yoder" comes from the Mennonites who settled in the area. The community is best known as a filming location for Nowhere Man.Yoder is located on South Kropf Road, just north of South Schneider Road and about one mile south of Highway 211, where Kropf Road and 211 form Hamrick's Corner. Canby is to the north and Marquam is to the south. The Yoder Mill, a sawmill built in 1889, has been burned down and rebuilt a total of three times. The Yoder Store, an old-style general store, was built in 1914. The Yoder School was a small, wooden school that was built in 1923 and used until 1963. The building still stands. South Clackamas Community Church has met at the old Yoder School since the mid-1990s and even ran a private Christian School at the location for a few years.The former Willamette Valley Southern Railway ran through Yoder, linking Oregon City and Mt. Angel.

Macksburg is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States four miles southeast of Canby. It is located on Gribble Prairie between the Pudding River and the Molalla River. Originally named "Macksburgh", Macksburg had a post office from 1884 to 1903. The town was named after William and Louise Mack, pioneers of 1852.In 1915, the community had a population of 200, a public school, two Lutheran churches, a grange hall and several stores. As of 1992, one church remained and the school, grange hall and stores were closed.Macksburg Lutheran Church was built in 1892 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Early members of the church were originally from Germany and Austria, so all services were conducted in German until 1929, and alternated between English and German until 1943.

The church was built between 1892 and 1894, in order to serve the needs of German-speaking immigrants from Germany and Austria. Historically, the church offered sermons and Sunday school in both the German and English languages, on an alternating basis.Macksburg Lutheran Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 14, 1982.

Before being incorporated as a city, it was the location of the Aurora Colony, a religious commune founded in 1856 by William Keil and John E. Schmit. William named the settlement after his daughter. The population was 1,133 at the 2020 Census. It is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Aurora Colony, also called Aurora Mills, was a Christian utopian communal society founded in 1856 by William Keil in modern-day Aurora, Oregon, US. At its peak in 1868, the Aurora Colony had about 600 people and 15,000 acres (6,100 ha) of land. The colony, along with Keil's previously established Bethel colony, was formally dissolved in 1883. In 1974, about 150 acres (61 ha) and 12 buildings of the former colony were inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places as parts of the Aurora Colony Historic District.

William Barlow House (or Barlow House) is a historic building in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. Barlow House was home to William Barlow, namesake of the city of Barlow and son of Samuel K. Barlow, who built the Barlow Road. The house is located south of Barlow, between Canby and Aurora on 99E. It was built in an Italianate style in 1885, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 15, 1977. It now operates as a privately owned museum and is open by appointment.
