Captrust Tower is a 17-story 260 feet (79 m) mixed use high-rise building located in North Hills, Raleigh, North Carolina. The tower opened in the fall of 2009. It has 274,000 square feet (25,500 m2) of office space and 28,400 square feet (2,640 m2) of retail space. It is named for Captrust Financial Advisors, the first tenant, which uses 51,000 square feet (4,700 m2) on the top two floors for its headquarters. Captrust Tower was built by Duke Realty Corp. of Indianapolis and Kane Realty Corp. of Raleigh. KSB realty Advisors of Newport Beach, California announced its $98.4 million purchase of the building January 31, 2013.When the tower was announced in 2007, Captrust Financial Advisors had 75 employees and managed $20 billion in assets, with plans to expand westward. The company advised companies with retirement plans as well as individuals.

North Hills is a mixed use development located in Raleigh, North Carolina that includes stores, restaurants, entertainment, commercial offices, residential living and a continuing care retirement community. There is a large outdoor commons area which features events such as live concerts, festivals, and a farmers' market. The development lies at the intersection of Six Forks and Lassiter Mills Roads, just to the north of the Six Fork Road interchange on I-440. Major anchors to the development include Target, the Rennaissance Raleigh Hotel, and a Regal Cinema 14-screen movie theater, as well as a former anchor in JCPenney, which closed in April, 2020, and which is being redeveloped for a new anchor store, Restoration Hardware. The development is built on the site of a former shopping mall, also called North Hills, that was the first enclosed shopping mall in Raleigh.

The Crabtree Jones House, also known historically as the Nathaniel Jones Jr. House, is a residence at 3108 Hillmer Drive in Raleigh, North Carolina. Constructed around 1808-1811 (by dendrochronological dating in 2014) by Nathaniel Jones, it is one of the few remaining large scale plantation homes in Wake County, and one of the oldest private residences in Raleigh. The home has received several additions since its initial construction, but is mainly known for its Federal-style front. Owned by the Jones family for more than 150 years, the house has fallen into disrepair in more recent decades. Following the purchase of the land the house sat upon by developers in 2012, Preservation North Carolina acquired the house and had it moved to a nearby residential neighborhood, where it sits today. The Crabtree Jones house was greatly influenced by the historical events it stood through while in turn influencing the way the Raleigh community developed around it, through both its people and through its land.

Chestnut Hills was an unincorporated community in Wake County, North Carolina, United States, which is now within the city limits of Raleigh. It lies at an elevation of 348 feet (106 m). It was begun in the early 1950s and was one of North Raleigh's original suburbs, preceding North Hills and North Hills Estates, although the total area is now referred to as North Hills, part of Midtown. This area is now undergoing changes, as some of the original ranch and split-level homes are being torn down and replaced by homes with a minimum of 2,800 square feet (260 m2).

The Hi-Mount Historic District is a historic neighborhood located two miles north of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The eleven-block district, developed between 1938 and 1951, is one of the city's best-preserved twentieth century speculative neighborhoods. The district encompasses 168 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. Most of Hi-Mount's homes are Minimal Traditional in style, followed by Cape Cod and Ranch homes with sparse detailing. A small number of developers were involved with the district and the district also benefited from government housing financing programs such as the Federal Housing Administration and the Veteran's Administration, resulting in architectural consistency throughout the neighborhood.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Mine Creek is a tributary of Crabtree Creek that rises in the northern Raleigh, North Carolina. The creek then flows southwest to Shelley Lake and then south to Crabtree Creek. The watershed is about 19% forested.

Jesse O. Sanderson High School, more commonly called Sanderson High School (SHS), is a co-educational 9–12 public high school located in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States in the Wake County Public School System. The school was founded in 1968. It is named after a former superintendent of Raleigh public schools, Jesse O. Sanderson. Sanderson runs on a 2x4 block schedule; it was one of the first schools in the area to do so. It is known for its performing arts, athletic, and community outreach programs.
