Mount Gimont (French: Grand Charvia) is a mountain 2,646 m above sea level in the Montgenèvre Alps, in the Cottian Alps. It is located on the border between Italy (Metropolitan City of Turin) and France (Hautes-Alpes).

The Clarée is a river in southeastern France, a right tributary to the Durance. It is 31.9 km (19.8 mi) long. Its drainage basin is 189 km2 (73 sq mi). Its source is in the Cottian Alps, near Mont Thabor and Valloire. It flows for all of its course in the Hautes-Alpes department. Its confluence with the Durance is near the hamlet of Les Alberts not far from the source of the Durance in the ski resort of Montgenevre. The upper reaches of the river are in a military exercise range. This is where the French army from their base in Briançon train in the mountains.

A run connecting Sagnalonga Monti della luna to Cesana is currently being renovated and will be open from 2022. During the summer, Cesana is a popular holiday destination, famous for its many trekking and alpine lakes in the neighbouring areas.

The accommodation is located in Cesana and lies in a large ski area named Via Lattea. It is directly connected to the winter venues in Monginevro and Sestriere. The elevation of this area varies between 1630 and 1680 meters. The course is located near Cesana Pariol where the Winter Olympics's bobsled, luge and skeleton events were held. These venues were built as special venues for the Olympic Games with varying heights and difficulties. The facility is part of Torino Olympic Park, created to manage all of the venues used for the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Sansicario (also spelled San Sicario) is a frazione of the comune of Cesana Torinese (Metropolitan City of Turin) in Piedmont, north-western Italy.It lies at 1,700 m (5,600 feet) in the Val Susa and has a population of 93 people. It is a famous winter tourist resort.At the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics, it hosted the biathlon, luge, skeleton, bobsled, and also the Women's' Downhill and Super-G Alpine skiing races.
