The Bloomsbury Historic District is a neighborhood and national historic district located near downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Located north of the Five Points intersection, the boundaries include Fairview Road, St. Mary's Street, Byrd Street, Sunset Drive, and Whitaker Mill Road. The residential district encompasses 439 contributing buildings and was developed between about 1914 and 1950. It includes notable examples of Tudor Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture.In May 2002, Bloomsbury was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Captrust Tower is a 17-story 260 feet (79 m) mixed use high-rise building located in North Hills, Raleigh, North Carolina. The tower opened in the fall of 2009. It has 274,000 square feet (25,500 m2) of office space and 28,400 square feet (2,640 m2) of retail space. It is named for Captrust Financial Advisors, the first tenant, which uses 51,000 square feet (4,700 m2) on the top two floors for its headquarters. Captrust Tower was built by Duke Realty Corp. of Indianapolis and Kane Realty Corp. of Raleigh. KSB realty Advisors of Newport Beach, California announced its $98.4 million purchase of the building January 31, 2013.When the tower was announced in 2007, Captrust Financial Advisors had 75 employees and managed $20 billion in assets, with plans to expand westward. The company advised companies with retirement plans as well as individuals.

The Henry L. Kamphoefner House was the first Modernist house built in Raleigh, North Carolina. During the mid-20th century, faculty members from the School of Design located at North Carolina State College (now known as North Carolina State University) designed and built several modernist houses in Raleigh for themselves, other faculty, and a few clients. Henry L. Kamphoefner, originally the head of the University of Oklahoma's architecture program, became the first dean of the college's School of Design. Kamphoefner was awarded the North Carolina Award for Fine Arts in 1978 for his work and encouragement of other Modernists to build and design homes in the state. In 1977 he was awarded the Topaz Medallion for Lifelong Achievement in Architecture by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. The Kamphoefner House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 and is designated a Raleigh Historic Landmark.George Matsumoto, architect of the Ritcher House, and Kamphoefner designed the Kamphoefner House in 1948. The home was constructed in 1950. It is an example of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian mode of design, characterized by small scale, affordable construction, open plan interiors, integration of interior and exterior spaces, flat roof and large glazed areas such as windows and doors. The house is oriented around a large, central brick chimney. The rear of the house features large insulated windows, the first of its kind in Raleigh. These windows face a large open terrace and offer a view of the nearby golf course. The front of the house contains no windows, allowing privacy to the occupants.

Paschal House was a historic home located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, United States. It was built in 1950, and was a one-story, irregularly massed, Modern Movement / Wrightian-style dwelling. It had a picturesque composition of stone walls, multiple low-sloped gables with deep overhangs, and expanses of glazed wall. The house was demolished in 2013.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

North Hills is a mixed use development located in Raleigh, North Carolina that includes stores, restaurants, entertainment, commercial offices, residential living and a continuing care retirement community. There is a large outdoor commons area which features events such as live concerts, festivals, and a farmers' market. The development lies at the intersection of Six Forks and Lassiter Mills Roads, just to the north of the Six Fork Road interchange on I-440. Major anchors to the development include Target, the Rennaissance Raleigh Hotel, and a Regal Cinema 14-screen movie theater, as well as a former anchor in JCPenney, which closed in April, 2020, and which is being redeveloped for a new anchor store, Restoration Hardware. The development is built on the site of a former shopping mall, also called North Hills, that was the first enclosed shopping mall in Raleigh.

Fadum House is a historic home which was designed by architect James W. Fitzgibbon and is located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1949, and is a two-story, Modern Movement-style dwelling. It is constructed of glass, brick and wood and features a double cantilevered roof on built-up wood columns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Milton Small House, also known simply as the Small House, is a modernist house built on a steep hillside on the Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1951, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.From the 1940s to the 1960s, the faculty of the North Carolina State College School of Design included several modernist architects, including G. Milton Small, FAIA (1916–1992). Small had studied under Mies van der Rohe at the Illinois Institute of Technology before moving to Raleigh in 1948. He designed the Small House as his own family residence.Small used builder Frank Walser to construct the house. Small went into business with Walser for a time, building homes in the Drewry Hills neighborhood of Raleigh.In its original from, the Small House was "a compact T-shaped, flat-roofed frame box." Most of the home's public living spaces were combined in "one long, carefully proportioned rectangular room that opened with sliding doors onto a full-width, screened porch." The interior included a variety of exotic woods. A number of the home's design elements, including "the definition of space as roof and floor separated by exposed posts, and the large public area that opens onto semi-outdoor spaces," are considered to be typical of the Miesian style. The Raleigh Historic Development Commission has called Small House "the first structure in Raleigh to evoke the design concepts of Mies."A 1961 addition was designed by Small, adding bedrooms to the sides of the house and separate living and dining rooms.

Vanguard Park Historic District is a national historic district located between Bloomsbury and Roanoke Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is one of Raleigh's historic Five Points neighborhoods. Like Roanoke Park, its homes reflect the variety of popular architectural styles from the 1920s through the 1950s and are similar to those found in the nearby prestigious suburb of Hayes Barton, but are more modest in scale. Notably, the popular Colonial style was not used due to Vanguard Park's narrower lots.Construction began in this district along its south and west edges in 1920 with modestly sized American Craftsman bungalows and front-gabled houses. Building slowed considerably during the Depression; homes built in the following years were one- and two-story houses in the Minimal Traditional style. During World War II construction stopped abruptly, only to rebound robustly during the post-war housing shortage. Nearly fifty houses went up in Vanguard Park between 1945 and 1952; Pine Avenue was filled with houses in a single year. Most of these early post-war houses continued to use the Minimal Traditional style.The Gothic Revival style Westminster Presbyterian Church, formerly North Vanguard Church, is the sole institutional building in Vanguard Park.Vanguard Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Hayes Barton Historic District is a neighborhood located northwest of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Hayes Barton, an upper class neighborhood designed by landscape architect Earle Sumner Draper, contains 457 buildings on 1,750 acres (7.1 km2). The neighborhood design includes roads fitted to the contours of the land and features several public parks. The Hayes Barton neighborhood is roughly bounded by St. Mary's St., Fairview Rd., W. Roanoke Park Dr. (renamed in 2020, formerly Aycock St.), Scales St. and Williamson Dr. In 2002, the district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Hi-Mount Historic District is a historic neighborhood located two miles north of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The eleven-block district, developed between 1938 and 1951, is one of the city's best-preserved twentieth century speculative neighborhoods. The district encompasses 168 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. Most of Hi-Mount's homes are Minimal Traditional in style, followed by Cape Cod and Ranch homes with sparse detailing. A small number of developers were involved with the district and the district also benefited from government housing financing programs such as the Federal Housing Administration and the Veteran's Administration, resulting in architectural consistency throughout the neighborhood.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
